Gust Talk About Atelier Escha & Logy’s Male Protagonist, Logix Fiscario

By Sato . April 19, 2013 . 10:30am

There are still many questions surrounding the two protagonists of Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky, especially the mysterious Logy who seems to be able to fight using both swords and alchemy. Dengeki sat down with two writers of the Atelier series to talk about Gust’s white-haired hero.

The two from Gust were only named as Deep (who loves Wilbell enough to call her ‘his wife’) and Writer M. They weren’t allowed to reveal too much, but they gave their own input along with little clues on what to expect.

Dengeki had a lot to talk about Logy and his appearances. They point out that most main characters in the Atelier series don’t exactly look like your traditional RPG heroes, but Logy fits that description. Deep also stated that Logy’s clothing gives him the appearance of one who lives in the wilderness.

One of the big questions was with regard to how exactly will Logy be using alchemy combined with his sword. It’s been said that he can fully use alchemy, but it hasn’t been revealed as to what extent he can use it and how it will come into play in his combat style with his sword.

Deep also touched on a popular subject that’s been circulating around the internet about Escha and Logy = Eschatology (In Japanese it could also be read as Escha To Logy, which would mean Escha and Logy), which comes from the Greek words Eschatos (last) and Logy (the study of). He didn’t confirm the reason behind their names but he said he believes that Atelier Ayesha: The Alchemist of Dusk didn’t exactly have the ambience of the word ‘dusk’ but expects it to fully stand out in Escha and Logy’s upcoming adventure.

Atelier Escha & Logy: Alchemists of the Dusk Sky is slated to be released on June 27 for PlayStation 3.

That’s some pretty cool information. I’m really curious about how the story will unfold.

I feel that I disagree with their feeling/stating that Logy’s clothes look like he lives in the wilderness though. To me, he looks like someone prepared to travel [through the wilderness], but looks distinctly like someone from the/a city.

Also, it didn’t dawn on me until just now that the game is coming out this June.

  • Rudy Soto

Jesus, not only does he look badass, he has a badass surname. I mean, look at it, “Fiscario” , saying it certainly leaves a pleasant feeling in your mouth.

On a more serious note, though it leaves some Atelier fans with apprehension, I was rather interested when I heard the addition of Logy as a second protagonist. I wasn’t too into the image that the covers of the Atelier Alchemist gave out, so I was never really eager to try them out, though I was tempted with Ayesha. But with the addition of this guy, I’ve become interested in this game, as well as playing other games the series, starting with Rorona.

I can’t say for sure, but I’m certain others feel similarly. One thing’s for sure, Gust managed to attract some players who weren’t all too interested in this series.

  • Starting to remind me of Felt and Viese from Atelier Iris 2

    • Sebastian Lothian

      Good, because I liked Felt.

  • he looks like a wildarms char… I WANT THIS SO MUCH

    • M’iau M’iaut

How pray tell does he look like someone from WA? None of them had their guns attached to their hand. Rudy’s hair isn’t white. And the other one — you damn well know you are behind me, Ash, Zero and Raioh in the twin tails line.

      • CirnoTheStrongest

I honestly agree that he looks like he’d fit in a Wild Arms game

        • M’iau M’iaut

I just know better than to let him get too far gone. Next he will be announcing a new round of victims for his ‘harem’. There is a reason is twitter nickname is ‘Wildy’ and it is only partly because of his name here.

      • Zero_Destiny

I guess the jacket kinda looks Wild Arms-y to me, with the leather(?) and all. lol Probably more of a later Wild Arms though then the early ones.

If I had to say the first thing that came off the top of my head though, I would say he reminds me of Shadow Hearts. ^^’

      • First, im talking about Logia, i said “he”, so i dont understand the meaning of that “them” in what u wrote.

And, Since when a char just having a gun makes him become a WA char :/ , if you played some WA games to some extend you should understand without me having to explain it.
Besides, there are also chars with swords in WA games, and BIONIC ARMS AND BAZOOKA ARMS, SO DONT BE PREJUDICED… Just because is related to the cowboy stuff makes it about guns exclusive? bzzzttt!

He is closer to WA3~5’s designs

If you want to compare by hair color, here you go or

    • Raoni Marques

Looking at his artwork, and checking some of my artwork archive, he could definitely be a character from a Wild Arms games. He’s never gonna be as cool as Jet Enduro though. That guy was just badass, and his design is among my top 10.

Too bad we’ll probably never see a Wild Arms sequel again, and Jet Enduro will never be on another game =(

      • Yeah T-T dont lose hope tho, the company still exist!

        • Raoni Marques

It was pretty sad to not have a new installment of the series this gen. It used to be a great rpg, and it was really sad to see how bad they sold…

I want another one like Wild Arms 3!

  • Sentsuizan_93

    Escha…. Logy….
    Escha to Logy……
I see what you did there Gust ;D

    • AnimeLeirus .

Is a part of theology, physics, philosophy, and futurology concerned with what are believed to be the final events of history, the ultimate destiny of humanity — commonly referred to as the “end of the world” or “end time”.
Yeah! The beginning of the end of Dusk Trilogy!

  • MrTyrant

They didn’t say anything important in fact I think they didn’t say anything about him at all. I wouldn’t have wrote an article about this. Honest.

    • “They weren’t allowed to reveal too much, but they gave their own input along with little clues on what to expect.”

They did say some things, but you’re gonna have to read between the lines a bit.

      • MrTyrant

“Anything important” I said and I repeat myself once a again. He didn’t even answer the question directly.

        • If you want details, you can go for the original interview on Dengeki Online. They have a 5-page interview in Japanese, which, I assume, Sato abridged/summarized here.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

    Rock form SNK?

    • AkuLord3

Hopefully a Rising Storm special? :3

      • ShawnOtakuSomething

    • Raoni Marques

Now that you mentioned it, I noticed they have some similar stuff. He’s not ever gonna be as cool as Rock Howard though. Too bad we haven’t seen Rock in a new game in ages. He’s by far my favorite SNK character.

      • ShawnOtakuSomething

        same :{

  • Ben Chau

This hand of mine glows with an awesome power

  • Visa Vang

That Logy skill looks pretty cool.

  • Naux

Wait, does that thing on the top of Logy’s screenshot remind anyone of Mana Khemia? Oh, please give me that card system. *-*

    • He reminded me to Vayne from MK, but more badass somehow.

    • Phlo

Best battle system in any Gust game. I’d love to see that return!

  • Nitraion

Hmm White hair and red coat….
    Where I seen that before?

    • MrSirFeatherFang

      Santa Claus

      • Nitraion

        Hmm good one…. lol
        I refer to this.. :p

      • Naux

        I can’t stop laughing. Hahaha!

    • F/ SN/EXTRA Archer? ;P

  • The exact protagonist and plot that I’m looking for in an Atelier series.
