Disgaea 4: Return Headed To Vita, Along With Criminal Girls

By Ishaan . July 13, 2013 . 10:30am

Nippon Ichi Software announced two PlayStation Vita games at a 20th anniversary event this weekend—Disgaea 4: Return and Criminal Girls Invitation.

Disgaea 4: Return sounds like a Vita port of Disgaea 4 and is planned for release in January 2014. Meanwhile, we aren’t sure if Criminal Girls Invitation (tentative title) is a port game or not, but that game is slated for release this winter.

Finally, NIS also announced an Asagi 10th anniversary project, which is currently in its planning stages. No platform or other information has been confirmed for this game yet.

We’ll have further details on all three titles as they’re made available.

  • AlteisenX

Nice! I’ve been waiting for the inevitable Disgaea 4 Vita version. Hoping it gets localized.

    • TheExile285

It should since the localization would probably be copy and paste.

    • Dominic Hunter

Trust me, it will. Heck, they even localized Disgaea Infinite, and that’s a visual novel!

  • fool

But what do I do with my unopened copy of Disgaea 4 on PS3…

  • ChiffonCake

    Dammit, NIS! Now I don’t know if I should get a PS3 or a Vita first…

I wonder if there’ll be a Vita version of D2 at some point.

    • Dominic Hunter

I’d bet on it, seeing as they’ve gone portable with every other game in the series, and even Makai Wars.

    • TheExile285

I was kind of surprised that the new D2 was announced for Vita so maybe that want the option of a Vita port + new content for the future to maximize profits.

    • X_Bacon

      I’d still go for a PS3 first.

…and I think I’ve seen you name before? KS forums, peharps?

      • ChiffonCake

Yeah, I used to post there some time ago. Not a lot, though.

        • X_Bacon

Hah, knew it. I’ve seen your drawings on the oekaki board too.

          …And no, I swear I am not a stalker.

    • Warboss Aohd

      PS3 fer now.

it haz InFamous 1 and 2.

    • pimpalicious

You can play the PSP version on the Vita.

      • Solomon_Kano

I believe they were referring to Disgaea D2, not Disgaea 2.

        • pimpalicious

Oh yeah, lol. Not sure why I didn’t think of that before.

  • MrSirFeatherFang

oh my, criminal girls? well I guess imageepoch is making another one lol. besides the “plot” I read that the game was pretty fun

  • echokanon

Why do I think that Asagi would only become a main character of an event instead of a game…?

    • Sardorim

I wish Asagi got her own game… Still hope out there?

  • Dominic Hunter

Called it. FREAKING called it. Skipped D4 specifically for this reason. I swear, I’m never buying another console Disgaea game again.

    • TheExile285

    • LanceHeart

Have fun wasting hundreds of hours duping stuff with a 10% PPS rate. I re-bought D4 specifically to rely on the RosenQueen dupe trick.

      • Radiosity

When the game first released (JP Version) duping wasn’t actually so bad. Basically if you had a friend to help you could use the online feature to dupe back and forth with a friend.

Put innocents on item, item on character, character in a map, upload it to the net, then your friend does the same and you both play each other’s map, gaining the item that lets you play the map once you win. Then save and just keep playing the map (which contains the character with all the innocents on it) until you manage to dupe the item. Combine the new innocents, re-upload and do it again.

Didn’t take ‘too’ long to dupe everything we needed like that. The catch? Apparently this wasn’t what NIS intended and as soon as they found out people were doing this they patched it out, leaving you with class world runs as the only alternative (not taking into account the Rosen dupe trick, which we didn’t know about at the time obviously).

        • LanceHeart

Exactly. However, NIS tends to patch up everything they didn’t intend when they release portable versions of their games. We won’t have network duping, nor RosenQueen from launch.

Which is why this portable version has a LOT less value than the PS3 version, unless it includes all DLC and has even more content, like Disgaea 3 on Vita did.

          • Radiosity

Yeah, even if it has a more sane trophy list (without ship part farming) I won’t be bothering unless they fix the massive issues the game has on the gameplay front, especially things like trying to get the neko pirates to show up. But I doubt they’ll touch any of that and I just don’t feel inclined to do it a second time.

