    The heck is ‘Toy Day’?

    • Silver Citizen

      Christmas. They’re being politically correct.

      • Charles

        /facepalm

      • ShadowDivz

I understand some people don’t celebrate the holiday but do we really have to dance around the name just so they feel comfortable?

I can’t say my holiday’s name because it might make you(no YOU per se) uncomfortable? That makes me uncomfortable.

        • Charles Parker

          1. It’s not that big a deal. You can just say Christmas and anyone else that plays the game will know what you’re talking about. They aren’t going to be all confused like, “They added Christmas to the game?! Holy shit!”

          2. Eh, it is a little silly to dance around the name. Even if it was a decision made in Japan, they celebrate the shit out of Christmas over there. Just not religiously is all.

          • ShadowDivz

I don’t think anyone celebrates christmas religiously anymore. It’s usually about
            A)the things you get
            B) the people you are with.

I don’t see the harm in being “PC”, especially since in this case, it is more accurate. But DavidES is right too, quite a few holidays and events get a special name anyway.

          • ShadowDivz

Im not bagging on animal crossing,it does seem appropriate here. Helps with the immersion in my experience.
I just mean in general people avoid saying christmas, like when i interned at a grocery store my manager told me to avoid saying xmas. And i was super confused cuz i always say merry xmas.
            PC? Precautious?

          • puchinri

Well, it is proper. Christmas puts a high emphasis on Christianity (obviously), and that has its own bag of worms really (it’s part of our country’s cultural default, to keep it simple).

I just say happy holidays, because it acknowledges everyone’s beliefs if they have one, and for those that don’t, well, it’s not as strong.
(PC=Policitally Correct, which is an annoying term in itself.)

          • ShadowDivz

Makes sense, but growing up for me. It’s always been merry xmas or Happy Hanukah.
And lately i swear xmas is about sales.

          • puchinri

Yeah, somewhat the same for me.
And it is, sadly. It loses a lot of its value with each year.

All holidays get a ‘special’ name though.

    • ShawnOtakuSomething

Christmas Christmas Christmas Christmas ,or Xmas, or Gift day

  • Xmas Lopez

So soon! I can’t wait to play the heck out of this. I was kind of disappointed when they took out holidays in Wild World, so I’m psyched that they decided to keep them all in for this handheld version. Also, is Gracie in this game? I haven’t seen her boutique on main street.

    Soon…….( ̄へ ̄)
