By Sunjun . August 9, 2013 . 12:00pm

ss09 Falcom’s upcoming RPG The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Flash is centered around the members of class VII of Thors Academy.

Along with taking lectures and doing quests, you will hone your fighting skills to climb your way to the top of the class.

On the school fields, your fighting skills will be tested in sparring matches and mock battles. In an early part of the story, you will team up with one classmate to fight Laura and Fie.

Depending on the results of your schoolwork, you will receive AP (Academic Points). Depending on your AP, you are given a rank between B-7 to A-0. Each time you rise in rank, you receive a special item. In addition, if you fulfill certain conditions, the headmaster himself will award you with one of the four Lionheart Medals.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Flash will be released on September 26 for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita.

The school system seems way more important here than in persona. Well I guess if your going to use something that was popular in another game you have to top what they did.

    • MrTyrant

Storywise it should be more important since it’s a military academy and war is going to happen anytime soon. Gameplay wise it reminds me more to Valkyria Chronicles 2 with those exam and sidemissions that give you medals but it seems in this game you won’t have to possibility of doing them again.

I more concerned if it will have some impact in the dialogues if you fail a lot.

      • Slayven19

Well yes storywise I’d imagine its more important as well thanks to other games in the series. I concerned what will happen as well especially since I heard somewhere that they want people to do multiple playthroughs. Kinda hard to do that if the game is as long as I hear.

Integrate PE to schoolwork. Best way to force your students to fit.

  • Eileen Sy

I’m a bit confused. Who do you play as?

    • MrTyrant

I think the blue haired dude is the main character. Like others trails you might play with other character in some chapters to see their point of view. In the field maps you can use whover you want if that character is in your main party.

I believe it’s something along those lines.

I’ve never wanted to go back to school SO BAD :P

  • leingod

English version please? On the Vita too, please? :/

    • Slayven19

I bet if the game was on wiiU nintendo would localize it in a heartbeat. They need every game and I mean every game they can get right now.

    • jujubee88

God, this is too stylish and cool looking to not be localized.

I’ve not even been a big LoH follower, but for some reason this game just looks soooo juicy. :^)

      • leingod

In fact, I wasn’t a fan of the PSP entries either, but this one looks great… and the Vita could use a good RPG that isn’t a port / remake / rehash.

        • jujubee88

This is on PS3. And I don’t worry too much about exclusivity these days. If the experience is fun, the price is right I’ll just take it nice and easy and have fun playing the video game on my VITA.

          No stress express ;-)

That being said, these Falcom games need to get localized. I just feel they will do good enough to recoup and grow good feelings with the fans. Heck, I’d buy all the Falcom VITA titles, they just need to bring it.

          • leingod

Yep I know it’s on the PS3 but for some reason I’d rather play it on the Vita.

          • jujubee88

Me too. Mainly because it seems like it would hit the spot after I get done with Persona 4: The Golden and after I buy YS Celceta later on this year.

      • Slayven19

Lots of people think that way, you aren’t alone by a long shot. That’s why I have said before we should make an outcry for this game and let xseed know. Let them know that there is better reason to release this game over the others one’s especially since the psp is dead in the west and they won’t make any money from them.

With some marketing you can get some of persona fans and fans of other rpg’s to buy this game. They considered localizing sen kagura burst because of fans and they can do the same for this if we demand it. We make the rules they have to play by as we are the consumers, so we need to band together to let them know.

    Masochism. This is masochism.

  • I wouldn’t mind fighting Sara though =). Hnnnngggggggggggg! >_<

    • Crimson_Cloud

I wouldn’t mind having my ass kicked by Laura. :)

  • Kami nii

For some reason I want the vita version cause IMO RPG are good on handhelds persona 4 golden was the best! I hope they have balls to localize this and take the risk and trust the fans on the west

  • Kami nii

I think I would buy the vita version if it is localized RPG are best fit for handhelds IMO persona 4 golden is just awesome!! I just hope Falcom will have balls to localize this to NA and EU and trust they’re fans

  • fireemblembeast

For some reason, I thought of Harry Potter…
    XD I don’t know

  • ShadowDivz

This sounds so fun. I wonder if the persona team sees this as a challenge to make P5 even better?
