All Of Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies’ Costume DLC Is Coming To The West

While Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies’ Quiz DLC won’t make it over to the west, all of the game’s costume DLC will, including costumes that you unlock upon completing the quiz DLC.

Says series producer Motohide Eshiro in a fan Q&A:

In addition to the pack of three costumes that is already out in Japan, we are working to ensure that western users can also get the additional AA3 Phoenix costume which, in Japan, is part of the quiz DLC that we’ve previously stated won’t be coming to the west due to cultural localization issues. Stay tuned for more information on this!

Eshiro also pointed out that his favourite case in Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies is the third case in the game. “It’s set in a legal academy, and features what I think are the most unique characters and interesting story developments in the game,” he says.

Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies is slated for release this fall in the west.

    Well it’s something…
According to Aoshi, the quizzes aren’t even worth much too.

  • Yaay! Now I can replay in style!

  • Barrylocke89

The quiz sounded pretty dull so I don’t mind myself. At least I might have wanted the DLC costume.

WOW, I wanna meet the person that actually buys this! seriously, if it was a fighting game or something it MIGHT be justifiable, but costumes for a visual novel, point and click game? that’s insane!

I Remember playing the old Ace Attorneys and you barely got to see Phoenix Wright except in the court. unless The 3DS game is way different

It was free (now 150 Yen iirc) in Japan if you downloaded it in the first few weeks, so myself and other importers here snapped it up fast. If you guys are lucky, you will get a similar offer or just them free on the spot (I mean it’s a VN and they would earn VERY little money). The only benefit to them by having the costumes is that they have been able to use them along with the rest of the DLC (not sure how effective) to pressure people into buying earlier and not giving away your copy.

Even the Pirate Whale DLC is going for a cheaper price point (not free lol), till late September.

This game seems to have the camera focused on Phoenix in a few screens, probably reflecting us playing as Kokone or Apollo or something. I would love to defend in court dressed as Phoenix is in the screenshot above though.

I feel like this is the one genre where a DLC outfit actually matters, as we can be more focused on the characters themselves. In a fighting game it’s neat but the last thing on your mind is “Man I’m gettin’ my ass kicked…IN STYLE~”

      • British_Otaku

I don’t know, people seem to respect Love Falcon and Jigglypuff with a Hat in Smash Bros.
Even if the focus isn’t on the characters as much as what attacks you should be doing and avoiding, there is a chance of the script in the game contradicting what you are wearing though I guess that’s video games when they don’t write more to reflect how odd it is to be in swimming trunks on Lost Planet’s EDN 3rd or a respectable partner to Phoenix Wright being dressed as a school girl because…

I think the fact that you can see Phoenix speaking in the above screenshot already suggests things are different in regards to screen time.

Phoenix looks like a badass in whatever costume he is in!

  • abcdeee

I want badass AA4 phoenix who’s with me?

    • Rytan

Yes, please. I loved HoboNick. i think we’re one of the few rare exceptions, though.

    • XiaomuArisu

“The next time you hit me say ´Take that!´It will give you an extra push”
      Phoenix is the MAN!!!

make the physical cartridge happen first, then we will talk DLC …
