Tekken Revolution Rating Hints At Another Tekken Title

By Spencer . April 16, 2013 . 2:10am

imageHuh, we just discovered a Tekken Arena trademark and another Tekken project pops up. This one comes from Australia where Tekken Revolution was rated by the Classification Board.

Namco Bandai held their Global Gamer’s Day event less than two weeks ago, but didn’t mention Tekken Revolution at all. Tekken Card Tournament was there along with Tales of Xillia, Project X Zone, and Dark Souls II. Hmm… perhaps this is an announcement saved for the Nintendo 3DS Direct presentation tomorrow?

    Maybe another iOS/Android game? xD

    • JonathanisPrimus

      Australia doesn’t rate phone games.

Too soon for another 3DS game IMO. 3D Prime came out last year and didn’t do so well.

    • Solomon_Kano

Yea, it is really soon for another 3DS Tekken. How poorly did Prime do?

      • neo_firenze

However poorly it did, deserved it. Give me PSP Tekken 6 any day over Prime (and yes anyone who’s about to rage, I do own both).

        • Peace Legacy

I owe both as well, and I can say that aside from 3ds better graphic and online play, the PSP version is definitely better in every single aspect.
The 3DS was barebone and would only interest serious Tekken-ners who would like to play online (the 3DS Tekken handle lag in a much better way than the PS3 version)
…also, despite how bland the 3DS version was… I clocked nearly 50 hours on it, so yeah…
          @ Jonathan
Still, the 3DS version was lazy, and the sale did reflect the effort with absolutely no surprise… but if this new Tekken got some serious effort spent on it, then I don’t even see a SINGLE REASON why it could not sells

  • Ni

I can only thing of a port of TTT2 for the Vita or something like SCBD.

  • heartless141

the PSP version of Tekken 5 is just “Tekken Dark Resurrection” without a number in it.
so my guess is this is the Vita/3DS version with one or two new character.

or it could be PS3 + Xbox + Vita, as a new expansion.

I just wanted more soul calibur, is this too much to ask? and before anyone ask SCV is a good game despite the lack of singleplayer content for more casual people

    • Solomon_Kano

Casual people are the only ones who want single-player content?

    • MrTyrant

      >casual people

“I want to play multiplayer content for hardcore gamers such as myself”

      Yeah, right.

  • cloudcaelum

Lol, where is Tekken X Street Fighter…

  • KyoyaHibari

Do you guys remember Tekken X Street Fighter? Yeah, that’s supposed to exist… (Not that I really mind, I’ve moved to DoA).

    • Erwin MadJelly

haha I moved to DOA for now too. Waiting for Tekken to be revived into my gaming life for vita. They gotta create another tekken for sure, since PSP has Tekken DR and Tekken 6 (Both did quite well)

      • Guest

        Can’t wait for PS4 DOA6 hngggggg…

      • neo_firenze

Well, PSP Tekken 6 DOES have a permanent home on my Vita already ;)

But yeah I sure wouldn’t mind a new portable entry after the bang up job they did on DR/6 for PSP.

    • SunOatBoatMatadorQuattro

It’s like if Harada was not pleased with SFxT so he is moving to other stuff.

    • cloudcaelum

      Can’t wait DOA6 for PS4, hnnggggg…

  • Solomon_Kano

I fully expect this to be a Vita port of TTT2 or a trademark for a next-gen Tekken. Sony’s rumored to be holding another PS4 event later this month/early next, so it could show up there if that’s the case.

    Rumor: http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=534387

Just today, Michael Denny (Sony WWS VP) confirmed that Sony has a number of PS4 events planned to be held throughout the year, so maybe that rumor rings true?

If there’s another Tekken for 3DS, Arena strikes me as more likely to be that one’s title for some reason.

  • Neppygear

So many Tekkens up in this bitch.

  • neo_firenze

    I’ll bite on wild speculation:

Free to play online Tekken game. Namco giving some serious franchise weight behind free to play combo of the just-announced Ridge Racer Driftopia and a Tekken game. Available for PS4 launch, maybe also showing up on “720”, PS3, and/or PC.

  • MrSirFeatherFang

Tekken for the Wii. One can dream

    • Sean ‘Geg’ Reddie

Tag Tournament 2 is on Wii U…?

      • British_Otaku

Yep, the definitive version in fact. It has Nintendo themed costumes for every character in the game (Captain Falcon, Link, Zelda, Shiek, Ganondorf, Zero Suit Samus, Mario, Luigi, Peach, Fox McCloud)

It also marks the return of Tekken Ball from Tekken 3, on top of all of the features of the alternative versions.

      • MrSirFeatherFang

I said the Wii because it’s codename was the Nintendo Revolution.

    • Erwin MadJelly

there’s alr TTT2 on Wii U, you are lacking behind a little :)

      • MrSirFeatherFang

That’s why I said I can dream. It’s impossible for it to be in the original Wii

        • Erwin MadJelly

D’oh!! I took it too over.. you were talking abt Wii not Wii-u, my mistake. And yea. it’s gonna be a hell of a dream
