Castlevania: Mirror of Fate 3DS Game Possibly Coming To 360 And PS3

By Ishaan . August 15, 2013 . 4:00pm

Play-Asia have a listing (thanks, Hachima) for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (The Collection), which appears to include an HD version of the Nintendo 3DS game Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate.

According to Play-Asia’s listing, the collection will include the following:

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow with Reverie/Resurrection DLC

A demo of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow – Mirror of Fate HD

In the past, developer MerurySteam have hinted at the possibility of bringing Mirror of Fate to HD consoles, so this isn’t much of a surprise.

Konami have not yet announced Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (The Collection), but Play-Asia have it listed for an October release for $35 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

It was obvious… I mean ¿QTE? ¿10 fps? ¿skyrim music? it was pretty obvious that they wanted to make another “AAA HARDCORE” home console game

    • ¡HEY! ¡That’s an insult to the Bethesda music composers!

  • hmm I was under the impression mirror of fate was mostly hated

    • KuroNathan

I got that impression too, though I also heard the first Lord of Shadows was ok.

      • lord of shadows was a rather good game nothing fantastic but good execution

        • KuroNathan

Hmm, I’ll wait for the collection on steam maybe then.

          • if youre on the fence about it, waiting for a steam sale is probably the best bet shouldnt be too long either but if youre a castlevania fan its worth checking out, patrick stewart alone makes it a recommendation in my book lol

          • Amine Hsu Nekuchan

Probably NOT if you’re a Metroidvania Castlevania fan though…. as the gameplay is in the GoW style.

          • im a metroidvania fan, i still enjoyed lords of shadow bought it day 1 too

          • Amine Hsu Nekuchan

…I misspoke. I meant to say, being Metroidvania-style Castlevania fan is no real measure by which to say if you might like LoS.

They are completely different in almost every way.

Edit: That said, Patrick Stewart is probably the reason I’m most interested in LoS and have it on my ‘look to buy during Steam sale’ list.

      • 60hz

good art , crappy frame rate, and derivative gameplay (think God of War but at 20-30fps)… so OK, i guess, tho i think so-called critics were dazzled by the graphics and gave it high scores…

    • Solomon_Kano

Depends on who you ask, I guess. Got mixed reviews.

Either way, it doesn’t really change anything for this supposed collection since they’re trying to get as many people familiar with LoS/MoF as possible before 2 hits.

      • SunOatBoatMatadorQuattro

The good stuff is that it brings back more classic Castlevania elements; It explores why the Belmonts hate Dracula. It has Alucard but with a different story. On the other hand, the gameplay…

        • Solomon_Kano

Can’t win em all, I guess lololol

        • AkuLord3

“It explores why the Belmonts hate Dracula”
Cuz…its hard to find out why >.>

          • Scrooge_McDuck

Why do the Belmonts hate Dracula?

          • lesangpro .

i don’t even understand why there is a need of this MoF game , if the game now focus about Dracula , why talk about Belmont when we know they will all fail ? And BTW , in MoF , the mirror , the fate , the whatever they want to show us are super duper hard to understand cause they relate nothing to the LoS ( the shadow , the mirror , the fate ??? )

      • i suppose it would make sense for them trying to push this one before LoS 2 hits

    • Jon McGuire

I liked it, but I can understand why people didn’t appreciate it.

  • Solomon_Kano

Sweet. Didn’t pick MoF up on 3DS or any of the DLC for the original, so this’d be great.

  • MrSirFeatherFang

Play Asia wasn’t wrong about Onechanbara Z… let’s hope this and AquaPazza for the west aren’t totally off either.

  • disgaea36

lol it’s starting to become pointless to buy certain games on the 3ds when they will get an hd port half of the time

    • Solomon_Kano

Two games is half the time?

Because other than this (which has yet to be confirmed), the only other that comes to mind is Resident Evil: Revelations. Correct me if I’m missing something though.

      • well there was also Mh3U but yeah side those 2 capcom titles nothing else comes to mind

        • Solomon_Kano

Hm. I suppose you could look at MH3U like that, but MH3 started on console before getting G on 3DS.

        • School Idol Addict

MH3U was kind of ported to the 3DS though, not the other way around.

          • i guess it depends on how you look at it

      • School Idol Addict

I guess for somes 2 games out of like 200 3DS games = half the time lol

        • Solomon_Kano

If that’s the case, I think I can understand them. I went to sleep in math too lol.

          • disgaea36

It was a joke guys relax. Man the backfire on this site is serious lol

        • Guest

guys it was a joke relax hahaha

    • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

aside from Resident Evil Revelation which is better on 3DS.

Also the critics like it better on 3DS and Wii U.

  • leingod

That’s a shame. Could’ve been a better fit on the Vita.

  • Hurrah! Now everyone can experience the mediocrity!

  • Spirit Macardi

Now PS3 and 360 owners can feel crippling disappointment as well.

  • ShawnOtakuSomething

    bwhaha…. :|

  • Jjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjjw

It was said that Konami wanted the game multiconsole, but had an exclusivity deal.
I guess that deal is over…

  • Umar Ver 1.Happy

Unless it is Mirrors of Fate HD : Fixed Edition, It’s not really that great of a thing, that said, it awesome for everyone following the story and who does not have a 3DS, but the game, while good, is nothing special

  • Lusankya

Sadly, it’s not a very good Castlevania game. All the NDS Castlevania titles were miles better.

  • Guest

I wish Konami would give the Castlevania series back to Igarashi and start making their own games again without getting another company to help them and they should get the Suikoden Team back together for a Suikoden VI
Suikoden 1 on PSN is still not VITA compatible and Suikoden II is not on there yet, Konami should make an HD Collection with Suikoden III, IV and V as well

  • Göran Isacson

I wonder. Do you think buying the old game used, getting the DLC and then just waiting for a separate release of MoF HD released on XboxLive and PSN would be cheaper? I guess we’ll have to wait and see where the pricepoint drops though. I guess it’s a good way to get new players up to speed regarding Lords of Shadow 2, because I can’t see any old fans having much use for this. They most likely already own Lords of Shadow, so buying Mirror of Fate HD on the online marketplaces if they haven’t already played the 3DS version seems the more economic choice for them.

  • Eric Harris

never like when portable games are thrown into console collections. They should be experienced on the original screen intended. Especially true for a 3D game with good 3D. Just real nitpicky on this.

  • artemisthemp

I hope Mirror of Fate HD will be release a standalone GAME on PSN, so I don’t have to pay for Lords of Shadows again.

  • Kevin Schwarz

People complaining about RE:Revelations, now we can complain about CMoF, justified.
