Club Nintendo EU Lets You Gift Monster Hunter 3U To A New 3DS Owner

By Ishaan . June 3, 2013 . 11:45am

Club Nintendo in Europe are running a “Monster Hunter: Gift & Hunt Together Promotion”.

If you register the Nintendo 3DS version of Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate with Club Nintendo before 10:59pm (UK time) on June 30th, you’ll receive a recommendation code, which you can pass on to a friend.

Then, if your friend registers a Nintendo 3DS or 3DS XL system between 11:01pm (UK time) on 3rd June and 10:59pm (UK time) on 31st July 2013, and enters the Recommendation Code before 10:59pm (UK time) on 5th August 2013, he or she will be eligible to receive a free Download Code for Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate on 3DS.

If you already happen to own Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate and have registered it with Club Nintendo Europe, the Recommendation Code will become available on the Club Nintendo website from 3pm (UK time) on June 3rd.

More details on the promotion are available here.

I really like how they’re pushing Monster Hunter hard over here, throwing it into giveaway promotions and giving it hardware bundles and the like. If nothing else, it proves that Nintendo are dedicated to promoting third parties.

  • Dyne

If i right, you can buy 3 games to get a 4nd game free and if you pick MH then you get a 2nd copy of MH free.

Am i the only who thinks that Nintendo got no other plans for the 3ds right now so they are trying this?

    • malek86

You only get a free copy for someone who has registered a 3DS in a timespan of 8 weeks. Essentially, it means more like “you have bought MH3? Good, now go convince someone to buy a 3DS, and we’ll give you a second copy for free”.

      • By the sound of how he phrased it, I think Dyne didn’t really read the article thoroughly or just misunderstood something. The promotion Dyne mentioned is probably this one here:

        • malek86

Oh, I know about that one. Although, the ToU state that:

“Product registrations for the participation in this promotion must not be combined with other promotions.”

So I guess that, if you get MH3 as your fourth free game, maybe you won’t get the recommend code? I’m not sure. I guess someone will definitely try though.

  • J_Joestar

wish this was available in NA as well

    • gamefreak86

      Agreed. Pretty fuckin sick.

  • JMaster3000

Well one of my friend gave me the MH code but…. i registered my XL last year >.>

    • 324234

Buy a 3DS Pin code on ebay for like $8, cheap copy of MH for you

  • FullMetalAlcopop

I literally only bought and registered a new XL last week. Shit.

  • ReveurIngenu

Has anybody tried using the recommendation code on a 3DS that’s already been registered? I know they say it has to be registered within those 8 weeks, but I would still attempt to use the code. Bugs HAVE been known to appear on Nintendo’s site (more recently, there was a bug with the two Mario Kart Trophies, forcing Nintendo to take them down while they fixed the problem).

  • Autilian

Lucky me for not registering my launch 3DS :D
Unlucky me for not having a friend with Monster Hunter 3DS >.<

  • Keima88

Hmm havent registering my 3DS XL MH edition yet…

Waiting for Animal crossing to get my free game and still wondering wich game I should get. (Already got FE awakening)

Gues it going to be Luigi ^^.

  • Juuu

Now THERE’S how you promote a MonHun game. While I believe that the game can be really engaging solo, it’s no secret that a lot of the fun comes from a sense of camaraderie with other hunters, which is why it’s taken off in such a big way in Japan. Wish the US had a similar promo–I’d totally gift to a friend so I’d have someone new to hunt with!

  • that is really cool!

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Sad that they don’t do this promotion on U.S/Asia.T_T I would love to register my new 3DS XL here.^_^

  • I saw this via e-mail from the Nintendo Newsletter yesterday afternoon :)

Does anyone know if you’d get more than one code if you have both the digital and physical copies of MH3U?

Also, as @ReveurIngenu:disqus mentioned about bugs, I wonder if they prevent those who claim a MH3U code given by a friend from getting a gift code themselves. As long as your friend registers their 3DS XL and then claims the code by 30th June, you could get a chain going? Just a thought… :p
