Experience’s specialty is making gorgeous dungeon RPGs and Tokyo New World Record: Operation Abyss is on par with games like Demon Gaze.

Similar to how Demon Gaze takes place in the same world as Students of the Round, Tokyo New World Record: Operation Abyss shares the same world as Labyrinth Cross Blood Infinity. Alice Mifune (far left), captain of the EXP Corps and a Hinowa High student, is one of the game’s main characters. She’s renowned for her leadership abilities. Noriko Hibino (middle left) is also from Hinowa High and she is the student class president with a gentle personality.

Masa Muramasa (middle right) is a mysterious girl that resides in the Babel Labyrinth. She appears to have a female body with mechanical parts. The only male character revealed so far is known as the Mysterious Man (far right). Players run into him inside a dungeon and he doesn’t appear to be an enemy, but his motivations are unknown.

Since this is a dungeon RPG players create their own party and you can bring six characters down into a dungeon.

GOSH! I want all of Exp’s DRPGs. I’m so grateful that we’re getting Demon Gaze. Now we just need Labyrinth Cross and everything else. =(

  • DAT Bird From DAT Cage

    Gorgeous of Dungeon Crawlers

Someone PLEASE JUST LOCALIZE THIS [email protected][email protected]!

Look at those character portraits! Does anyone spot a Say’ri in there but a more bad-ass/tsundere form?

Dungeon Crawling has never been so vivid, so colorful, so vibrant on the PSVITA!

    • TheExile285

*cough*Buy Demon Gaze and NISA probably will*cough*

      • DAT Bird From DAT Cage

But is Demon Gaze a good game? Does it have a good story?

        • TheExile285

I don’t know about the story, but its made by the exact same developers as this so i wouldn’t think the quality would be that much different

          • DAT Bird From DAT Cage

What about Demon Gaze art seems less “awesome” than this game? Is it still worth it?

          • TheExile285

I personally think so but I guess that is up to you

  • Zeonsilt

    That illustrator(s)/artist(s) is really great.

  • Keine

    crossing my fingers for localisation…

  • Azzrem

More rpg is better..i think i’ll be getting vita soon..

  • Loving the art! I don’t even need to say anything else that hasn’t been said already.

  • TrueDefault

    Whoaaa, I’m super hyped!

  • Love this artwork.

  • gerald

As an old Wizardry fan, I’m happy to see all these new dungeon crawlers coming out of Japan. If only they were as punishing as the older games.

  • TheExile285

The artwork is very very nice. In NISA we trust! (Assuming everyone interested in this at least buys Demon Gaze localization)

    • The part in parentheses cannot be overstated. It’s so important to show what you want with more than hyped-up comments :D

(I had to do lots of talkin’ to help NISA decide Demon Gaze was as awesome as I personally thought it was, so…I have a personal interest in it doing well!)

      • DAT Bird From DAT Cage

But is Demon Gaze worth it to pick up? Does it have a good story and characters?

        • Of course it’s worth it ;)
I can’t read kanji, so I can’t comment on the story or the characters…but from what I gleaned, I enjoyed them.

All the shopkeeps get background events sort of like the Atelier games, but your own party is self-made a la Etrian Odyssey I-IV.

      • Demeanor

Oh, so Demon Gaze is going to be localized? Didn’t know that. I’d like to pick it up, if anything to see whether I’d enjoy a 1st person dungeon crawler rpg.
Tbh the concept sounds to me like it belongs to a different era (I’ve been playing rpgs since the Genesis age), but I want to keep an open mind and try it out anyway before passing judgement.

      • Ladius

We all knew you were a great guy :) Good job in helping NISA expand its portfolio, especially if you guys can’t count on the IFCH games much longer (if Idea Factory International actually is set up to localize games, that is).

  • Oh my God is this game beautiful! That art style is absolutely gorgeous! Also, I want that dual wielding priestess on my team =^_^=

NISA you know what to do lol =)

  • Aristides

I really wish EXP had a US branch or at least a company who localizes all/most of their titles… I know Demon Gaze is coming over but… they got so many great games exclusive to Japan X_X

  • DyLaN

I thought some of the art were done by Mel Kishida. But it appear tht I need to study more abt illustrators.

Nice art. We need moar EXP games localized just for the art porn. But DG is a good start.

  • tubers

Nice. The 2D art looks good.

Hope they put more budget next time on the dungeon textures. It’s not like it’s rendering anything heavy.

  • ChiffonCake

Hmm… looks interesting, and female protagonists are always nice. Looking forward to seeing gameplay.

  • Cursingcomet

Ahhhh! This looks so good!, hope they localized this too.
