Phoenix Wright Poker, Mega Man Solitaire And Other Capcom Card Games

Capcom made a bunch of spinoffs by throwing characters like Phoenix Wright and Mega Man into card games. And the result are games like Phoenix Wright Poker.

There’s also Phoenix Wright Hanafuda, which is based on a card game where you match floral cards.

Not to be outdone by Phoenix Wright, Mega Man has Mega Man Poker and….

Mega Man Solitaire.

The strangest game is Street Mahjong King which has Street Fighter characters Chun-Li, Dan, and Akuma in it.

Of course, these games haven’t been released in the West. Still interesting to see how Capcom uses their characters.

Let’s get this out of the way:

“When we asked for a Mega Man game, we didn’t mean this”

  • Shadowman

Protoman got one heck of a Poker face

I like how the Megaman Card games has sprites that doesn’t look like it came from the original games.

  • Firehawke

Honestly wouldn’t mind seeing a few of these on smartphone at the right price, but I don’t think the MM stuff would go over well in the current fan climate.

  • Byas

Wow, the sprite recycling on the Phoenix Wright games is extreme.

It’s nostalgic, and this ain’t a big deal anyway.

  • Mega Man “Solitaire”? What does that forebode for the Blue Bomber?

If we didn’t have card games, an effeminate spiky-haired psycho would have ruled the world ten times over by now.

      • Not to mention, Nintendo wouldn’t have existed in the first place!

No Nintendo = No mario. No Mario = No hats. No Hats = No Luigi and Mario. No Luigi and Mario = no mushrooms. No mushrooms = no growing, life ups, etc. No Growing, life ups, etc = death. Death = game over. Game over = Rage quit. Rage quit = less players playing the game now. Less players playing the game = game not selling enough. Game not selling enough = No Nintendo. No Nintendo = …

If serious — everyone knows the rules of their basic cultural card games and those who don’t know can figure out generalities very quickly.

You will find our folks will look to help out before getting caught up in endless bouts of junk. Yes, there is very much a place for these games in Japan.

Edgeworth: “HOLD IT! Three of a kind! I am victorious!”

Phoenix: “OBJECTION! Full House! I win!”

Gumshoe: “Hey, wait a minute, pal! I…..oh, I’ve got nothing.”

Calling it right now. BoF6 is a card game!

…I almost hope so at this point.
