FuRyu, the makers of Unchained Blades have shared a video demonstrating a Vanguard fight in their upcoming 3DS card battling game, Cardfight!! Vanguard Ride To Victory.

The video of the demo starts out with Aichi Sendou greeting the player and thanking him for attending the New Year’s Trio Festival 2013, which happens to be one of the biggest Vanguard tournaments held in Japan.

In commemoration of the event, the protagonist of Cardfight!! Vanguard requests a special card fight with a slight rule adjustment.

Aichi starts on a high-note with a Limit Break ability to bolster his power, but the player responds with his own Limit Break to finish off Aichi in what is a rather quick victory.

Cardfight!! Vanguard Ride To Victory, featuring over 1,300 cards and online play will ride its way to stores on April 11th for Nintendo 3DS.

I stand and draw….FINAL TURN.LIMIT BREAK!!!!!!!!!! Superior Ride. Looks rather fun and good, Vanguard is a great series and so many good deck types…so want Kamui’s deck.

Pretty crappy series, badly constructed, bad characters, it has been criticized as just a marketing tool, they made it jsut to sell stuff to kids, the series has no charm and I’ve watch like 40 episodes before I got tired, finished the second arc.

Plus he Aichi is probably one of the Top 5 worse main characters I’ve ever seen in anime.

Well, I think the first season was pretty well done, but the second season is a complete mess. The main characters just keep losing over and over again without much growth, it just feels like they are trying to extend the show. Also, throughout the whole series Aichi is gay for Kai, and possibly vice-versa.

Miwa x Kai. Aichi x Kai, Kai x Miwa, Ren Suzugamori x Aichi/Kai. Theyre all just the best of friends. I wish Asia Circuit did have more Kai at least, though Im just up to episode 90 (english dub).

true the anime is just the marketing tool. but still i enjoyed it and enjoy the card game (although there aren’t enough clans). I would love to buy this game in the U.S. if they kept the lovely japanese voices! STAND UP! THE! VANGUARD(o)!

Stand up my Avatar!!!! Yeah I want the game too.

Ah that line is when Kai says it since he adds the “the” to his line

I’m impressed by the presentation! Though it’s supposed to be a quick card game, the rigid many-stepped phases and constant effect checking slow the game down in the real, at least for me. All of the most immediately important information is in big-ass text.
I know I shouldn’t expect so much from video games for a children’s TCG, but plenty of YGO games fuck that up. And nothing about the presentation, movements, or controls for Duel of the Planeswalkers feels right. Shame this probably won’t make it westward since it seems to be one of the neater card game games… game.

I imported it and am having fun with it so far. Granted, I’ve only had 3 fights up until now.

It’s what I expected, especially given what I’ve played of other card games on DS like Yu-Gi-Oh! Nightmare Troubadour, Yu-Gi-Oh! GX: Spirit Caller, LiveOn and Battle Spirits.

I’m really not disappointed at the moment with it. Will that change? Maybe, but probably not.

I will admit though that I might be a bit biased because I have a soft spot for TCG’s and really really enjoy Vanguard.

This is probably the first time I watch a gameplay trailer and I don’t get anything at all, usually this only happens when it’s either a teaser or an Atlus’ game story trailer. Guess I have to watch the anime now.
