Hatsune Miku Project Diva Arcade Future Tone Touch Sliders Into Arcades

By Spencer . May 23, 2013 . 11:20pm

Sega has a new Hatsune Miku arcade machine for Japan. Hatsune Miku Project Diva Arcade Future Tone boasts more polygons and detailed textures for the game models. The development team also created new programming logic for the hair so it looks more dynamic.

The big change in gameplay is the touch slider. When arrow shaped notes pop up you slide your hand on the panel.

A location test for Hatsune Miku Project Diva Arcade Future Tone will kick off in Club Sega Akihabara this weekend. Players will be able to try "Cat Food" and "Unhappy Refrain."

I choked on that title the first time I tried to read it. 10 words just to describe the object of the sentence? Daaaamn.

That looks impressive. Though I wonder why they always add that little shiny (lamination?) look to the Diva games. It does give them that doll like look, but I like the way the graphics look on the PS3/Vita version of the game. Maybe it’s just me? Or maybe it’s the youtube videos? I’ll never know since I’ll probably never play the arcade versions of the Diva games. (Living in the US and whatnot)

Oh lord, Unhappy Refrain on Extreme on the Vita…Since my hands are bigger then normal I can’t just constantly time notes with one hand (the way I normally play, and has worked up until that song) because my hand cramps up.

Yeah, I’m not a fan of that glossy look in the arcade version either. And the button layout doesn’t make much sense to me. I’m sure I’d get used to it if I played it more, but it’s frustrating to have the buttons labeled like a Playstation controller but layed out in a row like that! I can play on Extreme on PSP/Vita, but in the arcade I get smoked on normal songs because I can’t process the buttons fast enough.

I’ll admit to that being entirely my problem, though!

:'( there arent enough tears to properly display how sad i am about never being able to play this

      You’re not alone…….

I like that slide thing…Hope they add this too for console/handhel ver ver…
the star slide thing in F is too easy to get….

Bet the next VITA game (if there ever will be) will also feature this dragging directionaly across the screen.

    • Haseyo

Theatrhythm Final Fantasy has already done that so it wouldn’t be something completely new. Would be fun though. The tapping for the Star notes in Project DIVA f is hella annoying on harder songs.

It’s because you swipe, not tap.

  • Neppygear

I was wondering when PjD Arcade would get all Diva F’d up.
