Lowee Represents, Blanc Takes The Stage In Hyperdimension Idol Neptunia PP

By Spencer . May 30, 2013 . 12:02am

Hyperdimension Idol Neptunia PP brings the CPUs like Noire, Neptunia, and Blanc into a new game genre. Compile Heart made an [email protected]-like game where you train the CPUs to be Gamindustri super stars. While Blanc sings and dances you control the stage effects and camera.

Just like the other Neptunia games, there are plenty of event voiced scenes in Hyperdimension Idol Neptunia PP. Compile Heart will release the Vita game in Japan on June 20. It hasn’t been announced for the West, but I think Hyperdimension Idol Neptunia PP has more than a fair chance of getting localized since NIS America brought over all of the Neptunia titles so far.

I don’t think even NISA is stupid enough to bring this over.

    • Kevadu

Call me crazy, but I’m honestly more interested in this game than the RPGs (which seem really grindy and repetitive). They’re at least trying something different (OK, they’re aping Idolmaster but there are still few enough games like that that it feels novel).

      • Flandre Scarlet

This is a lazy cash grab with worse production values than the RPGs. The singing voices of all these girls sound awful and it looks like it was made in MMD or worse. They’re slapping the same V models into the game and making them dance and sing.

They aren’t just ‘aping’ [email protected], they’re pretty much just ripping off of it. Except it’s worse, because it’s Compile Heart.

        • AkuLord3

Well yeah its also being made by Tamsoft so no surprise that its they’re reusing the build from V, I disagree with the singing if you don’t like its that’s you but others will enjoy it. And really there’s a quite few games that have the similar dancing/singing than just [email protected] (pretty much its own genre) so nothing wrong with doing that.

          “Because it’s Compile Heart”
Opinion=Void, Because you have none, You are just hating on it for no reason

          • Flandre Scarlet

I enjoyed the Neptunia RPG series, and have enjoyed their other titles like Agarest in the past.

That doesn’t mean I have to blindly sing their praises or pretend their games don’t have loads of problems.

Problems like their inability to get framerate right even this late in the generation, horrible balance problems resulting in bosses being too strong in the later game and there being no strategy whatsoever in their RPGs, grind everywhere to the point of monotony, DLC practices that would make Capcom blush (Level Cap DLC, extra characters, extremely powerful items, fanservice armor), and reusing nearly all their assets from previous games in addition to recoloring enemies multitudes of times.

They’re not a good studio. They can make some good mindless fun, but it’s pretty obvious now that they’ve gotten something they can make some money on they’re milking it for all it’s worth.

No one does, But people like what they are doing, That is different from “blindly singing” and being impressed by what they do

That is also a problem with almost 99% of the other games, The only RPGs actually require strategy this gen is are the Souls series, Of what i have played , As for DLC, Yes the Level Cap thing is stupid, Many games do have DLC characters, Capcom games have even more DLC characters, Yet you are complaining about 2(Well, Until later ones for Victory, But those are actually new characters, Not disc locked characters) And the items are for those who say “Bosses are too hard and need to grind for them”, Tales series have even worse DLC, At least the Neptunia ones are ok, Not something stupid like half of the other games

There is no good studio, The only one i can actually call “good” is Monolith Soft, All the older studios do worse games now, Compile Heart are new, And they are actually improving instead of making crappy games

          • PreyMantis

“The only RPGs actually require strategy this gen is are the Souls series”
You need to play more games like Fire Emblem: Awakening, Eterian Odyssey 4, etc.

            Don’t have a 3DS/Vita so… Yeah, But i guess those do too

          • Raharu95

            *Level Caps…. Yes That’s Stupid
*DLC Chracters, Capcom does that, but way worse since they do Disc Locked Content and pretty much Sell us the Keys
*Framerate… Yeah, they do need to work on their frame rate, but they are honestly not the worse on that department, specially considering Studios that use DRM, which if I remember correctly, slows frame rate

*DLC costumes are standards for everyone, so that does not even goes against them
*And the DLC Weapons are just there for being there, they are not a necessity.
In my opinion, on the scale of good and bad, they would go more towards good, as they actually try to improve their entries in their series after each interaction. Even if their DLC practice do look money grabbing, they are far from the worse out there.
Considering what I already said, your point of them milking the franchise go null, as Milking it would mean putting no effort in the hope that the name alone will make the sales. But they clearly put in some work towards their entries. Everything else you said is your opinion, however~

          • Keima88

And the thing about DLC is that you dont have to buy it. If you dont like it dont buy it ^^.

          • Raharu95

I do agree that DLC is kind of annoying, since some developers have used it Maliciously and sold stuff as DLC that should have been in the game in the first place. Compile hearts is one of the better developers on that sense. ^^

          • TheExile285

I seriously don’t understand why this is so hard for people to get…

        • Keima88

Argh! Seiza now! I will teach you something nice.

Saying that Tanaka Rie cant sing…

Her singing voice is godly. GODLY I tell you! Her singing fields of hope is what makes gundam seed bearable to watch for me.

    • You never know man…… just look at Miku / The Vocaloids. Producing goddesses could be the next big thing XD

      • Flandre Scarlet

Project Diva is an actual rhythm game, though. This is just otaku pandering.

  • Lol, seeing Blanc / White Heart sing and dance sure was quite the experience =^_^=

  • Keima88

Let her sing the opening of nyaruko and its an instant win! (Asumi Kana <3)

    (」・ω・)」Uhh~! (/・ω・)/Nya~! (」・ω・)」Uhh~! (/・ω・)/Nya~! (」・ω・)」Uhh~! (/・ω・)/Nya~! (du-du-dududun~)

    (/・ω・)/Let's nya!

  • Raharu95

I can’t wait for Vert to take the Stage… I do wonder if the Candidates or the Makes will get a song or two as well? I know the series centers around the Goddesses, but without the makers, the plot of the games cold not happens ^^’

  • TheExile285

Do you guys think this is import worthy?

  • Aristides

    Give us Localization!!!!!!! =D

  • Learii

    Blanc dance funny

  • kaizin

well i saw what I wanted to see *readies wallet*

  • Dylan

Is this game made by the same people who did Dream C Club? I notice a lot of the same dance moves.

  • ZekeFreek

It really doesn’t have a fair chance. NISA is not taking risks these days and an Idol game on VITA sounds like a risk to me. There’s a reason Victory only has about 1/5th of it’s lines dubbed. Neptunia isn’t selling well even by their standards.

  • ShadowDivz

I want to see the manager interactions and scheduling appearences and such.
