By Ishaan . October 1, 2013 . 9:00am

Hot on the heels of the PS4 and Xbox One announcement, Comcept have announced that Mighty No. 9 is also headed to the Nintendo 3DS and Vita.

The 3DS and Vita versions of the game will be handled by Abstraction Games, the studio that brought Hotline Miami to PlayStation platforms.

Hype. Part of the reason why I was more interested in Shantae (aside from knowing more about the project from the get go) was because of it was aiming for a hell load of platforms from the beginning. It’s good to see this game get so many goals fulfilled.

There is still a hidden goal, single player Call stage and boss, online battle race mode (I hope for local as well) and an optional retro soundtrack and SFX but the platform goals were the big ones.

    • InfectedAI

It made the Call stage and boss stretch goal. With only 3 hours to go I doubt it’ll make the retro audio goal and much less the race mode, but I’m just glad it made the 3DS/Vita goal. I think this will be one of the few games I get twice. I’ll use my pledge to get the PC version and buy it off the eShop when it hits the 3DS.

      • Zeik56

The retro audio is very possible if you factor in the paypal funds. If they haven’t actually hit that goal already they’re very close. The last one seems pretty unlikely though, but who knows.

Edit: And they reached the audio goal.

        • InfectedAI

I hope they reach the race mode goal, it’s getting close to the end.

  • Shady Shariest

Roll: “And once again, the day is saved by…” now.
    Hype, too much hype.

  • TheExile285

AWESOME! Vita & PS3 versions for this Exile (hopefully with Cross-Save)

    • Learii

      cross-play or cross-buy

      • JuhRo

        both, hopefully.

      • TheExile285

No point in cross play unless they hit the online mode stretch goal. I doubt this would be cross buy. That is something you usually only see with Sony 1st party multi-plats and certain indies.

        • InfectedAI

Well this could fall under the category of certain indies. Also the online co-op mode stretch goal was made a while back. A few days ago.

          • TheExile285

Oh crap, didn’t know that. AWESOME!

          • InfectedAI

Well you’re probably aware by now, but they reached every single stretch goal. There’s also a head to head race mode now.

    • Ric Vazquez

Yes, vita version for me too

  • 하세요

Alright, now I’ll get this game. For 3DS.

    • jujubee88

      Same. But VITA.

  • Godman

And with that this game can now be access by any gamer out there
Handheld, console(This and Next-Gen) and PC
This game is going to do so well! I really hope to get that Call stage to seal the deal even further

    • J_Joestar

yeah, now there is no excuse for anyone not to get it now, unless all you have is a phone/tablet.

    • InfectedAI

Call stage and boss goal met, rejoice!

      • Godman

        Yeah!!!!

  • Anime10121

PS4 and Vita (as i will undoubtedly have one by the time Gravity gets heavier for GR2) for me!!!

  • Tincho D
    • SetzerGabbiani

So that’s what happened to Panty after that ridiculous ending, lol!

      • J_Joestar

They have the technology. They can rebuild her!

      • FlyingPony

OMG. That ending hurt my head very much.

    • DragKudo

She needs to be a different character that flirts with Beck and acts like a guide for him….

  • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

You guys do have a 3DS/Vita tag, why dont you use it?

    • InfectedAI

I guess they edited it because they’re in now.

  • eilegz

hopefully by the time it get released this thing will have crossbuy and crossplay

  • AkuLord3

They say it never be done but i seen miracles before…i how i can say *gets a pipe* SMASHING HA?!

  • Xaltmas

How do they expect to get a game running on Unreal to work on 3DS?

    • Chris Evan Jonance Ingeniero

we will never know~ what if the “Unreal engine wont work for 3ds” is just an excuse for developers not to make or port games to the 3ds back during the time where the 3ds is crawling and picking up its pieces from no sales and no devs (similar to the wii U today)

    • Chris Evan Jonance Ingeniero

also this http://www.ubergizmo.com/2011/03/3ds-can-handle-unreal-engine-2-says-ubisoft/~ tho sadly its just Unreal engine 2 and not 3

    • O.O

YOU DESERVE A MILLION UPS FOR THAT BEAUTIFUL QUESTION!!

    • almostautumn

I expect a garbage port like most of the 3DS console ports (Sonic Generations, Rayman Origins, etc). That said, I sure as hell hope they undertake the Vita edition with more attention, as there is no reason it should run anything less than stellar and equivalent to the other versions there.

      • Justin Revere

The Rayman Origins port wasn’t garbage at all lol

      • British_Otaku

        Wasn’t Origins fine for the 3DS? >_>
Sonic Generations wasn’t a port, it was a meh companion game, it’s like calling a GBC Harry Potter game a terrible port of a GameCube one. >_>

        • Kefkiroth

Origins was pretty awful actually. The controls weren’t nearly as responsive, ran at 30 FPS, and had garbled audio. A shame since you wouldn’t think a platformer would be so demanding.

