Sonic Lost Worlds will be released on October…
Wait? Sonic confirmed for Smash Bros 4 in October?

Last time I checked Smash Bros wasn’t coming out until 2014 at the earliest.

EDIT: Ah wait I read that wrong, you were saying that Sonic would be confirmed for the new smash bros in October. Maybe.

Hopefully, I loved Sonic in Smash, and plus it would finally make the When Worlds Collide comic arc a reality :P

A bit off topic, but forgot whether I heard it in a video or read it on a forum but someone suggested that for a successful 3D Sonic game to handle Sonic’s movement like you would a car in a driving game. When you think about that it’s pretty damn ingenius, isn’t it?

    • Never

      No.

Actually, I’ve been thinking about that as well. I can imagine that if they emulate games like F-ZERO, it could turn out quite well. But then, for them to focus on the speed racing only, they’d have to cut out the exploration (alternate route, hidden goodies, etc.) and the occasional combats (though I think they could leave that out, and focus on battle on-the-go like the Shadow boss fight in Sonic Adventure 2).

Most driving games are also about racing WITH other players, and not by yourself. Driving games are fun and challenging because there are competitors that try overtake you, and you have to learn the mechanic of the game to keep them back (whether it’s drifting, boosting, or simply just bashing other cars into million pieces). Sonic games usually have just Sonic runs through levels by himself in a straight forward manner. So to make a Driving game-like Sonic game with no competitors, just doesn’t sound very fun (there’s also Sonic Rivals, but that’s 2D style).

Otherwise, you’d have to settle for games like Sonic Riders or Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, but those aren’t “sonic running” games anymore…

      …Sonic R?

I like that they’ve added new Wisp powers to the mix rather than just recycling them all. I’m wondering how they’ll justify them returning within the story though.

I’m also curious to find out which Studiopolis regulars are voicing the new villains.

The enemies look kind of bland, and the world looks disorienting (too much sky in many of the camera angles). That said, I’ve never seen a Sonic game with a power system like this (My only Sonic games were the ancient ones for PC…), so I’m intrigued. Or at least I would be, if the game weren’t being released at THE SAME GOD DAMN TIME AS EVERYTHING ELSE!!!

Seriously, there’s no way I can buy and play everything I want to that comes out in the October/November timeframe! It’s not fair…!
Hopefully if any low sales result from this clustersale the developers won’t think it’s actually a reflection of consumer interest…

If you’re talking about the Badnik design, then that’s intentional. If you’re talking about the antagonists, then that’s a completely different story.

The ones that could speak, yes.

Why do I keep getting the Sonic XTreme vibe every time I watch a trailer or read a news post in relation to this game?

    • Guest

The Camera reminds me of XTreme too. I wish I could try XTreme, out of curiosity.

y on the day of pokemon x and y?

    • J_Joestar

i think Pokemon is 10 days earlier.
Still gonna expect the 3DS version of this to suffer a bit because of it though.

Jealous of this game. Way to go nintendo. This is the first wiiU exclusive I have really wanted. However, things are getting easier to pass it up with all of these colors vibes. I really was not a huge fan of the colors games. I’m more of an adventure style kind of guy. But they are all good to me.

    • ShawnOtakuSomething

We might get that style of game soon
