Rathalos And Zinogre Return In All Their Glory For Monster Hunter 4

By Eugene . September 9, 2013 . 1:37pm

Two new monsters to hunt, kill, crush, maim and send weeping have been revealed on Capcom’s Monster Hunter 4 website in the final days leading up to the release of the Nintendo 3DS game—and they’re two of the most recognizable in the series.

The first is fire dragon Rathalos, spewing flame and using his speed and flight to swoop down on unwary hunters below. Referred to as the King of the Sky, his rookery (which houses his wife Rathian as well) overlooks his territory easily from on high. Be warned, the tip of his tail contains poison, and when he ground slams hunters to the floor is more than happy to take a healthy bite out of daring foes.

Also opposing unwary hunters is thunder dragon Zinogre. Using lightning and thunder while rending swipes of his razor-sharp claws and long tail lashes, he will also occasionally call on surrounding lightning bugs to grant him super-charged powers. If so, get far away, as the thunder god’s lightning strikes will annihilate all fools left around him.

Monster Hunter 4 for the Nintendo 3DS is out September 14 in Japan.

    I NEED this game D:

now where are Narga, Lagi (Ivory I guess since it’s land only) and Brachy?

    • 하세요

I can do without Brachy unless they nerfed Slime. It’s way too good right now. As a monster he’s fun and I love his theme but the element is just too good at the moment.

    • I doubt Ivy Lagi will return. They could make a new sub subspecies for the tundra. Ice Lagi.

    • Dexward

Imagine a quest that involves fighting the flagship monsters.

  • Godman

Where’s my Deviljho!? I want my Charge Axe carved from its corpse…

  • Pockystix

Zinogre Charge axe is gonna rock

though I must have my blazing sword

wonder which fire charge axe will be the most awesome. . .

  • Go2hell66

Lightning bugs? So thats what those things are?

    • Lakitu13

You can actually get some from his back.

    • konsama

Yeah, zinogre pulls thunderbugs to charge itself, similarly stygian zino absorbs dracophage bugs which feed on dragonfell berries, that’s how he gets his dragon powers from bugs.

      • teknik1200

people need to read more descriptions! there’s good stuff in there!

  • Please comfirm Deviljho!

    • 하세요

I’d be a sad panda if he didn’t make it. I just got a Jho figurine from a recent convention in honor of MH4.

      • I saw that figurine of him and Tigrex for MH4, that’s why I’m assuming he’ll be in it.

        • 하세요

Some random guy got Tigrex right in my face and it was the last one. In my head I was beating the hell out of him with my Insect Staff but on the outside…I merely shed a tear.

  • I hope barioth is in this game too, kirin and barioth armor ^ ^

Every time I think of rathalos this video comes to mind. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g6NUchBkl88

    • Marcelo Henrique Chaves

      Cute, awesome and funny.
      Thanks for sharing. =D

    • Flynn Scifo

      This is too funny xD

    • teknik1200

LOL that is indeed a good one!

  • Spider-Man

Rathalos is a Fire Wyvern. I believe Rathian has the poison tail. Rathalos also has the poison toe talons.

The Lightning Bugs are called Thunderbugs.

  • konsama

The game looks nowhere close to how that awful first video of MH4 did and even much better than back when it was supposed to be out on march-april. I mean, i never cared much for graphics if the gameplay is so good, but even i have limits, so glad.

Can’t wait to play this. >_<
