Nintendo and The Pokémon Company will be releasing a special "Xerneas-Yveltal Blue" Nintendo 3DS XL system in Japan, alongside the release of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, featuring the two legendary monsters from the game. Here’s a look:

The special 3DS XL system will cost 22,000 yen and will come with a 4GB SDHC card, as well as a copy of either Pokémon X or Pokémon Y. Also included will be the six AR cards that 3DS systems come with. It will be available on October 12th.

Additionally, Pokémon Centers in Japan will be selling a second Nintendo 3DS XL system. The Premium Gold bundle will include the same items as the above bundle. Here’s what it looks like:

We’ll update with larger images of the Premium Gold bundle as they’re made available.

That Premium Gold design is gorgeous.

    • Maia Kasoya

My God, you’re right. I’m also digging that blue 3DS XL.

    • I can’t say I’m as keen. It’s nice, but the black leaf splotches are sort of random and leave the corners empty (I love the back of the design though, wish they went with that and kept the front design more tame).

The blue is trendy without being too loud, it’s slick. x)

  • AokiShizuku

-Petting my Zelda 3DS- It’s ok I still love you…

    I think.

    • LightGenx

This 3DS has captured your heart. You know it.

      • “captured”

        • LightGenx

It wasn’t even planned.. I’m chuffed.

  • ShadowDivz

I personally love the blue one, but the gold has this “quiet elegance” about it.
I would totally buy these if they left japan.
    …..which they won’t.

    • Hey, if the Pikachu 3DS XL/LL and the Animal Crossing one can come over, have some faith!

    • JustThisOne

I have a hunch that the blue one will come over. Past pokemon bundles have made it over before. And if a non-AAA title like FE:A can get a bundle over, Pokemon is no question.

Now, the premium gold edition one… I’m not sure. I don’t even know why I’m not sure. xD

      • Feels too Japanese maybe? I know that doesn’t make much sense but that’s about the best thing I can think of.

      • LightGenx

Because it’s a Pokemon Center exclusive? I don’t think many Pokemon Center 3DS’s have made over to the west.

        • Suicunesol

The Pikachu one was a Pokemon Center exclusive. I think it’s reasonable to conclude they’ll release at least one of them come October. I say the blue one. The Gold one is too peaceful-looking to be popular.

          • JustThisOne

            Haha, “too peaceful”. That’s great.

    • Slayven19

Its related to pokemon a game that will undoubtedly increase 3ds sales. Not to mention of the FE3ds came over which was the least likely one to come over then I know this will. As people have said the pikachu 3dsxl made it so that should tell you right there.

  • Forget the blue one. I want that gold one!

    • zaidandzhadow

      Blue = outstanding color combination
      Gold = outstanding art

  • Wow, both of those are extremely nice. Good show.

  • oh my goodness. just one. pleeeeeease, just give us one in the US.

  • Surprisingly….very classy

  • Surgeon of Death

    • LightGenx

      Have faith.

  • Ben Sylvia

I want the blue one as an awesome replacement for my Dialga & Palkia DS that got stolen last November, but I want the gold one because it’s sexy.

Not that the gold one will ever release outside Japan. :(

  • Highasthesky

I’v been looking into getting a Japanese 3DS….nice to see my options have grown.

  • Sakurazaki

If only Yvetal or w/e was on the front with that style of clouds.

Not much of a tree person.

    • Namuro

Actually, I was thinking the same thing. I personally think the Yvetal side looks cooler, and should get the spotlight on the front cover LOL. But still, nice designs nonetheless.

  • ThatOneGuy

Well we did get the Pika 3DS XL. Maybe they will bring these over as a good way for advertising the new games…maybe :/

  • Brion Valkerion

I thought this would be for NA, yeah im that stupid lol.

-sigh- the wait continues for a decent 3DS XL color so I can finally buy one

    • Penguin

      you are not alone……

  • Both look too busy to be honest.

  • Shadowman

    There glorious!

  • TruSpindash

That gold one is a work of art, if Nintendo wanted me to upgrade to an XL bringing that one stateside would seriously make me consider it.

  • $36598391

this is so not fair, all the cool 3DS XLs are Japan exclusive, I would jump on that Charizard XL if it came to NA, this one I hope comes out here

  • Damn these are nice! Even if they were to get localized without the designs on them, I’d still want them. I wish Nintendo would look our way when it comes to the special 3DS’s

  • ᴡIʟʟ

    Well played Nintendo.

  • Godman

Oh God do I love that Gold!
I don’t even need the decal, its so pretty.
Though I’m filled with anguish as I bought a 3DSXL last month T_T

Nintendo should really have a program in which we can send-in our 3DS to have it shell-swapped for a fee.

  • Margaret Chan

Buying the blue one as soon as it’s announced for US

  • mojack411

If this bundle made it to the US it would be time for me to upgrade to an XL finally.

  • man japan get some really cool stuff first the monster hunter exclusives and now this

    • MrSirFeatherFang

I’m pretty sure this is being released internationally everywhere at the same time
edit: whoops I’m sorry you are talking about the special 3DS console

  • dragoon_slayer12

I seriously hope these come stateside, but I hate the pre-installed crap. I’d rather have a voucher to download so I can have it with my other titles rather than another device. If it comes stateside, I seriously hope they either bring the gold version (so beautiful despite X on the from, I’m going with Yvetal), if not, I’d prefer a red version (love blue’s design, not color)

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

Gold design is a must have

  • Usually I think gold is too gaudy for me, but that artwork makes it just right.
And I wouldn’t mind that blue one as well… my favorite color. xP

  • Neophoton

Would be nice to that have in a red variation. :P I don’t even like the 3DS LL and I’d like it in red.

Also, the gold one is really lovely.

  • YoshEE

I want the blue one. So awesome!!! Please come to the west!!! :D

  • Solomon_Kano

That gold one. My God. Time to keep a wad of cash ready for an XL upgrade if this marches west.

  • Raltrios

You know, I really want a special edition 3DS XL. I’ve wanted to upgrade to an XL for some time now, but with that beautiful Fire Emblem system Canada only got a regular 3DS. Europe got an XL though, which made me super jelly.
Then the MH XLs were shown and, even though I’ve never played an MH game (just Gods Eater Burst), I felt I NEEDED it. But there’s been no localization announcement for the systems yet as far as I’m aware.

And now there’s this. To be honest, I think I’d still prefer the black MH one, but if I could get this I’d be satisfied, too.

  • I really hope we get these in the US, or some kind of special edition 3DSXL to commemorate the new gen.
I like both designs, though I lean more towards the color blue anyway (thus my Fire Emblem 3DS) but I’ve kind of been wanting an XL for X/Y, anyway.

  • PhilliesFlyers89

I’m 100% sure we’ll see the a Pokemon 3DSXL bundle in NA. The name sells too well to not have it. But We’ll probably see the blue one, not the gold one here.

  • crunc

I don’t actually play Pokemon, but those are pretty sweet looking. I particularly like the blue one.
