Class Of Heroes 2 Will Be In Session On March 26, Retail Version Slated For April

By Spencer . March 13, 2013 . 10:25pm

Gaijinworks and MonkeyPaw have finished localizing Class of Heroes 2. The PSP dungeon crawler which is essentially a cuter version of Wizardry set in a high school will be available on March 26. Siliconera spoke with Gaijinworks which confirmed the game will launch on the PSP and PlayStation Vita stores on that date.

A limited physical release is scheduled for April and Gaijinworks will begin taking orders next week. We’ll have more on Class of Heroes 2 later on and if you have questions about the localization post them here and I’ll see if we can get some answers.

Nice to see more games taking a etrian odyssey style.

    • xXDGFXx

Etrian odyssey is a great game and I hope the Vita gets more games similar to it. I did not like the wizardry-style gameplay from the first one.

The staple of fun JRPGs: Skill trees. Holy fuck, I could actually see what gets unlocked as I pop a point in to a pre-requisite.

  • Brion Valkerion

Wow randomly found Gaijinworks site last night and saw it wasnt updated for a solid year, here they are again all of a sudden lol.

For those who dont know they are the same guys (owner anyway) that was the company Working Designs. Creators of the awesome Lunar, Growlanser, Arc The Lad ect. collections among other games. Always had amazing translations, AMAZING bug fixes and retooling of bad game features and mechanics and insane extras for games like necklaces, watches, hardcover manuals with full color ect.

      Ah… Lunar… I’m torn. Which one do I prefer?
The opening of Lunar Silver Star Story Complete…

Or the ending of Lunar Eternal Blue…

The first one reminds me of those golden days and the adventure it promised, it always cheers me right up as well as it’s just so very naturally uplifting.

The second one made me feel complete. I spent three in a row days huddled near the screen, going through the story and the epilogue in one shot nigh non-stop.

And yes, in the YT comment. That’s me. Yeah… It sucks… Ah well, I’ll eventually hunt down a physical copy of Lunar 2 at some point… I’ll probably need to be ready to pay exorbitant amounts.

Punching puppets too. WD made some awesome localizations and were basically the only reason owning a Sega CD was worth a damn. I’m absolutely buying this for my PSV day one~.

  • Shane Guidaboni

I forgot about this. I’ll support when it hits.

  • kroufonz

retail release make me interested now, (tough i still prefer they bring the 2G/PS3 version)

or did they include extra content from 2G in this?

    • Ladius

They aren’t a developer, as much as they improved some menus asking them to retrofit the PS3 port to PSP when there isn’t such a version out in Japan would be too much. They did say they will continue localizing the series if this is successful, though.

  • Adrian Burnham

Oh great, just what I need. MORE awesome games to completely drain my wallet of money. Seriously though, can’t wait for it to come out. Loved the first one to bits.

  • Testsubject909

Sweet. I’ll pre-order the retail version as well out of principle.

    Edit: oh. no wait. crap.

Wasn’t the pre-orders only for Kickstart funders?

Damn… I missed that boat way long ago.

    • SolRevr

From their site it seems like they will take pre-orders from anyone. I’m hoping so at least. They had a vote for the game box cover art a couple weeks ago. One winner is for the kickstarter supporters, and the other for the rest of the pre-orders.

      • Yeah, and I have a feeling they are going to give the crappy one to the folks without kickstarter support, which may likely cause me not to order since I voted for the cool picture. I don’t like things like what they are doing with those pictures.

        • TrevHead

The boxart could have US megaman in drag for all I care as long as I can get hold of an (non reseller) import here in the UK.

          • xXDGFXx

I’m all for physical releases but when it bastardizes the game, I’ll just stick with my tethered PSN copy.

        • Ladius

I hope you realize that recognizing one of those covers as “crappy” is pretty much subjective, there are fans of both box arts and they weren’t intended for the reasons you seem to think.

          • It has to do with character placement. The title on the right one is all by its lonesome and looks oddly placed. I am an art afficianado and I like what I like. The left picture is much more dynamic and pleasing to the eye.

What is the PS Store will be a game? In North America or Europe?

    • Testsubject909

I know NA is confirmed, I don’t remember for EU.

      • Дмитрий Гермес

So whether or not in Europe? or Japan only this game?

        • JonathanisPrimus

          Europe is a possibility. It’s not Japan-only.

          • Дмитрий Гермес

Testsubject909, Jonathan, thank you very much

          • TrevHead

I was just thinking that a UK/EU release would be unlikely since the first game didn’t make it over here, however CoH1 was handled by a different publisher wasn’t it? If so than we might be in luck.

A UK PSN release would certainly pucker my spirits up since I was hyped up to play aload of new 360 shmups, only to have my hopes crushed that every single one is either region locked or US localised only.

      • Ladius

Europe was confirmed, too, even if there will probably be a delay.

  • Дмитрий Гермес

Where is the game? In Japan and Europe?

  • Wafflenaut

Just in time. I’m just now finishing up my re run through the first. I have to admit, I’m looking forward to the improvements made to the game mechanics for the sequel.

    • Ladius

I don’t see anything “abusive”, they’re giving consumers a chance to own a physical copy of a game most other would have released digital only, and WD was responsbile for the localization of some extremely good jrpg series back in the days that would have never reached us without them.

  • Pheria

Can you find out more specifics about when we’ll be able to order?

I’m going on a 9-or-so-day trip after Tuesday next week, so I hope I’ll be able to order one before then! Getting gouged by resellers for games is never fun.

  • TrevHead

(Having only a 360/PC) I only just bought a PSP a couple of weeks ago for the sole purpose of playing TRPGs and FPS Dungeon Crawlers only to later find out that the PSP is lacking in the later with bugger all on UK PSN grrr.

Since I can’t grab myself a UK digital copy and all the import copies of CoH1 are been sold at scalper prices compared to what they are in the US I was just about to go “homebrew”. So this is nice timing now I’ll be able to play a legit copy with my money going to the publisher not some random scalper / collector.

    • Testsubject909

Dungeon Crawlers aren’t really a big problem to get on the PSP.

But FPS Dungeon Crawlers… yeah that is a different story..

      • TrevHead

Yup I know that know now lol, I think I got Class of Heroes and the Legend of Heroes series mixed up XD

  • Any chance that EU will get this game as well ?

  • TheExile285

These guys should localize Demon Gaze next

  • TheExile285

What improvements did they make in this one?

  • Ladius

I’m ready to order my physical copy, I’m happy Ireland managed to give us a choice regarding this release :)

  • I don’t have a vita yet, but I will order it for when I do get one!

  • I’d really like to know if they’d plan on translating Class of Heroes 3D if the Class of Heroes 2 sales do okay! Would love it!

  • Raharu95

Is this game on the Vita PSN yet? i can’tseem to find it :/
