By Ishaan . October 31, 2013 . 8:30am

Konami have shared a new trailer for Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 in celebration of Halloween. The trailer shows new footage from the game, with a focus on the Belmont family, and you can watch it below.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 takes place mostly in a city setting, and continues the story of Gabriel Belmont—or rather, Dracula. The game will feature more exploration than Lords of Shadow 1, as requested by fans, and bonus boss fights as well.

Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 will be available in February 2014 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Konami Timeline or Mercury Steam Timeline both are LARGE HAMS!!!!

    • eilegz

i prefer iga timeline… seriously LOS should be another game

      • XiaomuArisu

I think it was in the beginningXD
Well its an alternate take not a reebot so the old timeline still exist

  • fairysun

One thing that I am waiting from this series is the story. You seldom see this kind of writing in video game. If there is an award for script in video game, this game easily takes the cake.

  • Richard N

Gawd I hope another actual Belmont shows up with the Vampire Killer. Or even Soma Cruz, that’d be sick!!

    • César H. Sandoval

The Last Belmont, named Victor is also in this game.

    • Cameron Ward

you do know there is going to be another belmont right?

      • Richard N

Nope, know nothing about the sequel really aside from the basic set up.

        • Cameron Ward

in the extended E3 trailer the show off the last of the belmont clan who was the planned Belmont from the cancelled Dreamcast game

    • Đặng Tấn Đức

One of the figurines shown at the end has a blue coat. I’m guessing Richter will be the new Belmont.

  • Xaltmas

Hyped as fuck. This, Dark Souls II and Drakengard 3 are why I’m holding off on next-gen.

  • Solomon_Kano

    That’s one sick ass LE:

Hopefully, we see it in the US as well.

  • Kaihedgie

    Well I’m hyped

  • I’m excited as hell for the game, but I’m afraid they’re gonna announce some awful DLC. Cox admitted Konami basically forced them create DLC for the original and that’s why it was so rushed and shit. He said something like if they were to do DLC for the sequel it would be done right, but I don’t want any of that shit at all. I just want a complete game.

Anyways, trailer was great. I loved LoS, MoF was fun and all the trailers for this game have been great. There’s still plenty of games coming out for current gen consoles. No need to upgrade yet.

    • Cloud_ST

I didn’t feel the original to be rushed at all, it was a pretty long game. The incredibly expensive and short DLC with important story bits was a pain in the ass though.

  • Scott W

wait, so Trevor became Alucard in this universe?

    • Kaihedgie

    • César H. Sandoval

Yes, in Mirror of Fate, after Dracula killed Trevor and realized it was his own son, he turned him into a vampire to ressurrect him.

    • Yea, Mirror of Fate explains it.

  • Tales_of_Master

HOLLY MILK JUGS Carmilla looks amazing. This game looks to be vastly improved over LoS. I love that CE, and although I don’t believe in the concept of CEs I find myself really liking that CE.

I think I’m sold on this game, and probably will pre-order the CE edition the minute it’s available. Now it’s time to continue my Castlevania marathon. (Up to Aria of Sorrow)

  • Going to be awesome going through the story for this

  • Happy Gamer

I never thought I’d like LoS as much as I do now when it was first announced. Even after playing the first game, I never thought I’d be hyped for the 2nd one at all. 1st game left me with a “gah wish it had more” feeling. Story had a killer twist though. And the handheld, I finished it with 100% but was pretty stale. This game however, looks to perfect things.

  • Blackburn7

Mercury of the Night: Dracula’s Path

    Just saying.

  • So I played LoS but there’s a time gap on defeating Satan and this, still don’t remember what caused him to turn and how what’s his face that’ll free him from his immortality is related

    • Brandonmkii

He turns in the dlc episodes fir LOS.

    • Solomon_Kano

His turning happens in the DLC.

Not sure what your question is on Zobek. Are you asking how he’s related to Gabriel’s turning or how he’s related to LoS2? If you’re asking the former, he’s not.

      • Oh that’s why, didn’t play the dlc. Man they should’ve put that in the game

I was confused by the trailer where he was Dracul

        • Solomon_Kano

Hm. Which trailer? The one where Zobek finds him in the church? Because, save for a few seconds, that’s just the scene from the end of the first LoS.

      • Nitraion

Damn kinda late now to play DLC….
Well this game is Kinda longest in term in hack and slash game to me at least…. now if they bring back explore like old castelvania that would be sick…
i hope they bring LV system back… but if not thats okay…

        • Solomon_Kano

Yea, LoS is the longest action game I’ve played since… quite possibly ever.

  • Vitonofrio del Rosso

    in my veins please!

  • Fub Frank

Really looking forward to this game. Just finished MoF HD over the weekend and it has been a real fun game with the good lore still attached to it.

It also came with the demo which is what made me purchase it last week. LoS2 demo felt real good, way more fluid than the first one in every respect. Plus the graphics were real nice too, like the first one.

  • the_rain

    Kefka 1:12

  • KazukiNanbu

i hope the story is better executed because i didn’t care about gabriel and the event that happen around him ,the only “good” character was zebek but he was wasted because bad writing

  • leingod

This looks nice… and Alucard has some elements of his PS1 look there, too.

  • Crevox

Will be happy and maybe play it if they remove the QTE’s

  • Chris Cruz

Wow. that emotion in that voice. That was amazing!

  • Vash bane

Woah when the dev said a surprise I wasn’t expecting this in the least. alucard and trevor are now one in the same o_o

  • DaDivaQueen

He has such a tiny head…

  • Göran Isacson

Ha ha, the start of the video where Gabriel reads a book while brooding and the book is about… Gabriel being brooding. That was kind of unintentionally hilarious to me.

Ooh, they actually talk about that STUPID plot twist from Mirror of Fate about the Order seeing Maries future and then taking away Trevor and then… never mentioning why they didn’t just try and prevent Gabriel from Dracula in the first place, because the game wouldn’t have a plot then. Unsure if their little discussion will in any way make up for the inanity of that plot twist, but I can hope. I am unsure if this Marie and Carmilla are just apparitions made by people who want to mess with Gabriels mind or if they are real creatures. If they are real, I do wonder what the endgame will be. It seems like Marie IS aware of what Gabriel has become, but wants him to abandon his revenge quest against God.

Then again, perhaps there IS some kind of conspiracy in play here, since the Orders treatment of Gabriel was just so phenomenally shortsighed and foolish, especially when they had a mirror which could explicitly tell the future. It makes one wonder what the endgame goal was. Is Gabriel becoming Dracula part of some grand design by God, or just the writers being hacks human folly? And if it is part of Gods plan, is the plan benevolent for humanity or will God turn out to be some wicked guy? Did he create Dracula purely to have someone on Earth who could smack Lucifer around, and doesn’t care about what happens to humanity as long as there’s someone who can act as gate-keeper against Luci? That… strieks me as quite the short-sighted plan truth be told, and may lead into some kind of final big boss-fight against The Almighty itself. But, we shall have to wait and see….

Also is that little Trevor we see there before we switch to Alucard, who is looking really interesting there with his scars… it’s almost like he’s made out of cracked porcelain, a pretty cool and inhuman look for a vampire.