          • almostautumn

I was really let down by it; after playing Mutant Mudds and Mighty Switch Force I had this mentality that all 2D-style games on 3DS were going to be f-ing awesome alongside the 3D effect. I turn it off for the 3D games, but I really loved it in MSF and MM— but man was Origins crap, especially in comparison to the Vita version. That was the title that pushed me over to just saying forget about it with the 3DS, alongside the growing library of import-exclusives that we’re not entitled to play.

          • British_Otaku

            >_> I see, I had only fiddled around with the demo of that game, not even the console versions for a length of time. It doesn’t sound like an ideal port at all (especially the controls, maybe that’s part of why that chase was so hard for me?) but solid enough for someone completely ignorant of all of the other ones…

      • TheExile285

I’m a bit fearful that they would just port the 3DS version to Vita. HOPEFULLY that does not happen….

    • Areuto

well it would make sense if they we’re to give it the nintendo touch usually when its comes to multiplatform + nintendo = graphics downgrade *Sad Truth*

  • Zonron

your earned my money comcept. “throes huge stack of cash at amazon”

im a man of my word after all

  • artemisthemp

Hope the Call Single Player Stage is reach before Mighty No. 9 End

    • InfectedAI

      It was. :D

  • Mister_Nep

I’m just at awe with how much these guys have amassed in kickstarter money. I supported this game within the first 48 hours, and it’s just been a crazy journey since then.

  • Zangetsu777

    SINGLE PLAYER CALL STAGE REACHED!!!!!!

LETS SHOOT FOR ONLINE BATTLE RACE MODE!!

  • kylehyde

Now the question for me is which engine is going to use the 3DS version, I mean vita can handle well UE3, but 3DS can’t handle it (not bashing just saying, is more than know that I love the 3DS). The only engine or framework that I know that can do an awesome job on the 3DS is the mt-framework, but this will be kind of impossible to use on this case(we know why). Anyway I trust that this is going to an awesome game for all the devices in which is going to be released

    • InfectedAI

Curious about that too. Apparently Ubisoft got UE3 running on the 3DS a while back, so it is possible. I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

      • British_Otaku

It was apparently Unreal Engine 2, that Ubisoft were running.
Chances are they may use another engine for the game, not this one that they used for a test video. >_>

        • InfectedAI

It’ll be interesting to see what Abstraction does. And if they start on it now or wait until development is more further down the line.

  • Zangetsu777

    RETRO STYLE SOUNDTRACK+SFX ACHIEVED!!

    ALMOST AT ONLINE BATTLE RACE!!!!!

  • hazelnut1112

Can’t wait for this. Looking to pick it up on the 3DS.

  • Shadowman

WOOOOOO!!!!! 3DS version here I come!

  • Guest

    3ds needs this

  • leingod

Nice… this is perfect for play on the go. Vita version it is for me!

  • Göran Isacson

All stretch goals broken. All features included. Oh yeah… this is gonna be GOOD.

So! Which console version are you all getting? I’m aiming for the WiiU for mine.

    • British_Otaku

Wii U for a console version and 3DS + Vita for a portable version. If I like the game enough, I might think it’s worth supporting both portable versions.

      • Göran Isacson

Ooh, going for a doubledip? Don’t have the budget for that personally, but if I did I think I would wait and see what the respective versions will look like. They will probably do some kind of funky visual style to ensure the 3DS can handle the game despite some limitations, and if that style looks good enough I might be interested in that version… but if not, Vita would be the way for me.

    • s07195

      3DS/PC, most likely.

      • Göran Isacson

I see. I for one would probably not go for a PC version, mostly because this ol’ faithful is not really fit for anything but internet surfing these days.

    • Testsubject909

      PC. Linux. PS4 and PSVita.

      Why?

Because I said FUCK IT and just tossed my credit card at them.

      A 250$ Pledge + 30$ INTL Shipping
      A 120$ Pledge + 20$ INTL Shipping
      A 99$ Pledge + 20$ INTL Shipping
And 41$ for the USB Steam Copy via Paypal.

      • Göran Isacson

… I must admit- I am in awe. That is DEDICATION to the Mighty cause. Or abuse of your card-account, whichever fits the bill the most.

    • TheExile285

      Vita + PS3 or PS4 version.

      • Göran Isacson

Ah, planning on getting a PS4 on release day, or is this a “future investment” for the day you eventually buy a PS4?

        • TheExile285

Future investment lol. I haven’t even had my PS3 or 3DS for a year and its barely been 2 with Vita so I’m content atm. The reasons for getting a PS4 are slowly but surely piling up for me though.

    • Chido55

Vita for me. Am also supporting another gems of Inafune’s, Soul Sacrifice.

      • Göran Isacson

Aah, that makes sense. While I do own a Vita myself, I think I’d like to play this one on a bigger screen, hence the WiiU choice. Though having it on the go IS a pretty tempting concept as well…
