Senran Kagura Burst Planned For U.S. Release Around November

By Ishaan . October 21, 2013 . 9:30am

Ninja gal brawler Senran Kagura Burst doesn’t have a concrete release date in North America yet, but Xseed say on their Facebook page that they plan to release the game around November.

In reply to a fan asking about the game and how much space it will occupy (Senran Kagura is a download title in the U.S.), Xseed shared: “November-ish on the release, very big on the size of the game (but less than 2GB).”

Senran Kagura Burst contains two games in one—Skirting Shadows, which is the original game, and its sequel, The Crimson Girls. Xseed have not yet announced a price for the game.

Great!! >:3 La buying day one

  • http://www.gamefaqs.com/features/recognition/21421.html?type=4 Kashell

Finally some good news for my Monday!

  • Manny Being Manny

The Japanese version is about 15000 blocks, so make sure you have enough space on your SD Card.

    • TheExile285

Thanks for the tip. I have like 7000 free ony 4GB so I probably should just buy a new MC.

      • Linhua

… hey buddy, would you happen to know how Big an SD Card the 3DS can hold…?

… I just made the switch over to the 3DS XL about a Month ago and it came with a 4GB SDHC and i’m considering upgrading from that as well.

… I mean, clearly, after that one update, the 3DS’ are now compatible with SDHC Cards… and SDHCs go as high as 32GB… but i’m just wondering how much the 3DS is allowed to hold at once.

        • TheExile285

I would think 32GB but truthfully, I’m not really sure. Only had my XL for a few months.

Someone on Open Thread might know.

          • Migon

The 3DS works with 32GB cards, I have one in mine, over 200k blocks! :P

          • Linhua

… purrrfect… about how much did it cost you…?

          • Azul

On amazon its around $20-30 depending on choice of brand

        • InfectedAI

32 gig is the highest officially supported, but people have made larger ones work. Most people should be fine with a 32 gig Class 10 SD card.

          • Linhua

… i’ve just always made it practice to grab the biggest memory card possible so that I don’t have to concern myself with space… especially something like the 3DS what with all the Online goodies it has.

            … Thank you for sharing!

    • Slayven19

Why is it so big? I guess because its 2 games in one which would make sense.

      • GH56734

Those boobies model and model animation and stereoscopic model data files must be HUGE.

    • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

less than Pokemon X and Y.

      I have about 21GB left.
Only full download were Resident Evil Revelation and Pokemon Y.

  • Hapiluna

I’m so buying this. I can’t wait for the date to be released.

  • TheGioG

Oh nearly-full 3DS memory card, why can’t you hold all this cleavage… :’(

    • Tom_Phoenix

Because XSEED doesn’t want to invest in a bigger bra….I mean cartridge.

    • Pyrotek85

At least SD cards aren’t too expensive. Even really large ones work reportedly, though not officially supported.

      • TheGioG

Does any brand/model of memory cards work? Or does it have to be Nintendo-made to work?

        • http://burnpsy.wordpress.com/ burnpsy

You can use any SD card, but most people recommend a class 10 or faster.

          • Pyrotek85

Yep, just like with the Wii, you don’t need Nintendo brand or anything. I’m reading that 64gb-128gb work for people, you just need to make sure they’re formatted for FAT32.

          • Leon_Tekashi

Does it really have to be class 10 or faster?

          • http://burnpsy.wordpress.com/ burnpsy

Do you want slow loading times?

Honestly, the Class 10+ recommendation has never bothered me, since stores in my area only ever carry Class 10s anyway.

          • Leon_Tekashi

Good point. I’ll try to get one before SKB comes out.

          • PreyMantis

No. From my experience with the free lower class SD card from Nintendo, there isn’t a big difference if you get a class 10.

        • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

Nintendo doesn’t make brand sd cards or memory device anymore that was long gone after GC. Sadly Sony wont drop Vita MC for SD Cards.

  • http://simplephilistine.wordpress.com/ Arla

I’m surprised there isn’t a gal character in the game. November is going to be awesome. I hope it launches around Black Friday. It’ll be the first game I download on my shiny new ALBW 3DS XL.

