Aparently Capcom are throwing in a few extras for those who have the original.

“$20 worth of value in digital rewards for existing users: 100K rift crystals (which in DDDA have a LOT more uses than they did in DD vanilla) the Gransys armor pack and the unlimited Ferrystone ”

Ferrystones are one way fast travel items and are too expensive to buy and rare in the first half of the game. So if you hate having to run everywhere (sprint drains stamina) it might be worth picking up the original which will be dirt cheap once this launches.

It should be noted that 100K rift crystals really isn’t much in the long run. In the original DD, rift crystals didn’t “really” have much use other than a few items and pawn hires. They’ll have more use in DA, but that would probably mean there will be a more efficient way to earn rift crystals anyway (hence why I think 100K won’t make a huge impact in the long run).

After enough levelling, armor mostly becomes an aesthetic preference in DD. And Ferrystones become a dime-a-dozen after a certain point in DD anyway, so it won’t matter too much.

In other words, I’m saying the bonuses won’t be a huge advantage, so don’t go out of your way to get a save file for the original, unless you can do it easily (like borrowing it from a friend for a day).

: I hope these guys are still tough at levels 100+. Maybe I should start a new game for this expansion…

I loved DD but there’s one thing that would make it perfect. I feel like the balance of stats vs. skill was always off meaning you couldn’t kill overpowered enemies with skill because the stats refused to acknowledge your hits that landed.

Monster Hunter did that really well you can have good armor but hits with a weaker sword should still count.

Great news! I bought the original recently and had stopped playing until I found out if the DDDA had this feature.

So now it’s become obvious that the Wizard/Witch hat will cover the sides/back of the head. How hard is it for them to let us have the hairstyles flow freely under certain hats? We know it’s possible to have free hair while wearing hats in DD because of the “Robin Hood” hats in the original game.

Still excited for this expansion, despite being grossly overlevelled with my character. XD
