Amazons Have Demos Too; Ages Of Amazones Demo Out Now

Ages of Amazones is shipping November 14th, and Arc System Works has announced that there’s now a demo available on the Nintendo eShop for those who want to try it out beforehand.

The 3D, dungeon RPG with the questionable “Climax Phase” has players stuck on an all-female prison world, looking to escape on a hidden spaceship located somewhere on the planet.  You’ll be able to try out a quick dungeon run and some battles. Players should also be aware that you’ll only be able to launch the game some 30 times before it self-destructs and takes the planet with them.

The game features character designs from High School DxD artist Miyama-Zero and Guilty Gear XX Accent Core Plus concept artist Shigetaka Kimura, and looks like it’ll be a kinder version of similarly-themed dungeon delver Etrian Odyssey.

    “self-destructs and takes the planet with them.”

    Jesus, ain’t that brutal.

    I tried the demo and wow this game is better than I thought. One of the best looking 3ds games also you can skip the battle animations by using b button.
    The touch game is required to let the other characters to join your team I think.

      Played up til the cutscene in the screengrab above myself… it is just like EO, but with higher production values…
      and… well, sexiness…=>=

        You’re right but I never played EO game. I tried the demo for IV and I wanted to start the series with the remake. Unfortunately my US 3ds doesn’t work anymore.

      It felt shallow as far as exploration goes in comparison to Etrian Odyssey (I’ve only played 1 for a long time, that’s more or less my reference for dungeon crawlers) and the flaps are terrible (they should have went for something stylised, no flapping or 2D artwork if they don’t have the resources) – no excuse to have the mouth flapping non-stop as a character takes a break in speech for a second or is takes their time counting down from 3 to 1…

      I suppose it grew on me enough to pick it up later since the AP system is pretty clever and the 3D visuals are nice enough. It seemed the damage we did at the end to Queen factored into the levels of the touch game, but I need to play again to be sure. >_> It isn’t bad for something announced shortly before TGS if that means anything.

      I’m not finished, so I’ll get back to it soon.

    Self-destructs? That can’t be good. O.o

    Where do you find it in the shop? I can usually navigate my way to demos on the JPN PSN thru the actual demo page…but I just can’t seem to find it on the eShop. :(
