these games are than permanently urs right? if yes, than i feels its better than ps plus.

    • https://twitter.com/Ni_Go_Zero_Ichi Project 2501

Yes. You are essentially buying these games with your Coins. I’m not sure it’s really comparable to PS Plus though, since it’s a customer loyalty/rewards program rather than a premium subscription service.

      • RovCal

well whatever it is, i like it.

        • dragoon_slayer12

Redeem the game you want, and it’s yours. Delete it from your console, it’s still in your download history, so you can redownload.

    • benhofb

Yeah, once you spend your Club Nintendo points (which are earned from buying things retail and digitally) you have them forever (or until your SD card breaks!).

      • RovCal

        wow this is pretty sweet.

Does Club Nintendo still have that system where Coins that you’ve held for more than a year expire every June? If so I should probably get something this month, and I don’t have F-Zero X, so…

    • benhofb

OH SCHMIDT, THAT WAS A THING? Uh, I really hope not. I just got Platinum last month! AFAIK, none of my coins from last year are missing, but…

      • https://twitter.com/Ni_Go_Zero_Ichi Project 2501

Only Coins you’ve earned in the past year count toward gold/platinum status anyway, so it’s not like this will deprive you of any of the year-end rewards.

        • dragoon_slayer12

I’m new to the service (signed last year), so the rules are relatively fresh. Coins expire every 2years, but status resets every year

  • benhofb

I feel like they keep recycling the same rewards every so often T_T. Metroid 2 was a reward in January… But hey, at least they do this! Hopefully someday they’ll offer the Zelda games or something.

i can see manys ppl dying on white roar 2 and big hand, good times =w=

I wish I didn’t waste my coins on that stupid Wii controller holder.

  • dragoon_slayer12

AHHHHH!!!! Why is it that the eShop choices are either games I don’t want or bought when it first released!!?? I wish they would do more choices, or do exclusive games you can’t purchase on the eShop (like 1 GBA game every month). That would be awesome. I’d keep buying every possible Nintendo game just to afford the exclusives every month….

Anyways, I mite get Mario 3 for my kids wii

    Gonna grab FZero X

  • ElAbuelo69

    Why not for WiiU?

    • Repede91

You can still play these on Wii U.

      • ElAbuelo69

not optimized like mmx or smw tho, brother.

        • Repede91

The added VC features are nice; but I just played F-Zero X on the “Wii shell” recently and it plays fine. Same with MMX I played it on Wii 2 years ago and am playing through it again currently on Wii U. I haven’t seen any real difference.

          • ElAbuelo69

Can you play Wii games on the tablet?

          • Repede91

Good point, I just never use off screen play because I think the sound is of very low quality. I often forget it`s an option.

  • neo_firenze

I am never interested in buying Virtual Console games since those are also available just by paying for them.

There are other Club Nintendo items that are exclusive and you can’t get anywhere else (other than maybe inflated prices second hand). That’s how I got the two DS Game and Watch Collection releases and my three 3DS 18-card cases. I’ll save my coins for exclusive stuff like that ;)

    • Aoshi00

I agree, one could always buy these from vc, should save the coins for the exclusive goodies. I got two 3DS card cases too, the reversible covers are awesome, now I still want more but out of stock.. I like the Mario Luigi pouches too, t shirt, remote holders. The most expensive and rare one was the gold nunchuk to match with the remote. I redeemed a pikmin tote bag from Nintendo jpn too. Almost make filling out the surveys worth it.. Oh I got the space invader poker cards and erasers from S-E too, wasn’t sure if I registered enough games… Sony and MS should reward loyal customers with goodies like this… I like redeeming the blu-ray magic codes or submit movie tix to Disney too..

Also the US nintendo codes/coins are better. If you don’t enter the codes from Jpn games w/in a certain amount of time they would expire.. I had wasted so many Jpn codes/coins w/o knowing it *.*.. still saving for that Mario & co. statue..

    • Repede91

It’s be cool to see more Club Nintendo games like Grill-Off with Ultra Hand and the Doc Lewis game.

    • Ace Trainer Chris

I’d agree if Club Nintendo’s western counterpart got as many of the cool stuff Japan’s did. I’m still bitter that the North American Club Nintendo didn’t get the SNES-styled Classic Controller, while Europe did.

Outside of getting games for free, I’ve only really used my coins on just the 3DS card case, since that’s the only thing that’s had my interest and was really worth getting.

    • https://twitter.com/Ni_Go_Zero_Ichi Project 2501

Yeah, but all the non-game items on Club Nintendo are basically novelty trinkets, only worthwhile as collector’s items. The games actually have practical utility, and can save me money on stuff I actually want, so I’m very happy that they were introduced to the lineup.

nice… now where is F-Zero U or whatever you may call it

  • puchinri

I just bought Metroid II, but just as well because the coins can go to F-Zero now~.

  • Kalis Konig

Not really free sense you are still using a form of “currency” to get them lol. Picked up F-Zero X this afternoon. this months selection is really great, as was last months SMRPG. Hopefully this trend continues.

    • NimbusStev

Haha yeah my thoughts exactly. My first thought was “whoa, is Nintendo providing some kind of PS+ type service completely for free!?” Then reality kicked in.

  • anthony apduhan

    Searching for the Truth…

  • isfuturebright

God.. why nothing for the Wii U? e.e