    • Sardorim

Eh, I got a ton of enjoyment out of D4. I really didn’t want to wait from September 6, 2011 to July 13, 2013 to play such an amazing game.

      • With it being released January 2014 in Japanese, more like July 2014. unless you read Japanese, but that’s still an additional half a year.

    • Folk Hellfang

I was pretty sure this was going to be how it went as well, but I just couldn’t resist the candy like box on the shelf. I’ll pick it up again, I really like Disgaea in a portable format.

    • 無尽合体ブランタコブスキ

pretty sure everyone knew it was going to come sooner or later

      • jujubee88

“Assumed” and “knew” are two (very) different things. We can assume, but this confirmation nailed it down as it comes from NIS officially. And, yes we did assume D4 after all D3 for VITA was a big success but keyword again was assume.

Also this is a bit off the beaten path but……. is it just me or are more (great) VITA game reveals become so norm the response has gone from “OMAHGOD MOAR VITER GAMEZ!!!!!” to “Eh, there’s another VITA game….onto the next one.” Just a little phenomenon I’ve taken note of lately.

        • 無尽合体ブランタコブスキ

it’s been a trend with all disgaea games, i had no doubt that it was going to happen with disgaea 4 eventually

that’s been going on for a while on gfaqs

    • KuroNathan

Even so I enjoyed D4 so much that I’ll probably end up getting the vita version as well simply for the included DLC (assuming) and extras. D4 is by far my favorite Disgaea games.

Plus I liked the english voices, SARDINES!

    • Fidelis

..I mean,really..what are you missing out on? A couple of new levels and some cutscenes? Is that really worth waiting 2 years for? There’s absolutely nothing wrong with a portable port and it makes complete sense to want to add new content for extra incentive for new and oldcomers to buy. There’s really nothing to be upset about.

      • Solomon_Kano

It doesn’t really sound like he’s upset, just that he saw this coming.

Honestly, if I knew an enhanced port was a sure thing, I’d certainly wait the two years for it to happen. And with Disgaea, it’s a sure thing. A $40 game vs. a $60 game + who knows how much in DLC. Two years is definitely worth the money saved, in my book.

        • Aristides

You’re absolutely right, and for people like me who no longer have a PS3 like me (it broke) and is a hardcore Disgaea fan this is a breath of fresh air. I was counting on this to happen but did not know when, given that I’m heavy on the portables (especially on the Vita) and that the Vita can play the first three waiting 2 years was gamble well paid off. Patience has it’s perks I guess.

        • endaround

Well Disgaea games are now $50. And will likely be $20 by the time D4 for Vita comes out anyway. So having if you want to wait, wait. The port has nothign to do with it.

          • Solomon_Kano

The port has nothing to do with what?

Honestly, even if you buy a Disgaea game for $20, the total for all the DLC is more than the other $20 that makes up the Vita version’s price tag. So you get the game cheaper, plus all DLC, and content the PS3 version won’t get at all. Seems worth it to me.

    • Pinkemon

You’re a smarter person than I am. I also knew this was gonna happen but got the PS3 versions of 3 and 4 anyway cause I was impulsive. :U I’ll just continue being tsundere towards NIS over there in the corner I suppose. (There’s the lack of a Vita too but eh…)

    • I really had to think hard on whether to buy the console version or not – all those dlc included amount to more than a pretty penny. But I just couldn’t hold off for so long. Especially since it takes time to announce these things, then localize them, etc.

  • Mister_Nep

What if the Asagi project is just an artbook collection or something? They can continue trolling if they do that.

    • Higanbana

Asagi is already receiving an artbook, vocal album, and figure for obtaining 9,000 members on her official fanclub. http://nippon1.jp/20th/asagi.html

      • Mister_Nep

        She has an official fanclub?!

        • Testsubject909

          Why wouldn’t she?

Running gag character with a bit of tragedy to her joke and an appealing character design.

          Why not?

          • Mister_Nep

It’s Nippon Ichi admitting she’s a popular enough character for it. Just seems like it goes against the joke.

  • TheExile285

    D4:R shall be mine.

Looked up some vids Crimminal Girl. It’s looks ok. I hope the Vita version gets some enhancements.

