Chocobo Lattes, Alcoholic Materia Served At Square Enix’s Artnia Cafe

By Spencer . April 13, 2013 . 3:30pm

imageIf you’re planning to visit Tokyo, you can get a stack of strawberry pancakes and a cappuccino with chocobo foam art. Those are some of the items Artnia, the Square Enix cafe, serves up.

Artnia also serves cocktails based on summons and materia. Saturday night drink recipes anyone?

Based on the summon creature Shiva, this is a short cocktail with the aroma of lychee.(Contains: white rum, white curacao, lychee, lemon juice)*This drink has high alcohol content by volume.

Based on the summon creature Ifrit, this is a long cocktail with orange and blackcurrant flavors.(Contains: white rum, white curacao, orange juice, creme de cassis)

This highball is made using the medicinal plant based liquor Elixir Vegetal, and it has a dry finish.(Contains: white rum, mint, rosemary, Elixir Vegetal, soda, lime)

Blue Materia

A cocktail based on the Materia.(Contains: gin, lime juice, blue curacao)

Red Materia

A cocktail based on the Materia(Contains: gin, lime juice, creme de cassis)

Potions and High Potions are non-alcoholic beverages with mint, honey, lime, and soda. I guess it’s the white rum, Elixir Vegetal, and rosemary that restores HP and MP.

I could hear someone say “when ever Shiva is around I lose myself” in which I’d smile perversely and say “you’re not the only one” ….. I’m, weird aren’t I?

  • AuraGuyChris

I’d like a Riku with sugar, please.

  • Herok♞

But does Shiva turn into a motorcycle when you try to drink it?

    • Considering Shiva only does this in one game (13) and this is likely (due to there being materia) based of 7. So…no. Not that it would anyway.

    • Solomon_Kano

No, drinking and driving is illegal. :P

    • Eliézer Dos Santos

Maybe not a motorcycle, but she will turn more and more beatiful as you keep drinking.

    • Sylveria

No, but the price on the menu is just for the glass. You have to pay extra to get all the ingredients which are given to you from a random draw.

  • Solomon_Kano

If nothing else, I wish I could visit Japan for all of these cool video game cafes and foods they set up. I seem to recall some Slime dumplings or something like that, and the Resident Evil cafe from a while back seemed really nice as well.

  • vileBrenman

Hm. I wonder if they serve bloody Aeres.

    • Corey Owens

God damn it, I spilt my coffee.

“Potions and High Potions are non-alcoholic beverages with mint, honey, lime, and soda. I guess it’s the white rum, Elixir Vegetal, and rosemary that restores HP and MP.”

Makes me think what a “High-Potion” would be…. There must be some secret ingredient other than it not being an alcohol beverage.

    • The Hi-Potion has ginger-ale and limes, while the normal Potion has “soda” and lemons. Otherwise, I think they are the same.

    • amagidyne

Some kind of herb, you mean?

  • Suicunesol

I wonder how much they cost. :O

    • Potion: 580 yen
      Hi-Potion: 630 yen
      Shiva, Ifrit: 840 yen
      Elixir, Red/Blue Materia: 900 yen
If you want to know the price in dollars, its aprox 100 yen per dollar.

  • LOL These do look good I won’t lie.

  • So where’s the Hero Drink?

  • Suicunesol

Ah… they should have a Gysahl Greens drink…

  • Strawberry pancakes? My favorite!

…oh, and the final fantasy drinks sound pretty cool, too.

Seriously though, I want an Elixir and some High Potions.

    • Solomon_Kano

I don’t even like bananas, but I’d totes order that just for the mini-Buster.

      • Detrimont

the coolest thing about it is the CHOCOLATE mini buster

  • DuskSharkEX

    One elixir, please.

  • Ohh, maybe I can integrate this into my log of drinks to make…

  • Nick Matthews

Huh. My sister was there a few days ago when she was in japan. Didn’t realize it was that new.

  • They also have a really delicious parfait with a chocolate buster sword!
