Better have re-done voice overs in english too. Fully dubbed. None of that 5% dubbed crap.

    • TheExile285

fully dubbed in english? yeah, I wouldn’t get my hopes up

      • Manny Being Manny

Its not even fully voiced in Japanese, so thats a pipe dream.

        • Tyler Beale

Why the hell does that matter? The events that aren’t voiced (such as the one before and after the optional dance video) aren’t story-related, is it?

At least the anime series has a voice track at all. (even though that’s a given)

        • FitzpatrickPhillips

Clearly I meant the equivalent of however much the JP voices were.

      • Ben Brocka

Well Victory was mostly dubbed, so it’s not completely out of the question.

        • Flandre Scarlet

          “Victory was mostly dubbed”

Did we play the same game? Aside from the intro and the endings, about 2-3 scenes per chapter, out of the 10 chapters, were voiced in English. I played through the entire game with the dub track on, and well over 75% of the time outside battles was spent in silence.

          • supervamp

Blame the japanese version, more times then not(though on rare occassion-cough-tales-cough-) they only voice what had voices in the first place

          • Flandre Scarlet

This isn’t the case with Neptunia as the Japanese voice track is included in the NA and EU versions of the game, and nearly every single scene is voiced in Japanese.

mk2 and Victory were cases of NISA not wanting to allocate a larger budget to them than the much smaller first game, and the result was a terrible dub job and an inexperienced translator.

        • FetusZero

I felt like Victory had even less dubs than the other games. Then again, there’s a big gap between each of them, so I may not remember the previous ones properly whenever a new one comes up lol.

All that matters to me anyway is that they bring all Neptunia games to the west. That’s a mighty big dream since I include PP in there though..

    • Flandre Scarlet

The first Neptunia game had a very similar amount of lines dubbed, but subsequent games increased the character count to the point where NISA only voiced about 10-15% of the game with Victory (At least, that’s NISA’s excuse).

Unless Rebirth has some really drastic character or script additions, fully dubbing it shouldn’t be a problem. The only problem I could see would be fitting both voice tracks on the Vita cart.

That’s assuming this even gets localized at all, of course.

      • Tyler Beale

The Vita card space shouldn’t be an issue. If it is, and if they choose to fully dub it (which they better), they can just do a Soul Sacrifice and make the Japanese voices DLC.

      • supervamp

The vita is supposed to have a huge amount of space for things like that why soul sacrifice couldn’t have it on the cartridge i don’t know.
They did it for totori plus and they are likely doing it for meruru plus so i don’t think they’ll be much of a problem

        • Flandre Scarlet

Soul Sacrifice likely wasn’t a case of “Couldn’t” and more than likely was a case of “Won’t”. It’s been proven time and time again by localization companies that Japanese voices only appeal to a small niche and are sometimes not even worth the cost, depending on the game.

I can see more games going that route in the future (Dub only, JP voices as DLC/pre-order bonus).

          • supervamp

Appeal to a small niche? Yeah and terrible voice acting is something that most people prefer apparently,It’s less costly to leave the voices alone and just to translate the text then to add dubs or try to do dual audio.

  • TheExile285

NISA, once you announce this and Disgaea 4 Return for localization, I’ll happily be throwing so more money your way!

If this comes out in October in Japan, I hope we can get it in the West by January or February 2014.

    • Tyler Beale

Same here, adding the Noire game and Idol PP to that list! (I’ll buy the LEs for all 3!!)

    • Grunwald

Yeah I’m just waiting for them to announce this for localization, hoping so hard for it

      • TheExile285

I think its going to be localized unless NISA’s 2 upcoming Vita games bomb (I don’t think they will since most people were excited for them)

The question is how will it be distributed. I wouldn’t hold anything against NISA if they went DD on this because its a niche on a niche system.

That being said, I really hope its physical because i want some box art and RPGs are big on the Memory Card.

      • refrain

Well, Neptunia series sells better in the west, so…

    • Joshua Myers

      Same

    • artemisthemp

Waiting on that news also and hope on Idol PP

  • Tyler Beale

That screenshot has me a bit worried about costume choices….I certainly hope I can make Neptune and the CPUs (and candidates) wear their Victory costumes.

After all, the Neptunia app gives us the choice (after their respective in-app purchases) of the Victory costume, swimsuit (which was DLC), HN1 costume, and Santa costumes (which I’m sure will be DLC in the near future).

Now, where is that app update that gives us all of the costumes released as DLC in Victory? (dreams Noire wearing that school uniform on my iPod Touch)

  • RoxasTheUnknown1

NISA, you know what you must do.__.

  • Noire

    It… It’s not like I am happy or something…

    • refrain

Well, you don’t have any friend, Noire…

  • Luis Camargo

Here NISA, have my bank account and password. I won’t be needing money anymore at this pace.

  • fyi1191

Victory costumes better not be DLCs.

  • zazza345

I’ll add that the same article specifies that connection dungeons have been eliminated.

  • WhyWai

money ready for you NISA! please translate it.

  • Keko

    October 31…so I have until April/May of 2014 to get a Vita?

Gotta sell all of my stuff, then!

    • Niyari

      lol sounds about right

  • http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/recognition/21421.html?type=4 Kashell

“You won’t have to wait for landmasses to move back in place so you can terraport from one area to the next.”
But, do we still have to waste a good 5 to 10 minutes of travel time by going through the dungeons?

    • zazza345

      No more connection dungeons.

  • s07195

So I have until October to get a Vita, and pretty much no time to get a US 3DS for AA:DD, which is pretty much impossible… or hopefully I can borrow my friend’s Vita… but we’re all going to university in September, and with us studying on different continents I don’t think he’d let me… ARGH. How am I supposed to play ANY of the stuff I wanna play?

    • Jesse Thompson

When you get a Vita, be sure to pick up Persona 4: Golden as well. Best game evar!

I kind of wish terraporting was still around…just because I love to use the word in the game. LET’S TERRAPORT NEP-NEP!
