A little tidbit about Super Robot Taisen OG Infinite Battle, a mecha fighting game with the originally created robots from Namco Bandai’s series, comes from Dengeki PlayStation.

Super Robot Taisen OG has 3 vs. 3 team battles. Also, Gespenst (in addition to Gespenst Mk-II pictured on the right) and R2-Powered are playable in the game.

Super Robot Taisen OG Infinite Battle is slated for release on November 28 for PlayStation 3.

  • Still waiting for this game to come. I still wonder when will Namco Bandai go back to localizing this series to the west and/or make a Super Robot Wars game with some of the Western Mecha IPs? Wasn’t “Pacific RIm” a smashing success over there?

    • I doubt about localization. What is the lastest srw game that got localized? I can’t recall one.

      • Well, in known history, only two OG games and one Spin-Off title (two, if you count Project X Zone) were released to the west by official means. Still, their hold up is still about their unresolved Licensing issues with the Mecha franchises, which still doesn’t explain why any of the OG titles after the first two didn’t ever came here. Anything close to a pure SRW title coming to the west is highly unlikely due to that.

If this game uses Gundam vs battle system, then it is sold.

Doesn’t seem like it so far, with the trailers shown so far. The system even seems more Gundam Battle/Memories mix than GvG. If it were GvG style though… it’s a done deal.

With the boost bar and cinematic attacks I have to say it’s closer to ACE:R gameplay. Which is also not that good.

Really, so long as it doesn’t end up like Battle Robot Damashi, I’m fine with it.

  • VenerableSage

Is it actually the original Gespenst, or is it just the Gespenst RV (a renovated version of said original), given that the RV was shown in the collage of mechs at the start of the one PV *ages* ago? (As seen in the thumbnail image for a previous article, to the right of Dygenguard: )

  • Sardorim

As long as it isn’t mandatory like Battle of Z”s 4 characters on player team always thing I’m fine with this.
