Ages Of Amazones Shows Off Characters And Sci-Fi Dungeon Exploration

By Eugene . September 13, 2013 . 12:29pm

The latest trailer for Arc System Work’s upcoming all-female prison planet escape RPG, Ages Of Amazones, shows off the cast of characters, real-time footage of dungeon delving and some of the foes players will have to defeat. As the video shows, movement in the dungeon will be tile-based, similar to other dungeon delvers such as Etrian Odyssey. Fortunately for more casual players, Amazones has an automap feature.

The trailer also shows some of the other criminal inmates players have to defeat or interact with, such as purple-winged Tenshi or mermaid Pirates. Character designs for Years of Amazones was done by High School DxD artist Miyama-Zero and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus concept artist Shigetaka Kimura.

Ages of Amazones is set on all-female prison planet Uruca, with its cast of characters looking to prison break escape through a spaceship hidden somewhere on the planet.

Ages of Amazones will be released for the Nintendo 3DS in Japan on November 14.

    oh man… dat tanned maid….

day one buy if ASW USA brings this over.

    • CirnoTheStrongest

Day one 3DS purchase if Askys brings this! I’ve held off for a long time on getting a 3DS, but this would push me over the limit!

      • Bigabu Beaze

        Yeah get on it Askys!!

        • British_Otaku

Aren’t you guys mispelling Aksys? >_>
Or is that a pun on the fact you are asking them for something… Never mind…

I hope it gets localised too, even if they did me a solid and aren’t planning a big limited edition to make me feel inferior if I don’t pay 100s of dollars for it.

No exploitative DLC too, just exploitative fanservice.

          • CirnoTheStrongest

            lol
That was completely a typo on my part, but it is pretty funny how it worked out that way

          • TheExile285

Yeah I was talking about Arc System Works. They publish some stuff in US now (like Chaos Code)

          • British_Otaku

Arc System Works publish and bring over some games themselves now? I saw it in your first post, but it’s still news to me, I bet that they had another distributor do that games for Europe…

What do you know… It looks like they haven’t assigned another publisher to Chaos Code’s European localisation but it is still under TBA. I suppose if it is a PSN release, it doesn’t make that much of a difference.

          • Bigabu Beaze

Aksys is good too. Get to it as well Aksys!

    • Kai2591

I like how she cutely handles those grenades with a smile :)

      Bakudan Meido!

  • アティ

3DS…? T_T why!? why does it have to be on the system i dont have……

    • TheExile285

3DS is pretty cheap. Just buy one…..

      • Audie Bakerson

Importing something with a battery tends to not be cheep.

      • アティ

Really? I guess i should have look at its market price >_>
Never had a nintendo system before…

  • Suicunesol

Yeah, um, guys. I’d have thought this game might have a chance at localization until the touching scenes at the end. I don’t care if it isn’t what it looks like either. That’s not gonna pass…

But it looks good, anyway! I knew it was a dungeon crawler, but at least it has 3D battles.

    • Warboss Aohd

      gotta agree

    • CirnoTheStrongest

I think it could still make it through. Aksys did bring Agarest 2 in tact. Even though you could massage up a loli.

So, it’s not completely out of the picture just yet!!

      • Suicunesol

There was a ruckus about Agarest 2 even when it was on a Sony system.

        On 3DS? No way Jose.

        • CirnoTheStrongest

          A ruckus doesn’t mean it won’t happen.

          • ShadowDivz

3DS is kinda seen as a children’s console.
Throw in the fact that mere cleavage seems to get an uproar nowadays, there is just no way in hell this is leaving japan.

Granted Senran Kagura is getting a physical release in europe. But still, those touching scenes. O_O

      • ShadowDivz

        “massage a loli”
        or
        “touch up a loli”
“massage up a loli” doesnt sound right

  • Leon_Tekashi

Lets see..After seeing that touching part, the chances of this coming over drops significantly. If it does get localized, well….Chances are it will be digital only.

    • CirnoTheStrongest

Digital only is better than having to buy a JP 3DS and import the game.

    • British_Otaku

It seems we have gotten used to thinking that games which have risky content get a digital release only, I don’t mean to say that people or kids you don’t want to access it won’t be able to pick up a copy from the store so make it a full retail/digital thing…

However, people/kids are still able to access some form of it through the e-Shop (three 3D images of belts for bras and maybe a video) and they could still pick up a system which happens to have the game in it.

Ultimately, as far as preventing poor PR, a digital release only goes so far and still leaves it or images of it in the access of any one with a 3DS and anyone who uses the internet. So a digital release only makes sense to me if it is to reduce costs of production, primarily with games which aren’t big enough to carry a big price tag or proven to sell in the retail market (so Ace Attorney in my opinion has no excuse and this is a little iffy in comparison).

If possible, could you name other games which only got digital releases primarily because of potential controversy, I only seem to see it happening the 3DS and then I see Code of Princess physical in the States (not in Europe) or the opposite for Senran Kagura with circumstances suggesting that it is cost related.

    • ShadowDivz

      drop? they become none existant.
Even i replayed that part because i was like “whaaaaat”?

  • Brandonmkii

Monster girls? Prison planet? I kind of need this.

  • British_Otaku

Of course, the hidden/sealed eye has a secret power… >_>
I swear, it feels like only One Piece and Senran Kagura haven’t gone for that trope…

  • ShadowDivz

    3:13
Wtf? Is that a mermaid in space?
    How is that even….?

    • DyLaN

Males somehow dissapeared in their world and you are concerned about space mermaid?

On an unrelated note, space werewolf when Japan?

  • Damarius Wingfield

O to the PIE! (meme by me)

  • raitouniverse

Sigh… and there goes all chances for a localization… unless Aksys is nuts.

  • DyLaN

…….I’m curious how do the females have kids since the trailer mention males have dissapeared and become a legendary existence.

Dat minigame O_O Well, MG did come over just with the minigame removed and the 3DS SK come over too…. I dunno.
