Criminal Girls Invitation Has Two New Playable Characters

"Playable" should be in quotes because Criminal Girls Invitation has a unique battle system where you don’t have direct control over the characters. You can suggest commands like "fight," but the girls can choose not to listen to you. See, Criminal Girls Invitation has players guide a group of girls on their way to reincarnation and each girl represents a different sin.

You might remember Tomoe (top left) and Coco (bottom right) from the PSP game. Himekami who is attacking the monster is new for Criminal Girls Invitation. So is the girl with the golden hairpin in the top right. Dengeki revealed a screenshot of the Vita-exclusive character, but didn’t share any details about her.

Criminal Girls Invitation is slated for release on November 28 for PlayStation Vita.

tsk.. hope this one finally finds its way here overseas…

    • Testsubject909

If not, at worst, there’s always the import choice… But I can’t read Japanese so it’d really be nice to get a localization.

    • Learii

      I hope so too

  • Xerain

Maybe we can convince XSeed to bring over this NIS game?

Yes, I know full well the insanity of what I’m suggesting. However obvious localization company already passed on it once before, on a system with a higher installation base, to boot.

With all of the surprising localizations recently (Senran Kagura, Danganronpa, etc.) this has my hopes up for a western release. Make it happen!

  • leingod

Are those girls really criminals? They look so cute.

    • Oscar Alberto Abrego Suarez

Yes, each one of them commited a sin related to the capital sins.

If you ignore the fanservice Criminal Girls has one of NIS more serious plots.

On topic, cant wait to see more of this new character.

So good story + fan service?

welp, I need this game NISA!

Her name is Yuko, not Koko. Her twin sister with the fists in other screens is called Sako.

Also, the girls will only not follow your orders if they’ve received absolutely 0 punishments (which is only usually when she joins your party). In practice, if they suggest it, they’ll always follow through (but should you have just obtained the girl, listening to the other girls is usually better until the new one has got some training in). Sometimes even do extra stuff depending on the situation like Kisaragi tossing out a quick paralyze move (the status effects in this game will even work on bosses, which is a life saver but is mitigated in their awesomness by the fact that the girls have other moves to suggest which can be just as good sometimes, Kisaragi likes paralyzing though so she’ll often go for it if she’s learned the move)

It’s an odd battle system, but it’s fun. Like playing a card game with a new hand each round.

Still putting playable in quotes? Damnit Spencer. Its like you hate the game or something.

  • SlickRoach

Seeing how this game is turn based I don’t think the suggestions will frustrate me too much seeing as it’s probably akin to using a high level Pokémon without a badge. I still remember Star Ocean: The First Departure’s Semi-Auto battle mode that dissuaded me from progressing more than a couple hours into it.

  • fairysun

Need a petition for overseas release.

  • Göran Isacson

A different sin? Are those the seven deadly sins, or some other sins they’re talking about? I mean, if they’re adding new characters they would have to add new sins, don’t they?

  • gangrelion

Isn’t this new character Myu from the beginning of the game? Because she REALLY looks a lot like her! Maybe she screwed up and ended being a prisoner herself.

    • ShadowDivz

I was thinking the dame thing! It really does look like her.
Man, punishing her is gonna be suh-weet.
