Namco Europe Register Domains For One Piece: RED And Maybe J-Stars Victory Vs.

By Ishaan . October 18, 2013 . 3:32pm

Namco Bandai have registered a number of new domains in Europe, Kotaku columnist Superannuation reports. Among these is a domain for One Piece Unlimited World: RED on the Nintendo 3DS.

Two other domains are for something called “Awakened Legends Vs.,” which sounds like it could potentially be a localized title for J-Stars Victory Vs., an arena fighter featuring a cast of Shounen Jump characters.

Finally, the third domain of note is for something called Naruto Revolution. This doesn’t sound like anything Namco have announced yet, but it does sound suspiciously like Tekken Revolution, the recently released free-to-play Tekken game.

Oh god, yes… bring it on Namco. If you could bless other countries with Jojo’s PS3 Adventure localization, you can pull of J Stars Victory Vs. I can feel the hype building up in my very bones. >:)

  • Carlos Luis Ayala

    J Stars come on!!!

  • XYZ_JolteonZ980

Please be a hardcore JRPG Tales of Style RPG but with Naruto and Naruto Shippuden spanning the whole series in cel shaded style for ps4 please. I need.

And J stars too, if it has Haikyuu!! characters (kageHina) and Karma Kun of Assassination Classroom fame. Yuma Kuga of World Trigger too…

    • British_Otaku

The PS3′s got life in it yet, let’s not push for licensed exclusives to the PS4 when it isn’t out and I can’t even afford to buy another PS3 because of all of the games and limited editions. >_>

I need to pick up World Trigger again, apparently the first volume is out so it must be around 10 chapters then… >_> Rather young for a video game debut, but sure.

Frankly, I’ll be really (pleasantly) surprised if J-Stars Victory somehow manages to get an overseas release. Crossover titles like that tend to have a ton of licensing overseas that prevents them from coming over.

Granted, we did get Project X Zone, but that title benefited from the fact that all the licenses belonged to the three companies involved and that all of them had overseas subsidiaries. I’m not sure if the same applies to J-Stars.

Either way, the fact that Jump Super Stars wasn’t released outside Japan doesn’t bode well for J-Stars Victory’s chances.

J-Stars uses only Jump characters. Jump is run by Shueisha. Shueisha owns half of Viz. Viz is the only one allowed to bring over manga from Shueisha. At least, that’s how it’s like in North America. Even the anime rights for confirmed characters are split between 2-3 companies at most.

As long as the situation in Europe is at all similar, it may be possible.

      • FJLink

Well, each country here has different publishers for every series, so it’s a little harder… But Capcom managed to bring Tatsunoko, so I’d
        say it might be possible.

  • Jahred Down

If Europe gets both of these and North America doesn’t, I may cry. (That Better?)

    • Darkon the DemonLord

if europe gets it then just get an import, it’ll be an english version of the game thats playable

      • GameWinner

The 3DS is region locked. Fortunely Vita isn’t so that’s one game.

  • GameWinner

    IT’S HAPPENING!!
    …I hope..

  • British_Otaku

Better not forget America with Unlimited World: RED… >_> It isn’t region free unlike J-Stars Victory Vs.

I’ll probably import World: RED if it isn’t formally confirmed for Europe by mid November. Eitherway, I wouldn’t mind double dipping if they bring it over, most recent Ganbarion games stay away from licensed music (except Gigant Battle games and Pandora’s Tower?) so there shouldn’t be any notable cuts.

    • TheExile285

America better make sure they buy Romance Dawn 3DS localization

      • Leon_Tekashi

I will when I get spare money.

  • draken

we’re getting Romance Dawn so there’s some hope

  • Luis Camargo

Namco Bandai, you are being awesome with your localizations, thank you.

Sega should learn a lot from you.

    • Renaldi Saputra

it’s usual for Namdai to bring over anything that is related to the Jump series..
the problem is their niche games, and Jump non-related series..
We still don’t get Super Heroine Chronicles, btw

  • John Ross

Naruto Revolution might be huge multiplayer game. :O

  • Teepo 64

  • Jon McGuire

I would love to have One Piece over here in America. Bring Jump as well.

  • eilegz

  • hazelnut1112

Well, they should if they want to see some profit from the Vita Market.
