Seems like the Pokemon series REALLY wants to go outside the “insert another section of Japan” here setting that they did for 4 generations.

    • PhilliesFlyers89

They can’t do Japan forever, though I do feel as though they “rushed” Unova in design.

      • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

If you didnt like Unova you sure as hell arent going to like Washington DC

        • PhilliesFlyers89

Pretty much the best example of how not to build a city/Pokemon region.

          • DCBlackbird

            ouch :,(

      • AuraGuyChris

Unova didn’t seem rushed to me.
Now, the anime version, on the other hand…

        • PhilliesFlyers89

It was off compared to other regions. Even in Sinnoh(which is the most hated on region by fans), the region felt whole. Like it was one big area. Unova was kinda gimmicky. You had a huge New York style city, followed by desert, followed by a Los Angeles style city, followed by mountains. There was no flow to Unova. Every new city/area was completely different from the previous. Personally, I liked it better when the regions were centralized by a single idea(Kanto-routs, Johto-compacted, Hoenn-water, Sinnoh-Mountains/two sides).

The U.S. is a pretty big country with very diverse cities and settings. You are only describing the busiest part of Unova, which is Castelia to Nimbasa City. The rest of the map flows well enough to, at least, comprehend. If civilization had to work with such a geographically diverse country like Unova (U.S.), the map Gamefreak designed makes sense. Nowhere near rushed.
Edit: No idea where you’re getting the idea that fans hated the Sinnoh region. Gimme some stats, bro.

You must not remember much about Hoenn, then. Hoenn had a giant ocean, but it also had forests, jungles, a volcano, and a desert.

Unova is a bit weird, a whole bunch of different parts united together. But that’s just the theme. :)

          • Link

The towns in Hoenn meshed well though. Hoenn was all about nature and the elements and the towns coincided with that. Route to route would gradually flow into a similar town that works with those environments. Unova just doesn’t flow well. Each town is a jarring contrast to its surrounding environment.

          • RinaDawg

There are only 5 or so towns in Unova, the major parts of Unova are cities. First of all, cities are very developed sections of places. When an area is developed, it usually does not blend in with the forestry. Now, second, have you ever been to Lentimas town? Humilau City? That Village Bridge? These are just a few of the populated places in Unova that “blend” with their surroundings.

I can’t wait to pet Lucario. And feed him berries. And fondle his little tail… Ohohoh~

It might bite you, but it ironically evolves through friendship.

October 12th … Will I still be alive? The long waiting is killing me! >.<

*October 11th* “We’re sorry, but due to certain issues the game will be delayed”
      *BOOOOOOOOOOOM!*

      • Neophoton

Wanna bet there’d be an angry mob awaiting GameFreak’s office the next day?

        • Shady Shariest

Heh, it will be a South Park-esque full-blown chaos :P
People will throw fake Pokeballs around, hoping to catch near death beaten employees…

“Cool! Will that one evolve into a Pikachu?!”
“No son, that one will soon evolve into a corpse”
          “Awww…”

          • Neophoton

Given there’s a site where you can order some pretty well-made Pokeballs for like $100… I can imagine everyone throwing those around.

    • Shadowman

Keep it together dude we still got 3 more months.

I preordered the game so it’s easier on me.

My art student ways would like to see something based on Lascaux, along with Versailles.

  • PlatinumMad

I wonder how the totally not Eiffel Tower will lock. It’s on the map but is too small, at least we know it’s white.

  • AuraGuyChris

This video is more like “Masuda’s vacation in France” than “Hey You, Here’s Honedge in Action”.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

Gardevoir Is going to own the Kalos Region

“With the Eye of Thundera Honedge I will liberate my kinsmen from our oppressors and bring about a swift change with my blade of justice.”

      • Renaldi Saputra

        Blade of justice? hmm
        it’s a cursed blade..

    • Detrimont

Wasn’t gardevoir supposed to be riding a hydreigon or something

      • ShawnOtakuSomething

he killed it to walk, its better for you

    • Kai2591

lol. but isn’t Gardevoir supposed to be a ‘graceful/feeling/feminine’ Pokemon? why the masculine depiction? lol.
If anything, Gallade might be more fitting like this.

      • ShawnOtakuSomething

male Gardevoir is sick of being called feminine.

        • Kai2591

          Haha I guess so.

  • Kai2591

Pokemon-Amie is an ingenious idea! Trainers will get even closer to their Pokemon now….maybe even be obsessed with them lol~
sort of like what Love Plus did? haha

    • Renaldi Saputra

      I thought it’s more based on Tamagotchi/Digimon V-Pet

      • Kai2591

Is that so..well wasn’t saying it was an original invention or anything…just a nice additional feature

  • http://LevelUpGeneration.blogspot.com/ KALiverin

It’s going to be pretty tough to pet Honedge

    • AndyLC

If I can pet a Muk, I can pet a Honedge
