Sengoku Basara 4 Will Have An Alternate “What If” History Mode

By Eugene . September 11, 2013 . 3:34pm

While the fast paced brawler Sengoku Basara 4 will only grace Sony’s PlayStation 3 next year, more details are being put forth by Capcom on the cast and system. Latest to be unveiled are poster boy Sanada Yukimura, loyal ninja Sarutobi Sasuke and anti-Takeda general Ii Naotora.

There will also be an alternative history mode called Warring Periods Creation Mode, reports game blog Game Jouhou. Here, players will get to choose their own commanders and fight in what-if battles or create their own alternative bouts of army-versus-army action, with the ability to select options such as difficulty, rewards, and even the music.

Sengoku Basara 4 will be out on Sony’s PlayStation 3 in 2014.

Maybe if we scream “English release plz!” loud enough in every SB4-related thread, Capcom will eventually localize it…with proper advertising and such…right? right???

    • Warboss Aohd

      propa Advertisin’?

o’ dat’s rich, ya think da head’s o’ Capcom are smart enough to actually advertise thingz.

      • 07thCrow

Yep, one would think. But then we look at Sengoku Basara: Samurai Heroes… (=_=)

        • Warboss Aohd

i’m aware, i woz insultin’ Capcom fer bein’ terrible at advertisin’ thingz.

  • I wonder how many people here will import it

    • Magatsu

I know I will, imported Utage and the HD collection so I have no problems importing this one.

    • Wappuli

I will do so right away when possible, just like I have done with all other Sengoku Basara’s.

  • leingod

Sounds like standard-fare modes from an “Empires” edition of Dynasty Warriors games. That’s pretty cool though, the Capcom games were lacking in modes.

  • Ixbran

if it wasn’t obvious this series was a copy of Dynasty Warriors before, it sure is now.

its like every time Koei comes up with something, Capcom decides to copy what they did. first the concept it self, then character switching, and now ‘what if’ routs in story mode

    = – =

i love this series, but seriously Capcom should have at least tried to be a little more original with this.

  • Weird Al Yankovic

No Kasuga and no Nouhime = no buy. And with Mitsuhide being turned back into an NPC even though he was playable in Utage I can already tell they’re gonna withhold a lot of characters for the expansion later, including these two.

Oh man I cant wait for this I’m so excited I think I wet myself my mind and body is ready for SB4

  • Tristan Diaz

Always love me some Basara! :)

  • surachokes

As if Sengoku Basara’s story isn’t “What If” enough…

  • Max

This mode seems interesting I hope they pull it off. I just hope we got an English release.

  • Yan Zhao

So basically, it has Dynasty Warriors Empire mode within. Too bad its probably not gona get a western release.
