You’ll Get Bulbasaur, Charmander And Squirtle In Pokémon X And Pokémon Y

In most Pokémon RPGs, you get your starter Pokémon from the game’s Pokémon Professor. However, this won’t be the case in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, Nintendo and Game Freak shared in a Nintendo Direct presentation this morning.

In Pokémon X and Pokémon Y, you’ll receive your starter Pokémon from one of your friends within the game. As previously detailed, X and Y’s choice of starters are Chespin, Fennekin and Froakie. Once you choose one of these three Pokémon, you’ll begin your journey.

However, you’ll also get another Pokémon from Professor Sycamore, the professor in X and Y. Sycamore will allow you to choose one of the three original starters from Pokémon Red/Blue—Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle. Additionally, all three of them will have their very own Mega Evolutions in the game as well.

Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will be released on October 12th worldwide. You can watch this morning’s Pokémon Nintendo Direct in its entirety below. It includes the above mentioned details as well as the newly-announced Pokémon Bank service.
