Samurai Fighting Giant Bugs? Yeah, That’s What Mushibugyo Is All About

By Sunjun . August 23, 2013 . 2:30pm

Namco Bandai has revealed a trailer for their action-RPG adaptation of the manga/anime series Mushibugyo. As one of five characters, you must exterminate giant insects infecting feudal Japan.

Each playable character has his/her own storyline, and other characters from the series will be featured as Assist Characters who grant you special effects in battle. Just like in the anime, there will be fanservice, too.

Mushibugyo will be released for the Nintendo 3DS on September 19.

Is it me or are the graphics on the 3DS look quite bad? Seem almost identical to the old DS, which is like over 10 years old now.
I don’t understand what Nintendo has against decent hardware.

its just you bro. won’t find games like MGS 3 on a DS.

If you look at one piece unlimited world R it looks better then this. It’s the devs not the system

      • TheGameTagerZ

Actually they both play hand in hand with this. Unlimited R’s cutscenes are good but the gameplay itself when you see the images are average 3DS stuff.

Yeah I see what you mean now

That’s the wonder of the 3DS.

Low budget graphics are more acceptable (something like PSP with somewhat better shaders) and plenty of the users are more concerned with the gameplay.

I wouldn’t go as low as saying it looks like a DS title tho.

Low budget graphics are acceptable for so long.
Graphics and gameplay don’t have to contradict each other. I’m no graphic whore, but they could at least give developers something to work with. It will just end up limiting what they can do with the console.
The system is marketed by it’s graphics(3D) afterall, why would they market it that way when their graphics are so outdated to begin with? The handheld market is expanding with smart phones, and even Sony stepping in…I can play much better looking games on my phone for God’s sake.

Depends on the game. This is obviously a cheap anime tie-in by Namco. To a slightly cheap anime in the first place.

      It’s just you.

well blame nintendo its own games its graphically bad, full of jaggies, its not the hardware since its more powerful than the wii. games that could exploit the hardware like dead or alive, resident evil revelations shows that the portable its capable of more but nintendo and others want to keep recycling old assets

      • Suicunesol

It’s not more powerful than the Wii.

    • Suicunesol

3DS is at least as powerful as the PSP. And it has shaders too. Don’t compare to the DS.

You need a decent developer and a game that isn’t an anime tie-in if you want a decent-looking game.

One of the reasons i hate region-lock.

This reminds me of the old Naruto Gekitou Ninja Taisen commercials. Man Japanese game commercial announcers sure make things always seem hype! The game looks actually quite interesting as well I know I would have fun with it. Watching the anime too and I really like it. For those who know what’s up with the manga? I tried to read it but the chapters are all in weird order and seems like they just stopped.

    I want this.