    • MrSirFeatherFang

i know what you mean but that game is for the xbox one :(

      • TheExile285

What game, CG? Everyone is reporting it to be PSV.

        • MrSirFeatherFang

i was joking about Access Games’ D4 for the Xbox One, since you used D4 in your OP

          • TheExile285

Oh, lol. I don’t know a thing about X1’s games so that’s why I was drawing a blank, lol.

          • MrSirFeatherFang

it’s basically the only game that interested me besides Crimson Dragon… although you can see my tendency towards Japanese games.

          • TheExile285

X1 has Japanese games? I might start actually caring about it now, lol. (Might)

          • MrSirFeatherFang

in terms of exclusives, those are the only Japanese exclusives I know of. They’re also the only games I’m interested in for the X1.
For other multiplatform JP games (as of now), there’s FFXV, KHIII and MGSV.

    • DesmaX

Kinda reminds me of Class of Heroes.

And, lol, seems like Imageepoch worked on that one too

    • Sardorim

Well it may have features from the Disgaea 3 remake and Dimensions 2 that weren’t in Disgaea 4. There are also features in Dark Hero Days that weren’t in Disgaea 4 so… They have options.

I personally want dual Magic-Change, Peta and up Magic, and the such while riding Monsters.

  • Surf

Huh, figured. Gonna have to see the extra features in Return before I make a decision on it or not though. Havnt played my Disgaea 4 in like a year. I guess while the duping trick saved me a ton of hours of item world bs, it also made me stop playing the game really really fast. A real double edged sword imo. But i dunno if ill be willing to play through the game a 3rd time

    • Sardorim

The dupe trick was very entertaining for making the capped weapons I wanted. Cut out so much time and allowed me to cap out all the main characters and my favorite generics for my ultimate party!

      • Surf

We’ll just have to see what Returns offers to the table. I think all the DLC episodes being available in-game is a given like they did with D3AoD (Hopefully it is). But I still don’t think that would be enough to make me buy the game again.

        • Sardorim

May be harder to grind in D4 as I’m sure it wont have that trick.

  • Spirit Macardi

You know NIS, I love you like crazy, but you simply have to stop it with re-releasing your console games to handhelds.

It wouldn’t be a big issue if they were just straight ports or if you made the extra content that you add on to them available on the originals as DLC, but as it stands you’re basically telling people: “If you want the new ultimate experience, you have to buy it again!”

Plus, I don’t want to buy a goddamned Vita.

    • TheExile285

What about for the people who never played them? I didn’t play D3 till the Vita version and much rather play D4 on my Vita then PS3.

Besides, if they were straight ports, what would be the incentive for buying them when the console version will be the same and cheaper?

      • Spirit Macardi

I’m not saying they shouldn’t add new content, or even that they shouldn’t make the occasional port. My issue is that they port the game with a ton of new extras included with it, and then deny those additions to the home console version (even though the success of the original releases is what gives them the money to make the ports).

Hell, Phantom Brave they released THREE TIMES! There was the PS2 original, the Wii version which added the Another Marona story, and finally a PSP version that added the Hermuda Triangle post-game content. That’s absolutely insane.

I could understand making handheld ports like these years down the road after the original console they were released on is no longer in production, but good lord I still have the receipt from when I bought the original Disgaea 4 in my e-mail inbox!

    • DesmaX

I don’t think people would buy the extra content on the consoles, because everyone would move to D2 anyway.

And, hey, direct ports are no fun. You gotta give some incentive to make fans buy it again

    • Manny Being Manny

I don’t see the problem. I’d rather play a game like Disgaea on a handheld anyway.

    • Sardorim

I’m sure the Vita fans are more than happy getting Disgaea 4 about 2 or such years after the games original release in the west.

    • Calamity

It’d be nice if the PS3 version had the new content in the form of DLC. This way the handheld port would be like a GOTY edition. Everybody wins,

      • Spirit Macardi

Yeah, pretty much exactly what I was getting at.

        • Yuan

They practically release the handheld port of Disgaea after new mainline series has been released on home console for months. So by the time every handheld ports announced, the said games have been outdated and I doubt people would bother to go back to the previous game for the DLC after playing the new one for months.

