So just to be clear: is this the original on PS3 or the port on Vita?

EDIT: NEVERMIND should have checked the tags

    • SuBw00FeR

Absence of Detention is the Vita version, the PS3 is Absence of Justice. Clocked over 200hours in it so far (Bought it a while ago) Absolutely love the Disgaea games. Just received my Disgaea D2 Famitsu DX Pack yesterday. :D

And so waiting to get this for the Vita has payed off afterall.

  • MrTyrant

And this is why i love PS Plus.

    • Micrll

I will admit I was not expecting this to be on PS+ but I love that we are seeing more RPG’s get added to the service.

    • psycho_bandaid

seriously. I cant see why anyone would pass on a system that drops free games on you all the time. Hopefully MS and Ninty do the same.

      • MaskMask

Umm, it is a game rental service that only allows you a few pre-picked games a month. I don’t get why you all find it amazing.

I rented this game the day it came out some time last year. lol

I love how they marketed it to you all without none of you realizing you’re getting ripped off. You all are even have you praising them for ripping you off. lol!

        Marketing is an amazing thing!

        • Alexander FromUkraine

Why so bitter? You don’t like people enjoying PS+ ?

Year subscription is 50$ (and you get 10$ back if you do it till the end of march), in this time you will have, like 20 games instantly and, if my math isn’t failing me 33 more PS3 games and 22 Vita games. At least several of those should be interesting for any player. Also, additional Discounts and ability to upload saves to a cloud (when my launch PS3 died with years of gaming in saves, it helped a lot). I admit there were several month when there wasn’t anything worthy for me but they gave me a lot of games I liked which I wouldn’t have even tried otherwise. And I’d say half of that subscription price I returned with discounts. So it’s not marketing, it’s value what I’m looking at. Don’t picture it like people can’t think for themselves and only do that “marketing” tells them

Looking forward to trying out this series. D3 and Atelier Totori will give me 5GB worth of RPG goodness

  • Micrll

I am glad that I can add this to my backlog but it will have to wait till I actually get around to playing the first two games.

    • http://www.hamstapowah.com/ Zaron

Untrue, really. That’s like saying you have to play every Final Fantasy up to date to play the latest. The Disgaea games are for the most part really disconnected from each other outside of the occasional cameo and fanservice nod.

      • Micrll

        Really? Well in that case……

      • Minos

Actually that is not enterilly true, they are related and characters of the previous games appear and all of them happen on the same Universe.

But, the relevance of the.previous plots is so mininal that is close to 0, however, you miss some jokes and “Wow” factor obviously.

        • http://www.hamstapowah.com/ Zaron

Well yeah, you’re always gonna have your post-game cameos and hints at how the Netherworlds connect, but ultimately the most connection you get to other entries is pretty minimal. you don’t need D1 to know why Flonne being what she is in D4 is interesting and you don’t need either previous entry for really anything in D3 at all.

“Free” almost makes up for the fact I have to start over from scratch.

If i download this with my US account from the PS3, can i send and play on my EU Vita?

    Anyone know?

    • heartless141

nope. it has to be the vita’s account that has US PS+
(you EU People have good stuffs anyway :P DoA, Sleeping Dogs, Okami HD)

    • http://twitter.com/crxuchilbara MegamMix

Definitely not, Im afraid. The vita uses an “advanced’ method of user verification by locking your account to your memory card. Basically, when using your US SN, You would download the game to account “VitaUS” the gamefile is tagged with the “VitaUS” username. If you then tried to transfer to your “VitaEU” account, The system would compare the 2 account names and give you a message stating that the user account does not macth the software of the owner. I tried doing this with my Dissidia Duo extra costumes i purchased from Japan. Unfortunately the newest software updates prohibit you from transferring the files freely unless you found a way to decrypt the data and remove the user info.

    • Kevadu

You can do it, but you’ll need another memory card for your Vita to hold your US account. At which point you might as well just download it on the Vita directly.

I’m a bit confused by your question, though. Do you have PS+ for your US account? If you only have EU PS+ then it’s obviously not going to work…

  • Minos

    Meh, “Detention”

I was happy for a minute there.

  • Go2hell66

In most cases such news would make me extremely happy, but i payed 40 freakin dollars for this game :/

    • psycho_bandaid

well you also have had the chance to play it for months and you get to keep it in the event that your plus subscription lapses.

  • $36487238

Oh yeah! :) Disagea 3 for the PS+? I’m down with that!

But man… I got those other games from my PS+ VITA that I’ve not finished. Tales from Outer Space, Ninja Gaiden Sigma Plus, Retro City Rampage…. so many games! Now Disgaea 3 XD Sweet!

    Grabbing it tomorrow

  • Adam Zaorski

I hope next month we will get Disgaea in the EU, and US will get Zero Escape.

    Fair trade.

These things are both awesome and frustrating.

Awesome because Sony is providing an excellent service and making games like this more accessible for people. Frustrating because if feels like I always already own all the good stuff they give away or discount…

  • Kawens

Great! I never had the chance to play it, and now I’ll grind big time in the Item World for free. Also, I’m playing Disgaea 4 on PS3, so it’s Disgaea everywhere!

You should really read the PSBlog more often then, they announced this at the beginning of the month, it is no surprise.

  • ZekeFreek

Shame on whoever hasn’t bought this already.

  • Kitestwinblades
