Your Mission Is To Defeat Soul Sacrifice’s Gods

The forces behind Soul Sacrifice’s sob stories are coming to challenge wizards from Comcept’s somber world. On July 18th you will be able to fight Cert, the God of Chaos, and Romulus, the God of Order.

Before the two Soul Sacrifice gods arrive on the PlayStation Store, you can cross swords with the Iron Maiden. She was originally a plain woman that longed for a popular knight. One day, that knight came home from battle with a deep wound. Many women came to tend for the knight’s every desire, but the plain woman wished so dearly to even talk to the night. She decided to give her own life force – her own blood – which she believed would be the best medicine to heal the wounded knight. She donned a torture device on her head and drained out blood. Sadly, her dream to even talk to the knight never came true and now her spirit is a ghost that cries tears of blood. Don’t feel too bad for the Iron Maiden because she’s one of the many monsters out to kill you in Soul Sacrifice. If you have the Japanese version of Soul Sacrifice you can fight the Iron Maiden on July 4.

I love games with sick back stories like this. I need to get a Vita at some point.

    • jujubee88

Used VITA. 120 bucks. Free shipping.:

A few hours left (until it expires).

      • MrRobbyM

Was considering it until it expired just now apparently :/

        • jujubee88

Ouch. When I posted it, it still had a few hours left.

Um. Yeah. Kind of gunna be hard to come across another VITA that cheap (unless you really look hard I think)

        • tubers

120-130 bucks ain’t so rare.. just frequent cowboom/slickdeals.. I’m sure it has happened at least 4 times this past 6 months.

  • vileBrenman

Holy crud! That’s freaking sweet! We get to fight the two gods!

    • Jazlynn Lim

I don’t get it though; why do we have to fight the good brother too? :/
Oh right. It wouldn’t make sense for Chaos players to kill the younger one.

      • Th4Freak

Take a look at SS story and you will understand why.

      • neocatzon

To avoid spoiler, read about druid and sorcerer origin once more.

  • Neophoton

Liking the content so far, I’ve yet to pick up Soul Sacrifice, but it’s a must-get for my Vita.

    • jujubee88

You will sink a lot of hours into the single player alone. It’s def worth picking up for under $40 bucks; you’ll get your moneys worth.

  • Dokuro

Soul sacrifice is so fucking awesome! and these DLC’s wow! im speechless.

  • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

I’m going to assume the two gods are going to be hard as hell to beat but I look forward to the challenge later.

Also another sad story, another hideous monster to put down. Too bad for the Iron Maiden, but she’s gotta go too.

  • Ben Sylvia

Oh, I thought it was one boss with 2 forms, 2 separate bosses is even better!

And Romulus looks like you fight him in the sexy Luna Wasteland!

Edit: Those 2 better have some epic level spells and offerings.

    • TheExile285

yeah, the one thing I haven’t enjoyed about the DLC bosses is that their reward offerings have mostly been underwhelming.

Wraith is probably the single most challenging boss for me atm but her reward only works if the boss hasn’t already seen you and only last 4 seconds (M version).

Something like that might work in GEB but its useless in SS.

      • Ben Sylvia

I personally thought Dullahan’s head bombs were pretty badass.

And Ouroboros’ is awesome by proxy of being a blitz spell.

Next 2 sound boring, but I’m looking forward to Beezlebub’s.

  • Jah-keem York

By the way guys, this is the final Soul Sacrifice content Iron Maiden, is the last DLC out of the monster group, and after that now we fight the 2 gods of Soul Sacrifice? It was nice while it lasted~ like really nice :)

    • ekibyougami

I hope not. They mentioned they’d release Free and Paid DLCs before. I wouldn’t mind if they’ll have paid DLC bosses and other contents as long as they continue releasing new content to add more gamplay hours.
I still want more Sanctuary-related quests! Hoping there would be like Avalon vs Sanctuary missions or even PVP (doubt it; wishful thinking)

  • Jesse Torres

Were the other dlc available for a limited time? cause i cant find them.