Plus, most of the additional contents are DLCs and some elements borrowed from the new game which will have been available for home console player when this port of the previous game released.

    • WingsOfEternity

100hrs+ playtime games belong on handhelds.I know for a fact I was able to spend much more time on D1DS/D2PSP/D3Vita than the originals.

  • ivanchu77

Yes!! so happy about the D4 port to vita!

Hopefully Disgaea D2 gets a Vita port soon

    • Sardorim

Seeing how they waited 2 years years to announce a remake of Disgaea 4 for the Vita… I think you might end up waiting a long while for Disgaea D2 to get a Vita port.

      • DesmaX

And they have to port Guided Fate Paradox first too anyway

        • I don’t know if they will port that… they might but it isn’t guranteed.

        • Solomon_Kano

Not necessarily. There’s precedent for Disgaea ports, they don’t really have a particular reason to port GFP.

      • ivanchu77

I know :( , hope they make an exception this time!

Disgaea games are a strange case for me, i can spend hundreds of hours with them on Handhelds but i get bored of them very quickly when i play them on ps3/ps2

    • Yuan

They always announce handheld Disgaea months after new mainline title released. So DD2 Vita port won’t be announced before D5 released.

  • GameWinner

    Thank you based NIS!

  • chibiwall

    I know it would come
now hurry up and localize it, my wallet is waiting <3

  • Lehiko

According to anime news network, both D4: R and Criminal Girls are being released on the vita.

    • xXDGFXx

On the very slim chance it does, most likely it’ll be PSN release.

      • TheExile285

Maybe CG, but D4:R will probably be retail.

        • xXDGFXx

          Yea, I meant Criminal Girls.

  • JustThisOne

Woah woah woah woah! Criminal Girls too? That sounds pretty awesome. I wonder if this is a chance as localization too?

  • ragingmerifes

Dammit, now I have to buy a Vita!

  • jujubee88

*In a New York accent* Dis guy-a for? Is dis guy-a for?

    Get it? :>

  • ShadowDivz

I remember a few years back, hearing a rumor that they would probably make a vita one, but as the years went by and nobody mentioned it, i figured it would never happen….And then years later i see this!

Aww man, siliconera you have no idea how happy i am to hear this. I will be importing this mother ASAP.

  • Isaac Newton

    Well it’s another good news!
    The consumer wins again LOL

  • Muffum

Until proven otherwise, I’m just going to assume NISA will localize Disgaea 4 Return as Disgaea 4: A Portable Unforgotten.

    • ZekeFreek

I’m hoping for Disgaea 4: Power of Sardines! myself.

  • Ryan Chiu

Wish that they’d announced Soul Nomads Vita…

    • Warboss Aohd

i would be ALL over that.

      Not Even joking.

      • Ryan Chiu

Likewise. I never really got to play it on the PS2, so I really want to experience it. Give me my Soul Nomads, damnit!

        • Warboss Aohd

yes, more Soul Nomad! my favorite of da company.

        • fenix7

Same, want this or Soul nomad 2!

    • DesmaX

      Totally with you there

      My favorite game from them

    • Testsubject909

      • Oscar Alberto Abrego Suarez

Nah Revya Demon route its where its at.

  • biskmater

Criminal Girls was a PSP Japan only by NIS, whether this is a port, or sequel I do not know, but yes, I called it on D4.
I was going to laugh about Asagi not getting anything again, but then I read the end.

  • Sognatore

    wait… isn’t criminal girls… oh boy…

  • SlickRoach

D4 for Vita? Even after buying the CE version I’ll pick this up day one no doubt about it.

  • Warboss Aohd

suddenly not buyin’ Disgaea 4 haz paid off.

    • I 1 don’t own a console (PS3) and 2 know they always get handheld ports so I didn’t get the game. I probably won’t ever by the console version. Sure I will have to wait a couple years but I will get the best version that way.

  • cloudcaelum

With amazing clean graphic? If yes hell, it’s about time!

  • s6_miller

I hope that we will be able to transfer our old saves to the vita version this time.

    • Testsubject909

Highly doubtful but a nice thought.

