A Glimpse Behind The Design Of Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph Videogame

By Ishaan . August 18, 2013 . 1:30pm

In 2012, Disney release a side-scrolling Wreck-It Ralph platformer as an extension of their animated movie. The game took place after the events of the movie, allowing you to play as Ralph or Felix, and one of the concept artists who worked on the game has shared some of the work he did for it.

The concept art shows off stage design notes, detailing both art and game mechanics in some of the pieces, as well as designs for enemies and a mini-boss, and you can take a look at some of it below. The rest of the design concepts can be found at the link above.

  • Many are still waiting to see how they will do the sequel, which was already promised. Those designs show that the Movie holds Great Respect for Video Games!

Looking forward to the sequel, since they said they are going to take their time with the script. They also said it won’t be rushed.

      • Don’t you mean “Sugar Rushed”? Ahahahaha…. *sigh* that was terrible…

Oh god, that got a chuckle out of me.

I love chocolate chip mint but EVERYONE in my family hates it. That sugar rush mini boss does not help the case. lol

Dang! That concept art looks a whole lot better than the actual game turned out.

Exactly what I was saying, would’ve loved to see it in motion.

Wow, they had an amazing design plan for this game. I’m betting deadline and/or budget constraints from the publisher forced them to pop out the awful end result way too early. If only they had been given more time, these designs are probably a glimpse of what could’ve been…

Hopefully the Disney Infinity Wreck it Ralph Pack is a lot better