  • xXDGFXx

Gotta tell ya, watching the video against the gods reminds me what I hate the most about Soul Sacrifice: Near undodgeable moves. Slime rain, cyclops hedgehog, homing harpy… the final boss battle….

    • TheExile285

      Falcon Feather :P

Slime rain sucks, cyclops hedgehog can be dodged with evasive
offerings and use a Blaze Blub on Harpy’s suck attack. She will foolish eat it and stun for a sec. If you don’t have one, use Falcon Feather.

I can’t remember anything about Final Boss being undodgeable. That move where he sacrifices someone isn’t like a normal ally sacrifice and doesn’t cover the whole area.

I’m guessing you haven’t Wraith. Now SHE has some near undodgeble moves, lol. Hardest boss for me so far.

      • xXDGFXx

Well, the final boss battle is more of “LETS SUPER SUMMON SEVERAL GIANT FUCKERS TO SURROUND ME AND I’LL PELT YOU WITH WITH MASSIVE AOE SPELLS WHILE THEY SLAM YOUR SPINE INTO THE GROUND AS YOU GET NEAR!” My sacrifices are completely limited during this scenario, this is no longer a battle of skill.

My main issue with the harpy is not the vacuum, it’s when she starts flying and even when I roll out of it’s trajectory, it angles into me.

        • TheExile285

Yeah Harpy and Griffin suck. I always make it a priority to destroy one of their wings ASAP. Unfortunately that didn’t work with the Griffin x Phoneix pact >_>

I can usually dodge Harpy/Griffin flying attack if I dodge towards them as they attack.

          • Syn

That is correct, most people feel the need to use offerings when a little skill and experience is all it will take to figure out how to dodge

        • Syn

You need to roll forward to dodge that attack, as for the final boss fight, its really more a matter of patience when dealing with the summons, but the fight itself is not too tough after you reach level 40(combined total level that is)

      • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

Leviathan is pretty much undodgeable even with the offering to go underground I often get hit anyway. Add to that the fact that it’s almost a one shot, one kill and the game becomes kind of frustrating~.

        • TheExile285

The full body swipe can be dodged by going to the farthest corners on the right and left side of the map.

The other attacks can just be avoided with a falcon feather or moving to a corner of the map.

        • Ferrick

it is dodgeable with the underground one, especially the one that you get from the wyverns, you just have to time it right and not mash the X button

        • Ram

I use blitz to dodge Levi’s attacks, it’s much more reliable than those underground spells since you are invincible while doing the 3 hit blitz combo

        • Syn

Leviathan IS dodgeable, you simply run to the corner sides of the stage and roll when it comes around, I have been able to dodge all attacks from all the fiends (5/95, you learn to dodge well with that build) Even the are effect moves like Hydra’s poison can be countered by using the poison armor. No need for offerings, its just practice that you need.

  • Ben Sylvia

I wish all the Archfiends got large images like the DLC AFs.

  • TheExile285

lol, this game never stops getting better.

BTW, am I the only one wanting some DLC costumes? I’d actually be willing to pay $1 each for some well designed rainments. Maybe when the paid DLC starts….

Edit: Iron Maidens design looks a lot cooler than Dullhallan.

    • xXDGFXx

I’ve been sticking with the hunter rainment since I got it. Don’t really like the other ones…

      • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

All the railments are pretty corny or just lame (furry paws covering boobs, really?). The railments used by the wizards in the game are a lot better, Illecebra’s in particular with her jester-ish looks~.

Of course, you could reach 99/1 or 1/99 and never again worry about looking like a clown~.

    • Ferrick

don’t mind me, i’m still stuck with max holy mode’s “Bare it naked~” style >.>

    • Ferrick

don’t mind me, i’m still stuck with max holy mode’s “Bare it naked~” style >.>

    • Ben Sylvia

I’d like some of the outfits used by the AI partners that you get from the original version of each Archfiend.

      Like the Kraken’s pirate outfit.

  • Cameron Ward

Really? They are using the same design for Iron Maiden that they already have for another monster?! LAZY

    • TheExile285

They have been doing this since the beginning. That is what all these types of games do? Ever played GEB or MH?

