Excuse me while I rage at the fact that the west still doesn’t have Dragon Quest VII’s remake, Dragon Quest Monsters: Terry’s Wonderland 3D and Dragon Quest X.

    • LunarKnite

I just wish they’d say SOMETHING about it in the west. I really hope Nintendo will still support DQ in the west, because it sure as hell doesn’t seem like SE cares about the western DQ fanbase.

      • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

Well Nintendo does already tries to support S-E here by localizing Bravely Default. You can’t just hope that Nintendo did everything themselves here.T_T(Which is indeed sad case where S-E actually don’t care much of their handheld titles when most of their gems is over there.)

        • LunarKnite

I was pleasantly surprised that is indeed coming over. Is it really such a one or the other situation though; can’t they bring both? I would think after having seven Dragon Quest games on the DS in the west, there would be at least some official word on localizing DQ on the 3DS. I just can’t trust SE anymore so I’m pleading Nintendo.

    • Lightthrower

Especially DQ7 that would’ve sold a lot of copies here I’m sure. 8 and 9 both sold over 500k here (although this is a remake, lots of people didn’t play 7 which is one of the best).

    • Shane Guidaboni

I was pretty damn sure we were going to get the DQVII Remake, but now I’m no so sure.

    • Rogerrmark

Right? I still have some hope on DQVII localization, though.

About Terry’s wonderland…dunno, don’t see Nintendo(not even considering Squareenix) would care on localizing a RPG that’s based mainly on monster raising, since Pokemon is getting a new entry this year too. ):

    • http://linkapics.tumblr.com/ Linka

Especially Dragon Quest VII remake. Where in the world was that announcement, SE? It’s sorta despairing that it hasn’t been mentioned all this time…

    • Guest

      Meanwhile at SE.

  • Interface23

    ARGH

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

I realllllllllllly wanted to be happy about this announcement here but i can’t.T_T

Deep in my heart, i still believe that we had chances of getting DQ games outside of Japan however, i also feel that as time past by and S-E not caring much of their handheld titles is showing death flag for DQ future outside of Japan.T_T

  • Magnumsally

Nintendo has to step up where square has failed and deliver the 4 3DS titles

    • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

We need to see Bravely Default first though.T_T Damn you S-E. Localized your own game here.

      • Anime10121

Unfortunately, unless their names are “Final Fantasy” or “Kingdom Hearts”, it doesnt seem as if SE has the confidence to release anything else in the west anymore :(

  • $29082171

And the first one is nowhere in sight for overseas.

  • Scissors

I still want Rocket Slime 3 localized. :(

  • MrRobbyM

Excuse me but where is my DQVII 3DS localization?

  • Warboss Aohd

ta answer yer question, no i am not.

  • EmptyStar

If this was a year ago, I’d be excited by this.

Now I’m jaded enough to not care at all, since we won’t get this… just like the past five DQ games.

Not a single **** is given.

  • http://alboreo.tumblr.com Alboreo

Excellent, another 3DS Dragon Quest game for us to never get. Ugh.

  • RisukuAozora

Apparently, Square-Enix sobered up some. Too bad his American/European counterpart is still drunk and doesn’t seem to be going home anytime soon.

  • Grape Monet

I don’t know whether to feel happy that there’s another DQM remake on 3DS or angry that we still haven’t gotten the first one or DQVII.

  • drios07

i need me some new dragon quest in my life, dont let me down square enix and nintendo!!!

  • ElAbuelo69

I loved Cobi’s Journey, it was my first DQ ever…

Of course I bet this won’t make it to the west -.-

  • DawnWolf

You know I didn’t want SE to buy Atlus, but thinking about it… if SE buys Atlus and absorbs their US publishing branch then they could delegate the localization of less high priority games (in Squares eyes) to the former Atlus team. Ergo Square publishes the big games, and has Atlus do the work for DQ and other such “niche” titles. …Or they have them work on the next iOS localization, that works too…
Just some random thoughts that popped in my head.

  • Solomon_Kano

It’s kinda sad that we were getting almost all of the games just a few years ago and now we can’t get any.

  • https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCVv1lEOaP0rJUQMutGSYgsQ Afarr

Hmm, Europe and Western Nations need Dragon Quest VII Remake, Dragon Quest Monster: Terry’s Wonderland 3D, Dragon Quest X, now this another game that will just stay in Japan!

  • Anna Scruton

Man, I loved Tara’s adventure on the GBC. I hope these come over even if the chances are slim.

  • GuyAlpha

    Square-Enix please. . .

    Please, Square-Enix.

  • School Idol Addict

Come on Nintendo, do the job S-E don’t seem to know how to do lately and localize this please.

    • J_Joestar

it’ll probably have to wait until after DQ7 which will probably have to wait until after Bravely Default.

  • Zeether

I swear to god if we don’t see any new Dragon Quest games here in the US I’m going to start Operation Slimefall. This has gone on long enough, Nintendo. You’re on notice.

Oh, and Square Enix can rot for closing the forums down on their website where several people INCLUDING ME begged for DQ games to be localized.

    • Tre W

To be fair, how can you really blame Nintendo for this? This is SE’s franchise, and Nintendo already had to likely pull some resources together just to take over localization duties for the sake of Bravely Default. Expecting Nintendo to do all of SE’s work for them is just not logical, as much as I wish Ninty had that kind of manpower that could translate DQ games all day.

      • Zeether

Well, what choice do we freaking have? Square Enix is too busy pandering to FF fans with yet another stupid sequel to 13 to care about Dragon Quest, and like I mentioned, they shut their forums down so e-begging won’t work. It’s not fair to us at all. I don’t care if we miss out on Monsters but a MAINLINE TITLE is not localized, a remake of that at that, and it’s just absolutely insane that Nintendo decided to pass on it. I’m angry at this and Nintendo BETTER localize VII after Bravely Default if it does well because I’m sick of us missing out on games all because of a stupid region lock.

And I’m jealous of anyone who says “I’m importing this” because they actually had the expendable income for a Japanese 3DS and can play it while I have to miss out all because of incompetent localization companies.

        • Tre W

Again, your quarrel should be with SE, not Nintendo. It’s SE’s franchise. They’re the ones who built up a halfway decent following in the US over the course of the last few years…only to let it fall to squalor here lately.

If they’re the ones who can’t be bothered to play ball and do a proper localization for VII, all while Atlus could do so for SMTIV? That should say something about SE’s current state.

          • Zeether

Yes, pandering to people who only care about Final Fantasy. I hate them for that. Lightning Returns does not deserve to exist.

  • KiTA

800 sounds like a lot, but that’s about what DQMJ2′s expansion, “Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker 2: Professional” had. And I believe DQM1′s remake had a lot too.

It’s a damned shame Dragon Quest is dead in the US or I’d be excited. DQM1 and DQM2 are two of my favorite Roguelikes and probably the best monsters games ever made.

  • Trevor Nicolaysen

SE has issues. They tried to bring over DQMJ2 over as the original version AFTER professional was announced. They have no idea what the fans want, little respect for them and they’re too busy with their “AAA” titles to realize that they could make a decent profit on these with fairly little risk.

  • Hinataharem

My heart cannot take this anymore