  • alixraen

Can we please get Criminal Girls this time around please? ._.

    • AnimusVox

I’m a bit concerned asking this but, what is that about exactly?

      • Steven Johnson

        S&M XD

        • ShadowDivz

          No it isn’t!
It’s about helping young girls reform by accepting their troubled past to become better people or “knights” to beat the last boss since this is an RPG.

          ……..through S&M activities. >_>

          • Testsubject909

Remember to properly understand what is a reward and a punishment if you indulge in this, while yes it’s good for everyone to have fun, if you include Domination into the mix, then it…

Oh wait, right, talking about a game..

*goes back to re-arranging his M:TG cards*

          • Steven Johnson

Doesn’t matter still has S&M XD

        • AnimusVox

I….I have no proper response to that other than ‘Please localize this NIS’.
          I must play this…..for science…..

    • almostautumn

Sure we can! But first we have to do a couple hundred more skipping laps in the delusional flower field of “Totally Opportune Localizations.” I’m pretty sure most of the Senran Kagura fans are hanging out there still, along with Monpiece. There might even be a “Rapelay” guy in there or two still.

But there’s no way. Anything that involves the harm or nudity of underage girls— come on, dude. The west would go absolutely ballistic if that stuff was localized, especially in America. ‘Merican’s love to make an issue out of anything that requires cultural understanding.

  • SirRichard

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Criminal Girls basically bomb at retail? Would even a port be worth the resources? Or maybe they feel that Senran Kagura and that one monster game have created a market for it?

Also man, I was going to start Disgaea 4 soon and everything. Beginning to think I might want to hold off on D2.

    • DD2 should be safe for 2 years or so.

    • FitzpatrickPhillips

Not only was Criminal Girls a really good game, but it sold pretty well. Can’t wait to get the new one. I always wanted it but I thought it would be impossible.

      • burnfist23

The battle system looked kinda “meh”, famitsu’s score didn’t exactly convince me (Granted reviewers aren’t always the best source, but considering most of the other Nippon Ichi games got at least 2 8s and Criminal Girls even got a 6), and I’m not gonna bother bringing up certain “content” from the game, but the game was number 11 on the polls (Beating out Makai Kingdom and ZHP), characters were also ranked pretty high, and a screenshot from the ending did seem to indicated there was something heartwarming under all that, so I’m rather curious. What exactly is good about the game? I’m not gonna forgive it for NI passing over Soul Nomad, but maybe I’d understand why NI would choose to do another Criminal Girls.

        • Oscar Alberto Abrego Suarez

Lots of good, despite the simple battle system it had lots of depth as you could only change party members and use items once per turn and the girls have a vast array of abilities to make good strategies because they arent carbon copies of one another (Bosses could be status affected!). The girls stories are related to the 7 capital sins so their reasons to end in Hell are related as well and thats touched late in the story. The characters were awesome (Kisaragi and Ran the best) since you see them evolve from those hard chells of their tropes to well developed characters.

If anything CGs fanservice is the reason tis game is shunned, otherwise is a very solid, fun and challenging portable RPG.

Just to note the game has character specific endings, one extra ending and one secret ending (Each with an extra hard dungeon).

This one is probably one of the most “darker” games made by Nis along Soul Nomad.

As for the game i hope they make Himekami playable, that would be awesome.

          • ShadowDivz

I find Ran changed the most. I don’t completely understand japanese, but just from her tone i knew she came the farthest.

That’s why she was the first girl i changed. And thank god, because the last boss is one hell of a challenge.

          • Oscar Alberto Abrego Suarez

I think based on Kisaragis past she evolved the most of them all, well at least thats the impression i got.

I was surprised by the characters in the end, CGs really surprised me.

          • ShadowDivz

Im not sure about Kisaragi’s past, but i think she was involved in enjo kousai Or compensated dating?

My top 3 was Ran,Kisaragi and then Sako. I find Ran And Kisaragi changed the most. but Sako was so helpful.

          • Oscar Alberto Abrego Suarez

yeah i think she represents greed so thats why she dated old guys.

I think Sako evolved a lot as well, and certainly her ending CG is the cutest of them all :)

    • Elvick

You could just do what I do, buy it (D2) and then never buy the DLC.