      Leprechaun = Dwarves redesign

      Beelzebub = Elf Queen redesign

      Cait Sith = Wraith redesign

      Basilisk = Valkyrie redesign

      ect, etc

      • Cameron Ward

Yeah yeah I know, but with how creative they got with the monsters in this game and could have made each monster unique but no. not that it detracts from the overall gameplay, but I kind of wish they changed this kind of game design

        • Lexaus_the_Alchemist

That would require new models, animations, assests, etc. being created for each and every monster. Plus these are free DLC, so I wouldn’t expect them to be completely new.

          • Cameron Ward

true, but when your free DLC has two pairs of monsters that look the same, its a bit tedious in the fact that you are basically buying the same monster for free.

          • Heh, buying the DLC For free. Well, I’m sure they will give you a refund for the DLC if you ask.

          • Cameron Ward

            >_< yeah…..i just meant downloading the DLC for two free monsters that look the same is a bit much. especially if there is nothing different about the monster in question

          • TheExile285

The monsters are usually different. Mintuar and Orge have different attack patterns and attacks

          • Cameron Ward

            well, thats good then :)

  • Talearc

Hope they will avaiable in R3 ASAP LOL

  • so these 2 babies are the one that twisting other people wishes? make sense, since they are still BABIES.

    • Tyler Beale

Well, Black Rock Shooter (lol), that makes about as much sense as Shadow Mitsuo in Persona 4…

  • d19xx

It’s good to see a Sony published game continuously being pushed and promoted like this. I feel bad for some of their games that are just sent out to die out there…

  • Vash bane

sorry for cursing but I must..

them big ass babies have returned D: they remind me too much of the watchers ..

  • Have fun guys, I’m retired

    • TheExile285

  • Tyler Beale

(US version) I can’t seem to figure out how to access the DLC I want.

Well, I DO know how, it’s just that when I go to the DLC section of Forgotten Pacts (or whatever it’s called, I can’t remember off the top of my head), I can see various sub-sections. Within each of those sections are 2 unnamed Phantom Quests in which I have to revive memories using Mind’s Eye.

So I’m confused on how to access the actual bosses (by which I will probably be murdered) and the other quests in a DLC pack. Also, do I have to defeat those monsters that disrupt my memory revivals?

Also I haven’t finished the game yet, so no spoilers in regards to the SP campaign…

    • Ram

I’m confused, you said you don’t now how to get to the bosses, but as I can see, you just did it yourself.

    • TheExile285

You have to actually play those lost pacts. That will unlock the actually pact. Beat those and you get 2 more and so on.

In the lost pacts you have search for memories pieces. Use “Minds Eye” (down on d-pad) and look for the blue auras.

Press Start to see how many you have left. You can’t kill anything in these pacts but monsters can still harm you so try to do it as quickly as possible.

  • artemisthemp

I hope Sony will keep up the trend with releasing new DLC every 2 week, so I can keep going back :)

Iron Maiden look like Duluhan IMO

    • Juan Manuel M. Suárez

That’s because it’s a reskin of Dullahan; much like it happens with Harpy / Griffin, Jack o Lantern / Golem, Centaur / Unicorn, etc~.

      • artemisthemp

Harpy and Griffin don’t have same skin to my knowledge.

        • Raze

They are same…They have similar attack too…Random fall and 3 diving claw…Wing Clap…Except Harpy have sucking and eating…While Griffon got the bright light thing…And some throwing…

          • artemisthemp

            Oh you mean attack pattern

  • Danny Lima

I’d like to see new costumes and arenas, a versus mode would be awesome

  • Damarius Wingfield

Those babies remind me of “THE ULTIMATE BEING FROM PARASITE EVE”!

  • SlickRoach

I’ll be getting a Vita just for this game, and now the announcement of DLC entices me even more!

  • Folk Hellfang

I just captured the Platinum trophy this week, this mission sounds like some unexpected closure for an incredible game!

  • vanhyde

holy hell, i’m glad i didnt buy this game yet
gonna piss my pants everytime play this game for sure :D
