Gust have released a large batch of screenshots for the recently announced Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky. We reported last week that the game is in development for thee PlayStation 3 and will allow you to play as two protagonists. While the game’s overall story will remain the same, which protagonist you choose will let you view different events and multiple endings.

You can find our full report of the game here in case you missed it. The screenshots can be viewed below. Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky is scheduled for release on June 27th in Japan.

The world and other screenshots:

  • I am surprisingly hyped for this game. I like how it’s looking so far, and I really like how Escha and Logy are looking, themselves. Very cool looking, and the graphics engine, especially for the character models, looks great this time around!

Also, it looks like the battle system is definitely more based upon Mana Khemia’s battle system. It even looks like they’re bringing back the Time Card style of turns, with empty spaces for lingering effects back in play. I’m liking that! And considering we know that there’s gonna be a six-character battle system with a front and back row like those games… Yeah. It’s no wonder they’re giving away Mana Khemia 2 with the game.

    • FitzpatrickPhillips

I seriously hope this is a hint that they might bring back Mana Khemia one day. All the elements are there.

      • Zeonsilt

Well,i hope we can have that MK2 for PS3 in USEU too,or at least as PS2 classics.

      • To me it seems like they are trying to merge the two games into one. It sounds like a reasonable compromise to me, as releasing one game to cater two fanbases will surely be cheaper production-wise.

        • Draparde

I get that feeling from this game too, honestly. and i like it~

      • MrTyrant

For me it looks more than they are trying to add some fresh air to the main games, improving the battle mechanic without losing the focus from the latest games.

      • XypherCode

        I sure hope so

  • MrTyrant

    THe game looks amazing!

  • Both of the characters look really cool, and the battle system nice. It’s cool how they told us about the multiple endings and different events as well. I really want to see Escha and Logy in action. Lets just hope this isn’t an April Fools joke lol

    • FitzpatrickPhillips

It was shown days ago. Why would you think its an April Fools joke

  • Zeonsilt

The graphics and design is beautiful, both male and female MC.
ninja edit : Gust is my favorite company this gen.

  • raymk

I like what I see so far. I hope we can get an actual trailer of the battle system sometime soon but I guess not before my characters are revealed.

  • pekikuubik

Go listen to the music samples, too. It sounds like we can expect all three composers to return, which is great news in my book. Tracks B and D are definitely by Achiwa and Shimoda, respectively. Yanagawa’s style is harder to pin down, but I’m leaning on both A and C being by him.

Looking at the screenshots… I think they’ve gone a bit overboard with the shaders.

    • That might be the effect of the new engine they’re using. But yes, they went a bit crazy there.

    • puchinri

Oh, I forgot to look for the site. Thanks for sharing this! And that’s definitely great. Each composer contributed really nice work.

  • Rogerrmark

Both this and SMTIV will be my GOTY,this year, probably.

  • JMaster3000

That Atelier Iris 3 Battle HUD :’)

  • Magicks

I’m pretty hyped about this game as well. Although at the moment, I’m praying for a smoother localization.

Also praying that we get Mana Khemia 2 as well. I haven’t played that one since I can’t find a copy; only got to play the first one. D:

  • Yup. I’m pretty much sold already. It looks to be a combination of Iris 2, the Khemia series and the main Atelier series.

  • yalissa

I never knew I needed a game so badly until now.

  • puchinri

I’m glad the two of them will be interacting quite a bit. This means I still get to play as Escha but admire Logy’s sexy looks~. While I still hope we get dual female leads one day, these two look like a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to play through the game. ♥

The world is looking really interesting too. Do we know how long after Ayesha this is?

Really nice looking designs too on the all the battle and calendar stuff~.

    • M’iau M’iaut

I am feeling a lot of Iris here. We will see if she is out to save her fated love while he hits on anything that moves.

      • puchinri

        Really? That’s interesting~.

The feeling I get from them. . . I don’t feel like he’s that type, and she doesn’t look to like who’d have a fated love, but you never know. At the same time, I’m remembering some stuff that happened in Ayesha and then reading the Atelier TVTropes page, I felt like there was a lot of those common elements from the Salburg 3 in there (some that were very blatant, and the others that were less so).

Since Regina and Ayesha got so much shiptease, I hope we get a Elie ending similar to the Romauge one. But that’s just me. . . hoping this one continues to be similar to the Salburg stuff while incorporating the Iris feels (or they could start making Gramnad references).

  • Lazulis

Awwww yeah this game looks awesome. Do a better job hyping this up TK!

Hmmmm I want to replay Mana Khemia on my psp now…

  • Nitraion

Those hit effect is like Ragnarok online old school….
hope they have more “oommp” on hit sound effect now…
and i hear they want to finishing lip-sync to chara this time hope for the best…

  • tubers

    Protruding noses? Blasphemy! xD

  • Damarius Wingfield

    • TheBlackgirl123

XD those were the first words that came out of my mouth

  • TheBlackgirl123

so you are telling me that you can switch characters. Better than those cheap-ass atelier games i bought. This is too much for a black girl to stand. I hope NIS gets this as Mugen souls Z would. I’m still hyped for the Hyperdimension Neptunia The animation though

  • Serpenter Rex

I’m getting mixed feelings from this so far. It looks fantastic, that’s true – But I can’t help but think that the main reason for getting the Atelier games is being sidelined for the sake of making it into another final fantasy. Oh, but it does look Truly fantastic.

    • pekikuubik

I see no reason to worry. They already tried that once with Iris and Mana Khemia, but people weren’t interested back then. Now they’re trying to bring gameplay elements from those subseries into a typical Atelier game. If they stray too far from what Atelier is known for, if it backfires or interest wanes again, they’ll just go back to the traditional formula.

  • XypherCode

    Looks great!

  • Wiccan1109

It’s like Dante and Vanille went in to witness protection. =O