Then spend the money that would have gone to DLC, on the portable version. Since they always include all the DLC, plus more stuff… PLUS portability!

    • Yuan

The first week sales didn’t even reach 20k, but as it got good reviews , it got legs to reach the 50k target by Feb 2011 (in 3 months).

      Source: https://twitter.com/ie_Otake/status/34999957228490752
      (it’s in Japanese though)

      • SirRichard

Fair enough, all I remember was the sales chart article that weak writing it off as doing poorly, but reaching 50k makes it viable enough for their usual.

        • Oscar Alberto Abrego Suarez

Just to note that No More Heroes, Persona 2 Eternal Punishment and The World ends with you flopped in Japan, a game sales doesnt reflect said game quality.

          • SirRichard

My issue wasn’t quality, my posts have mentioned nothing about the quality of the game. I haven’t played it, couldn’t say. My question was that I’d heard that it didn’t do all that well in Japan, so why would they bother with another?

Turns out I was wrong on that, so it’s a moot point.

  • Monterossa

    umm… please localize Criminal Girls.

  • I knew that D4R would happen, but I am still happy for it. Woo. And that Asagi title tease… oh you NIS oh you.

  • Wafflenaut

I hope it has the HD sprites, that said, my Vita is slowly becoming an NIS console.

  • TheCrimsonSpeed

NIS : Justifying my Vita purchase one game at a time~

  • Teresa Runions

I am overjoyed by Disgaea 4 , and Criminal Girls. I will import both on day one and buy the english versions as well. Hopefully Criminal Girls gets localized, but we will have to see on that one. Either way Good news.

  • SuBw00FeR

    God yes!!! COME AT ME!!

  • Now, this two games is the games I dun mind buying XD

  • Shady Shariest

It seems that this poor student will skip the awesome PS3 games to afford a VITA…
I only bought PS3 to play Disgaea’s…But having all the DLC with the games price is tempting…
(For the record…Nearly none of D4’s DLC was published up North here :/ )

    • Finally got a copy of the enhanced version of the first Disgaea for the PSP, guess I’ll have to continue the trend since this wasn’t unprecedented. Gonna be awhile before I get a Vita though.

      • Shady Shariest

Same…And i will take bus drives to school and back… Like it isn’t all ready hard to find a job :/
(Thank god you can get it for 200€ here :P)

edit:Could be nice to see how it plays with all tha new features…

  • heartless141

i have D4 in my amazon list since ages, but still waiting for this to be announced :D

  • Testsubject909

I’ll pre-order it if it gets localized and it better.

Same for Criminal Girls. And if it doesn’t… I’ll import!

    • Oscar Alberto Abrego Suarez

I did exactly that…… CG turned out one of my favorites PSP games.

      • Testsubject909

Didn’t have the money to import back then. Things have changed though.

        • Oscar Alberto Abrego Suarez

Just a note: DONT let CG risky CGs or Fanservice clouds you, this game is solid, fun and with exceptional characters (A Girl with glasses that can kick your ass? You dont see that anywhere) and one of the most serious plots in Nis repertoire.

You will be surprised by CGs (The reason i think Imageepooch isnt a bad developer after all).

          • Testsubject909

I’m familiar with fanservice and how to look beyond it.

          • ShadowDivz

The real question is: Do you know how to enjoy it?
            *raises eyebrow*

          • Testsubject909

*looks at empty box of tissues*

            Not sure…

            Edit: *sneezes*

          • Oscar Alberto Abrego Suarez

With a open mind of course.

          • Yuan

Well, Imageepoch is pretty good developer if they have a publisher to put a leash on them.

          • Oscar Alberto Abrego Suarez

Well given that in the PSP last years they have been pretty uch leaned by a lot of developers i think Imageepooch is not really that bad, just forget Last Rebellion exist.

          • Yuan

Last Rebellion is developed by Hitmaker.

  • Yuriangels

As always Nippon Ichi Sortware does not disappoint

    • Testsubject909

It is the fearful and almighty power of the Nippon Ichi SARDINES!

  • $36487238

    :))))))) HELL YEAH!

