Ever wondered where Phoenix Wright gets all his evidence tested at in Dual Destinies? Or maybe you already know the answer, having watched more CSI than I ever did. (Pop quiz: How many series are there and how many seasons? First in comments wins bragging rights!) If your answer was a forensics expert, you’d be right on the ball.

And now, D3 Publisher is coming out with how it feels to be one with their latest @Simple DS titles, number 21’s The Forensics Inspector.

Players will take on the role of a forensics inspector as they scour the crime scene, examine and test evidence to eventually discover exactly who the perpetrator is in four different crimes. All for just 500 yen (US$5) Pretty cheap and spiffy, and a nice way to take a look at a heavily underappreciated job.

@Simple DS Series Vol 21: The Forensics Inspector will be available from October 30th on the Nintendo 3DS eShop in Japan.

CSI is on it’s 13th. season, CSI Miami got cancelled after it’s 10th. season, CSI: NY got cancelled after it’s 9th. season, NCIS is on it’s 11th. season, NCIS: Los Angeles is on it’s 5th. season, Law & Order lasted for 20 seasons, Law & Order: LA lasted one season, Law & Order: Trial By Jury lasted one season, Law & Order: SVU is on it’s 15th. season and Law & Order: Criminal Intent lasted 10 minutes.

TL;DR version: They’re all the police procedural shows I can think of.

What about the ones with unlikely “Crime Fighting” pairings, like The Mentalist, or Castle! Or that other one that’s very heavy on Forensics than with anything else, like, um… Bones?

    • Exkaiser

There’s also Criminal Minds and its spinoff, which are pretty close to the NCIS, Law and Order sort of formula

Ohhh I love Criminal Minds. :D I think it’s on its 6th or 7th season, last I checked.

I remember this game, never played it but remember seeing it long time ago.

  • InfectedAI

I really wish they would localize the Simple series, but this will probably never make it out of Japan.

This looks really cool. :D I have a friend named Ema (yes, like Ema Skye, I know its creepy lol) who wants to be a forensic investigator, and no, she’s never played Ace Attorney. This looks right up her alley.
