Wheres the rest of the party?

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

Those play-arts figures not only look horrible but are way too expensive. Do these actually sell?

    • Randy Marsh

They do sell. I don’t think they would be making more if they didn’t.

    • Namuro

I actually bought Sephiroth and Vincent many years ago. The paint jobs are all right, but they have the most deadpan expression, like ever. The worst part, though, is the articulation. I like collecting action figures, and Play-arts figures are one of the worst articulated figures I’ve ever come across. I mean Vincent can’t even lift his arms up because the top of the coat is in the way. Then there’s Sephiroth who can’t spread his legs because, once again…, the coat is in the way. (The newer version of Vincent with the torn up coats seems to allow the arms to move up a little more, but I’m not going to buy a duplicate just because of that!)

A shame really. The sculptures are actually quite nice (but it’s less impressive when you look at the real things, for some reason), but the articulations and the prices kinda put you off. I haven’t been following the Play-arts series for a while now, I believe they have improved on the articulations and everything, but I still don’t trust them… Besides, I’d rather invest in something else by other makers, like the Rathalos Hunter by RIOBOT!

Although…having said all that. I still want Advent Cloud and the Fenrir Bike though…

      • FlyingPony

Advent Cloud.. I would buy it in heartbeat.

Sephiroth and Tifa needs an update graphics wise and be rereleased. If the good folks at Sqaure Enix needs help with how to update in a respectable manner, they can ask the good folks over at Team Ninja. Imagine Tifa and Sephiroth with Dead or Alive graphics, jum!

I always have problem with their design. It is their face that looks weird. I personally prefers Revoltech and Figma. I also like Sentinel. The quality of Sentinel is top notch. But they are expensive.

The dissidia play arts kai line were actually pretty good (especially Gabranth) so I wouldn’t say they are all horrible. Although I do agree that those two particular play arts kai are bad.

I’d rather a statue than a knobby figure; the joints really don’t make it look too good, and the clothing compensates too hard for multiple poses

    • Rogerrmark

The joints totally mess up the proportion sometimes.
Tidus looks so strange, lol. Dat small head is bizarre.

  • Jordan Coleman

    They look pretty awesome.

  • Godmars

Surprised they didn’t make them all Lightning.

    • Jordan Coleman

They come with Lightning Returns costumes in her place.

  • Nicky Tetlow

They’re on sale on other sites too like AmiAmi http://www.amiami.com/top/detail/detail?gcode=FIGURE-002526&page=top, much cheaper too.

  • gk2012

What? I’m pretty sure the 12″ figures I bought long ago were the same price. o.O

And Tidus looks too “sexified”, his suspender/tanktop/belt-thing aren’t that low.

  • Neppygear

    Needs more dresspheres.

  • Dark Zerato

Yuna looks fine, but Tidus, especially his hair, looks very weird. Does his hair look like this in the remaster ?

  • Riseabovethesky

I really like Yuna but I’ve got to say, I always thought her boots look horrible.

  • Croix Zapp

    1 word. overpriced

    • Detrimont

8000-10000 yen is normal price for these things

  • Pedro Furtado

Does this give any sort of clarification on a release date?

  • http://jaydesummers.wordpress.com/ Jay

I think I’d rather have a reproduction of the X-2 Play Arts to complete my YRP collection.

  • new_tradition

I prefer trading arts, though I do have play arts Dissidia Squall and Ffviii Selphie. Quite happy with them overall ^^

  • Sesshomaru

I hate figures. I have the Play Arts Yuna from X. Her arm fell off. I want a statue!

  • Alexandra Cordes

Oh the poses I shall put them in~