    Thank goodness I waited (well… I don’t have a PS3 at the moment so…)
But still… HELL YEAH! I can finally enjoy more Disgaea!

Well, time to blow the digital dust off the PS+-distributed Disgaea 3 on VITA and make my way to finish. I’ll be having D4 next year

  • pimpalicious

I have Disgaea 4 for PS3 but don’t mind picking it up again to have it on the go. I’ll be more likely to get into the post game stuff that way.

Criminal Girls likely won’t come to the US again anyway so have no feelings on that one.

  • ZekeFreek

  • Aci

Though this gets me far to excited about, doesn’t all disgaea portables only release after it’s successor? Like how D1 psp release after D2 with charaters from that game as extra content?

    • ZekeFreek

Technically, this is releasing well after DD2.

  • Cool! Another reason to eat more sardines!

  • DyLaN

While I want to say “If Agarest can cross the sea, anything else have a fair chance” but seeing tht Monpiece is still in Japan….. Not to mention the heavy PLOT in CG ^.^; Anyway will wait n see I guess.

Hope the Asagi project means she finally gotten a game for herself.

    • heartless141

but if asagi gets a game, then she wouldn’t have a gag for the next cameo! D:

      • DyLaN

Its Nippon Ichi, even if Asagi got her game they will still find a way to make Asagi the subject of the joke.

  • Stephen

…time to pull my Vita out of storage and revisit my Sardine cast again. :D

  • Blackchaos_Tai

Hopefully will actually get criminal girls in the west this time.

  • Yuan

This reminds me that I haven’t got Platinum on D3R because I never met Alex in Item World…

  • artemisthemp

Guess Disgaea D2 will come to Vita also :)

  • Thom

Since I’m not yet privy to the Vita yet, I thought I’d take a chance asking a question: From a JRPG fan who skipped the PS3/Xbox360 era totally and bought a 3DS solely to play SMT IV (also picking up Fire Emblem), do you feel like the Vita has (or will have) a decent library of JRPGs? Which are you looking forward to? I’m really thinking of picking up a Vita if it turns out to be the new home for Disgaea and series like it.

    • Carabutifarra

VITA this year will end with 20 JRPGs (more or less) but if you will not import from Japan, you will see 5 o 6 JRPGs.

    • Oscar Alberto Abrego Suarez

Honestly the 3DS is your best bet, besides Nis and namco most JRPG developers trusth the 3DS more, plus you have ATLUS there, the best Japanese developer in JP.

And as of late Nintendo is helping to publish some JRPGs (Like SMT 4 (Korea) and BDFF) ouside japan, so the 3DS has a bigger localization chance for America (Not to mention the Vita is flopping)

  • Aristides

I hope they localize Criminal girls at some point T_T

There can never be too much Disgaea for me and it adds yet another reason to buy Vita.
I purchased 4th on release date, ’cause I wanted to play the game and I wanted Limited Edition with those kawaii figurines, tho I never purchased any DLC. Seriously, after Disgaea 3 I would have been surprised if they didn’t release D4 for Vita with all the DLC included. I don’t understand why people are surprised or upset or whatever.

  • Patrick

Finally 4 for vita one more game I don’t need a ps3 for and if its like 3 for vita it will have all dlc included and extra stories and new characters not in the ps3 version

  • Corey Schulz

This is some über groovy news, doods!

  • Göran Isacson

What exactly is criminal girls? Can’t say I’ve ever heard of it before.

    • burnfist23

Criminal Girls is a PSP game that was available only in Japan where you take the role of a warden who has to reform seven girls. It was one of the more controversial games since one of the reformation methods was spanking/whipping and it didn’t help that there are some very fanservice-y CGs.

      • Göran Isacson

Ha ha oh wow. That… sure sounds like a game sold for PC-only and that’s not allowed for small children, but I presume that it’s not QUITE as naughty/sleazy as it sounds?

        • burnfist23

I can’t say much because I haven’t played, but their are a couple of people here who have said that there is a good game in there if you can get past the fanservice.

  • Virevolte

I played all my Disgaea on Psp and Vita.
    I’m such a happy Tomberry.

  • アティ

hope they bring back stella and rutile in this one!
