Fantasy Life Trademark Filed In The U.S.

By Ishaan . April 2, 2013 . 3:00pm

We previously reported that Fantasy Life had been trademarked in Europe, and now the game has a trademark in the U.S. as well, filed by developer Level 5. Fantasy Life hasn’t been announced for a U.S. or European release yet by any publishers, though.

Fantasy Life was released in Japan this past December and sold out in stores. Level 5 will release a large downloadable content update for the game this year, and have plans to continue the franchise in the future.

  • WOOT!

  • Dsvkb

Hell yes. First SMT IV was announced for NA, and now this. Today’s shaping up to be great for North American 3DS owners.

  • Elemiel

I’m going to be absolutely broke by the end of the year. 8|

  • Solomon_Kano

YES! YES! YES! Come on, Level-5!

  • Awesome! *hugs L5*

  • Brian

Oh my god finally it’s happening, I’ve been waiting for this game to get localized. It’s just a matter of when now.

  • I just hope that it’s not released too close to Animal Crossing… There’s only 24 hours in a day… : /

    • puchinri

Unless they started localization really early, I would doubt that. While it’s easy to assume that AC would have a colossal amount more text, I think it’d take more than a few months for the game to see a release here (well, here being the US).

    • Detrimont

Fantasy Life isnt in real time, it has it’s own time system, where you can go to bed so it’s morning again.

      • Coeurl

I think they meant that, between playing AC:NL and Fantasy Life, they wouldn’t have the time to do anything else.

  • Eric Harris

If this game comes out in America then there is only ONE game left of all the games I wanted, and that’s Bravely Default. Every other game has come out or been announced.

    • Except beyond the labyrinth ex troopers and super robot taisen ux. And culdcept.

      • Hraesvelgr

How do you know he wants those.

  • One small trademark here, one (potential) giant leap towards localisation for the west. :D I want so many of L5’s 3DS titles. Make it happen, L5!

  • LunarKnite

So, just need to hear localizations for Digimon Re:Digitize, Flying Fairy, and Dragon Quest VII and I’ll officially call the 3DS my lord and savior forever.

  • iRizzie

Haha wow this news just made my morning awesome.

  • Mission complete.

    • Hinataharem

    • Farid Belkacemi

      … Not yet ! :p

      • How, what would they need a trademark for then?!

        • Farid Belkacemi

Where is the official announcement ? ;)

  • $29082171

Now those people who were paranoid that this was going to become another Europe-only Level-5 game can rest.

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Best morning news lol.^_^…………Bad news for my wallet this year i guess?T_T

  • riceisnice

Great news. I just hope it doesn’t suffer the “Layton” syndrome and be localized in 1-2 years.

  • Settsuo

3DS just keeps pushing it out lol

  • Charles

  • AuraGuyChris

And Europe won’t have it because they’re already living a Fanta-
Oh, wait, that’s not the case anymore.

  • i NEED this game!!!!

  • fyi1191

Will the online play gets shutdown one day just like White Knight?

    • Zarx

That’s for the publisher to decided so there’s really no telling if online servers(assuming there’s a need for one) will get shut down, there’s still local multiplayer if it ever does.

  • noctis_nox

WOW! thank you! I have been patiently and praying for a western release specifically a USA release.
    Please be release this year.

  • NTaiyokun

I kinda wish they’d stop localizing good games for a bit so that my wallet can stop bleeding for a moment.

  • Wake

The 3DS is killing it right now. Now to complete the trifecta and have a Bravely Default announcement.

  • gamerdude

TRADEMARKED IN EUROPE!?!?!?! WOOOO! Get off my keyboard grandma!
Sorry about that I’m super excited for this game too.
The colors and the setting look amazing.

  • Pedro Tavares

    Give Europe announcement/release date :(

  • Chim_era

    Just … so happy :D

  • Space_Ghost

Nice! Level-5 stuff is quality. Now SE should bring over BD: Flying Fairy and Dragon Quest VII next. 3DS = RPG city.

  • Seijien

This is a pleasant surprise. Crimson Shroud and Fantasy Life seemed like two JRPGs the 3DS would never see outside Japan. Good job, Level-5.

  • That settles it. With Shin Megami coming out and now this too? 3Ds first.

  • Juuu

What wonderful news! ;w; Bring on the Life Sims! Not like I planned on going outside any time soon anyways. ;p

  • Akira Takeshima

    Oh yeah… this… so much this…

  • if we get it, it probably won’t be until early next year.

    • Which may be a good thing, so that it doesn’t immediately clash with Animal Crossing.

  • Codi Schumacher

supposed to be due out around halloween this year