  • TheExile285

    YAY ^_^

  • Shady Shariest

    My brain says: “Vita”
    My… *hhrem* Says Boobs.
Edit: I am in a conflict!
Edit2: With no disrespect for the game, ofc. Fanservice isn’t all of it.

    • TheExile285

Sales for Burst are probably going to be the biggest factory with if we get Shinovi Versus so your brain should tell you to go buy Burst ^_^

      • Shady Shariest

        Krhhglg… Battle plan:
1)Buy Vita, support NIS + others
        2)Buy 3ds.
Now all i need is money…
Edit: And time… Disgaea and Pokemon are not quickies.

        • TheExile285

          Good plan. I recommend getting a 3DSXL.

          • Shady Shariest

I might at first test it… See if i’m one of the people that can’t see the 3D… If i can’t, then i will just buy a 2DS… Like i will buy the Cheapi- 2000-Vita.

    • niko

They are different types of games. The vita one is nice but for the fanservice (even though the Vita has um…more…) i think the 3DS one is better because the Vita one is very grindy.

  • idrawrobots

YSS. I swear I knew this already, still excited.

    • RovCal

      I love ur display picture.

hmmmm guess I should change my dp to sanji’s

      • Leon_Tekashi

You’re gonna love dat ass. lol

    • Ruins72

link to display pic please? I have yet to see dis…

  • Foryth

I guess I’ll have to buy a new memcard for this, especialy with Ace Attorney also coming up. Looking forward to trying this though. :)

  • kylehyde

My poor wallet and my poor free time. Too many games coming around and too few time to play them. The only positive thing is that I’m going to survive the january-february drought very well (I still have a lot of unfinished games)

  • Linhua

… I don’t care how much it costs, just bring it and bring it yesterday.

  • mojack411

Awesome, I still have $25 of e-shop credit left over from the FE:A/SMTIV promotion. I can’t imagine this costing more than $40 so I won’t have to shell out too much. Looking forward to it coming out. Gonna definitely have to make room on my SD card, though, or get a new one…

  • niko

I never say this, but this is one of those that assuming the price is fair, we should buy (if you have that heavy anime/japanese interest). If this does well, it really opens the door to a lot of things. It’s such a niche title, and a niche we don’t usually get. To show it could sell well would be HUGE.

  • Kami nii

Good news!! next game to localize Senran Kagura Versus!! :)

    • Leon_Tekashi

More good news!! It depends on the sales of Burst. We all know what to do!

  • SDDMN

Let’s see…potentially there’s 40 days left before SKB is released then. Bring it on Xseed!

  • leingod

The sooner, the better! That way XSEED can get to work in Shinovi Versus. Of course I’m getting Burst, too.

  • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

    they betterbor else

    • British_Otaku

They seem pretty far in the localisation, but they haven’t spoken about it enough for me to be convinced it won’t slip into December or even next year, digital or not.

      • MoriyaMug

As the guy who translated the script, I can say that I finished that some months ago. ;P

        • British_Otaku

I see, I’m just making an uninformed assumption that seeing only one trailer (primarily focused on the translation or not) with little other promotion means that the game is pretty far from it’s release and perhaps even if the script is finalised it hasn’t been put in place.

Good work, anyway. The faster you did your part, the faster Europe will see a localised release… hypothetically… I already finished the game, but understanding all of the text and exposition will be really nice you know.

          • MoriyaMug

Well, I was just on contract, so my role ended when I turned over the final English files, but there’s always an edit pass, then actually putting the text into the game, QC and beta test, and so on. Plus, XSEED is also a very small company with a lot on their collective plate, at the moment. I’m not surprised at all that SKB is comparatively low priority, at the moment. It’s a big gamble for them to localize it, in the first place.

  • Neppygear

I want Shinovi Versus to get localised, which I suppose all depends on how well this one does. It’s a shame I can’t really support it, due to my lack of a 3DS.

