Super Robot Taisen UX Has Downloadable Brainteaser Maps

By Spencer . April 10, 2013 . 1:07am

Namco Bandai will release two types of downloadable content for Super Robot Taisen UX. Campaign maps are what you would expect, characters from the series with gimmicks like "only female characters" or "a missing protagonist."

There’s another kind of additional content called Tsumesupa which give players specific rules to follow. Basically, there is a specific solution you need to deduce to clear these missions.

Completing campaign maps or the Super Robot Taisen UX brainteasers rewards players with money or skill parts you can use in the core story. Maps cost between 100 to 300 yen.

To elaborate on this, they’ve actually been releasing this since the game’s been out. There’s been 3 campaigns and a 3-puzzle pack each week, with the next pack out in probably the next 45 minutes.

Tsume Supa are the puzzles you had in SRT D and J. You’re given a stage with enemies and units in certain conditions, and are expected to beat the objective. And you are rewarded with both skill parts AND money. Puzzles usually give you 1 part and a smaller amount while campaigns give you 4 parts and more money. The kicker is that some of the skill parts available in the DLC stuff are rare, and the only other way to obtain them is apparently to obtain the secret characters while playing UX.

It is nice to see the Fafners in this game since the series barely get recognition.
