Love Live! School Idol Project Rhythm Game Will Perform On Vita

By Spencer . August 14, 2013 . 1:22am

imageKadokawa Games is also making a Vita game based on the Love Live! School Idol Project anime series. Love Live! School Idol Paradise (temporary title) is a rhythm action game from Dingo, the makers of Photo Kano Kiss and the Hatsune Miku: Project Diva games for PSP.

Love Live! School Idol Paradise is slated for release in spring 2014. Right now, the game has only been announced for Japan. However, NIS America has the rights to the Love Live! School Idol Project and are working with Kadokawa Games on Demongaze. Maybe they will pick it up?

It’s cool devs are making more Vita stuff, but a shame that most of it will stay japan-only…

  • Warukyure

I actually hope they do this, I’d buy it. And a lot of niche titles are making it over to america lately so the chances are actually better than zero.

If other companies can try to bring things over like Hatsune Miku, Dangaropa, and Holy Sorcery Story, don’t see why they can’t bring this over.

Maybe FFX HD could help push PS Vita sales so people can see it still has somewhat of a pulse

Killzone should help too, at least in the US.

      • jujubee88

I wonder if there is any crossover between the Killzone audience and the ones looking to buy this. I hope there is. :P

  • The anime was fun. I hope it gets localized since NISA has the rights to it. =)

  • Otoya

How about Idolmaster in Vita too? XD

    • plmko

That’s a question, even the Japanese are asking.

    • Renaldi Saputra

      ask Namdai for it..
but for localizing, hmm I doubt it

      • Keksus

I guess we can forget the localization part of Idolmaster after Namco fucked it up big time with the english version of Shiny Festa on iOS.

First of all: Why only iOS? Why not PSP and Android too? And did they really think that people outside of Japan are willing to pay 30 bucks for it?

        • Renaldi Saputra

maybe there’s still hope for releasing it onto android..
just like what Namdai did to Digimon Crusader..
they eventually made a port after around 7 months

          • Keksus

I guess only if the porting doesn’t cost them very much.

          • Renaldi Saputra

or maybe it’s bcos Card RPG are very popular on android so they made the port..

but for rhythm games, I don’t think so

    • M’iau M’iaut

Let’s all keep things on the subject of this game please.

  • To my knowledge, NISA has the anime, not the entire franchise. They’d need to get an entirely separate license for this.

How likely that is depends on whether or not the anime did well in the Crunchyroll streams.

  • Erikdayo

If the mechanics are decent I’ll definitely buy it. :)

  • kroufonz

N!S also have collaboration with love live in one of their game.

kamipara/The guided Fate Paradox seiyuu = Love Live cast., and they manage to maintain the japanese voice intact for western release, so maybe there is a bit of hope for localization.

    cmon NISA localize this!

  • Guest

Well, we will have to wait and see how Hatsune Miku fares in the west before looking forward to someone else taking a chance on another game :-)

  • Uzza

Hatsune Miku: Project Diva is actually made completely in-house by SEGA.

  • artemisthemp

I didn’t even know NISA had License Love Live (Anime), which is great, since they is my favorite Publisher of Anime :)

I would presume NISA would get the license for this game, if 1. Hatsune Miku does well in US/EU 2. Love Live Anime does well.

  • Yes, please. I hate idols and idol culture for many reasons, but Love Live is special and I love rhythm games.

  • I’ll be getting this

  • Kayseur

It’s my most awaited title on the PS Vita since its annoucement. I really hope Dingo will do a good job on it, the PSP’s Project Diva were cool and they have some experience on the PSV thanks to Photokano, now they just have to find good mechanics and do a good “package” (customization, fine-looking models or 2D vids and so on).

I hope we’ll have new infos on it soon. (Siliconera tricked me there, I thought some screens had been released…)

  • Aristides

Everyone let’s cross some fingers XP

  • Keksus

Isn’t School Idol Festival already on the Vita?

  • Milla

I love U’s and can’t wait for season 2 might pick this up but i suck at rhythm games lol.

  • Kami nii

Just Finished the anime and I was blown away.I’m definitely getting this even if its Japanese you can always study other language right? I’m hoping they localize this game :)

  • ShadowDivz

I didn’t watch the anime so im not familiar with this.
But i just can’t seem to grasp japan’s love of idols. Eh whatever, i do love Project Diva though.

  • I love games like this, so I’m hoping for a western release. My money is ready, N1!!

  • Repede91

I have only seen the first few episodes; but I liked what I watched, I really should go back to this show. I`d like to see NISA pick this up for domestic release too.