Fellow European Kagurafolk… you have my sincerest condolences. No fanbase should ever have to put up with Zen United. Just ask those who waited on P4 Arena.

    • British_Otaku

It’s a little easier to wait knowing that we are definitely getting a physical release, still yeah… Zen United. >_>

    • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

      get a 2DS it only 120

      • Neppygear

If I’m going to get a 3DS, it will be a 3DS. I’ll just have to save up a bit…

  • dark-kyon

not want to be pessimist, but when i have to chance to read the interview of xseed guy,he tell what they do not want bring shinovi versus why what this game have underage girls in risky portray,i dont know if senran kagura burst do not have underage girls, but the guy left the psvita game how not worth the risk of backlash.

  • PreyMantis

Can’t wait for the huge plots!

    • J_Joestar

yea… Huge Plots, but i love the Backstory too.

  • J_Joestar

A kid was sitting beside me on the subway this morning watching me play Pokemon.
It’ll probably be a more awkward situation if it happened again after SK comes out…

    • British_Otaku

I play Senran Kagura on the train occasionally already, given that it’s a small screen and few people care that much to look for extended periods, you only need to worry about boss battles (either because they take a lot of them or you, or both) or losing battles in general.

      I have little shame.

      • http://crazeegamer-gamingmatters.blogspot.com/ Crazeegamer

yeah there’s no reason to be ashamed.. You’re playing a game enjoy it :)

        • Kamakuma

Dude that picture makes me want to give you a bro fist so much… *Bro fist* But you’re right! Don’t give in to what others think. Heck if you enjoy the game it’s alright in my book. That’s all that matters :’3

          • http://crazeegamer-gamingmatters.blogspot.com/ Crazeegamer

Hey thanks so much man *bro fist* since you totally are cool i followed yu lol.. I felt bad for Kenji, and also felt like he’s a buddy that I would actually hangout with. Yes if you enjoy whatever it is, then enjoy it..screw naysayers.

Although I youtubed the game and it wasn’t quite what I was expecting, but if I had a 3ds I probably would still buy it.

      • ShadowDivz

        “I have little shame”
I believe you and i could be friends.

Wait, are you playing shinovi versus or the japanese 3DS one?

        • British_Otaku

We already are friends, Takaki’s world of happy boobs doesn’t discriminate. Yagyu is one of my favourites from Hanzo as well. :)

I’m playing the Japanese 3DS ones, both the original Shoujotachi no Shinei from 2011 and Senran Kagura Burst Guren no Shoujotachi from 2012 (which is half the previous game with some upgrades and additions and another story).

I’m probably going to wait for SK:SV to be localised at this rate unless something comes up.

          • ShadowDivz

If it does i will end up buying it twice.

There’s a story translation on gamefaqs, but it’s kind of a pain to look at my laptop/cellphone then go back to playing the game. Plus it doesn’t translate the small things so a localization would be nice.

Plus i would have a platinum on a game in it’s original Japanese language and a localized version. Complete Ownage. xD

  • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

Bursting with excitement right now :3

  • Sentsuizan_93

That picture of Hibari says it all XD

  • Keko

Waiting for Vita game. Hopefully they’ll announce it if the 3DS one sells well.

    • idrawrobots

I’m getting both, if given the opp.

    • Daniel Jeanbaptiste

that their plan. Buy this and Vita version comes over.

      • ShadowDivz

We assume that’s their plan! Don’t go spreading false hope!
        Though, it’s a logical assumption.

  • pimpalicious

I’m going to need a bigger SD card. Hopefully this does well so we can get the Vita one and other similar games.

  • TrueDefault

I thought it’s released next year for both NA and EU.

Ah well, at least EU gets physical release instead, no big loss!

  • Dkmariolink

Welp, time to buy this secretly over Amazon, don’t want my parents to find this game.

  • Rolling Guy

Why is it that I already knew it would come out somewhere in November? Come on XSeed! You know we love you, just tell us the release date! Why not just release the details so we can all better prepare for a day one buy!
