Fire Emblem: Awakening Demo Hits EU Next Week, New DLC Out In U.S.

By Ishaan . March 22, 2013 . 12:20pm

The demo for Fire Emblem: Awakening will reach Europe next week, on March 28th, Nintendo of Europe have announced. The full game will follow on April 19th.

As previously reported, Europe is getting an exclusive, Fire Emblem: Awakening Nintendo 3DS XL bundle with the game pre-installed on the system.

Meanwhile, in the U.S., Fire Emblem: Awakening has new DLC maps to download. Two maps—Smash Brethren #1 and #2—are available to download for $3 each. The two maps feature a battle between Ike and Roy, who were introduced to the west along with Fire Emblem in Super Smash Bros. Melee.

Completing Smash Brethren 1 will make Elincia a playable character while completing the Smash Brethren 2 map will make Eirika a playable character. You can also purchase a Smash Pack which has both maps and a third one for $6.50, although the third map isn’t playable just yet.

Fire Emblem: Awakening was released in North America back in February. Earlier in the month, Nintendo reported that the game sold over 180,000 copies in its first month.

A little over a month from the games release and the DLC is now less than $10 from exceeding the price of the game.

    • $29082171

That’s because the DLC had already been made for the japanese version which came out last year in April.

    • Suicunesol

$4-6 dollars a week for a period of 2 months is a lot more stomachable than $45 all at once. Best of all–you can buy the DLC, in pieces, whenever you want to, whenever you’re ready. Or maybe not at all if you’re not interested.

You might as well add the cost of the remaining unreleased DLC. It already well exceeds the cost of the game. >_>

In any case, I finished the campaign, enjoyed it, and want more. Naturally, I’m not opposed to DLC, paid or not.

You can also make every female in your army a pretty bride with Smash Brethren 2

    • Linhua

… LOL… i’ve been doing JUST that since I got the DLC.

… every time I clear the map… i’m giving the bouquet to another girl who’s ready… so far i’ve got My Unit, Tharja, Sumia, Nowi & Maribelle briding it out… Chrom still hasn’t gotten a chance to slip out of his Maxed out Dread Fighter… so he stands right in the center of them as they all fan out with their wrath of the brides.

… Talk about Kill Bill: Fire Emblem Edition… XD

  • LustEnvy

I levelled my main females enough to make them into awesome Dread Fighters…only to realize it’s a male class only. THANK GOD for Bride class. I don’t DO male characters, damn it. Except Owain, because…it’s Owain.

    • Linhua

… haha… i’m very picky about my male characters as well… because they’ve got to live up to some sort of acceptance in my eyes for the girls I wanna pair them up with.

… it’s like they’re all my daughters or something… XD

… like Hershel Greene says in The Walking Dead:

“No man is good enough for your little girl; until one is.”

  • Enma_Kozato

Marth and Roy debuted in Melee, Ishaan. Ike was in Brawl.

  • Rock Volnutt

Ike wasn’t introduced in the west in Melee–he was first featured in his own game, Path of Radiance, which came before his first SSB appearance, which was in Brawl.

  • Linhua

… I guess my question has been thoroughly answered at this point…

… all these DLC characters… yet they are all like the rest you get for free.

… I gotta admit… at this point… paying for a pretty picture and a different Skill set for a generic-looking characters just isn’t doing enough for me… =

… I’d be happy with this if they had SOME kinda dialogue when they level up and when they lose or when they are getting things bought for them or sold from them… and it doesn’t even have to be voices… just words would be fine… and yet all we get is dots… … … pretty much like what i’ve been doing since the beginning of time.

… glad i’m taking my time playing this game though… still on my first play through on Classic & Hard and only at chapter 11.

… I now find myself more looking forward to other DLC events like the EXPonential, Golden Gaffe, Infinite Regalia and those Wet Bonds DLCs people have been talking about.

    XD … I said Wet Bonds…

    • Akuosa

Way too much ellipsis abuse, man, what have they done to you?

      • Linhua

… after all these years… the question becomes… what have they NOT done to me… u.u

    • Suicunesol

Yeah, I’m not using the characters either. I wouldn’t say you’re just paying for a character, though. You’re paying for a map too. It’s a package. Did you know that there are a lot conversations you can trigger with the NPC units in each of the maps? It’s like a whole of bunch support conversations between the Awakening characters and characters from past games. Here’s a list of all of the DLC conversation you can trigger in each map.

      • Linhua

… yeah I noticed those.. you’re kinda right, i’m not being entirely fair on that one.. we are getting a map and a little showdown between Fire Emblem Generations.

… thanks for that link though… just when I thought i’ve seen everything from that place I find this. XD

      • Sardorim

Still wish the DLC characters at least looked unique or more than just Marth.

  • Sentsuizan_93

    Awesome! Cant wait ^_^

  • I really can’t wait to check out that demo; I’ve waited too long for this!

My 3DS wishlist is just groooooowing. T^T (<- tears of joy mixed with a pinch of sadness)

  • LegoPenguin

i cant waittttttt for this game

  • Keyanf

Wonder if they fixed how if you get Lief’s Blade from a sparkling spot, it will crash the demo because it doesn’t have the data for the Bullion item included.

  • Sardorim

    There be only 3 saves.

So be careful EU fans. Don’t be like me and overwrite your top save.

I shall miss you my perfect super FE family.

  • Prinnydoom

pre-ordered the limited edition fire emblem 3DS so i am super hyped for this bring on april 19th ^____^
