So Much Akiba’s Trip 2 Footage It’s Almost Like Playing Through The Game

By Spencer . November 11, 2013 . 2:00am

Siliconera asked Kazuki Morishita, President of GungHo Online Entertainment, if they will bring Akiba’s Trip 2 overseas and he said they would consider it if there is a huge audience out there for it. So, here’s a long look at Akiba’s Trip 2, an action game as wacky as Way of the Samurai, but set in modern day Japan. Players can walk around Akihabara which was painstakingly recreated for the PlayStation 3 and Vita game.

Dat kissing scene. Bring this game to the west, Gungho.

    • artemisthemp

      As psychical copy thanks

  • Xerain

Really wish that games was coming out early next year instead of RIGHT NAO. I can’t afford to get it right now.

  • cyberkinghardy

I wish they also made this in English like Ragnarok Odyssey

  • Gekokujou

If I wasn’t a busy bear, I’d be playing my copy right now.

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

The game is absolutely hilarious and the dialogue choices are A++ but the gameplay itself is REALLY slow. and unresponsive. Its a disappointment. I’ll probably keep playing just for the characters and humor but I was expecting something more fluid and fun to play like Yakuza.

    • Namuro

Well, with the word “strip” in the game, I don’t think you should expect it to be anything like Yakuza in the first place, LOL. But I have to say though, that the town exploration and the combat (which I didn’t really expect from this game; I thought it would be a more timing based combat that focus ONLY on stripping) makes me think of Yakuza as well.

If you crave for some Yakuza on the go, there’s still the Black Panther! But personally, I couldn’t stomach that game, even though I’m a big Yakuza fan, since I really loathe the main character…ugh.

      • FitzpatrickPhillips

Well from the game structure itself, its pretty much a pervy comedy version of Yakuza, although I wasn’t planning on it being that godly. Its just that the controls are so stiff that if almost ruins everything else that is so well done. Also the frame rate is pretty bad at times too.

I know about Yakuza Panther but thanks for the suggestion! Haven’t gotten around to it though.

  • FlyingPony

I like what I saw. Unfortunately, I cannot understand a single word uttered.

  • Kai2591

Well I’m one audience for this :)

  • Namuro

Well, I’ll be… I didn’t expect this to be a rather combat-heavy game. I thought it would be something more light-hearted and casual.

Looks pretty neat! Sure love the virtual Akihabara and all the details like the screen showing a real game trailer and all…even if it looks a bit empty… I hope the PS3 version will look more lively. Otherwise, this looks pretty gorgeous.

    • TheExile285

      This is the PS3 version

      • Namuro

        Oh. Well… all right then.

        • s07195

It’s a lot more lively than the first game, haha.

  • Aristides

Cmon Gungho! Keep up your expansion to the west. Be a hero! =D

  • Ladius

I hope they can find a way to localize this game, I would have gladly bought the first Akiba’s Trip and this look far better.

  • Barrylocke89

I wonder if Gungho will put an Akibas trip crossover into puzzles and dragons.

  • Time Sage

I’m quite glad you’re not limited to stripping women in this. I might pick it up if it comes stateside since you can strip the men too

  • http://epiclyamazing.wordpress.com/ AzureNova

I only watched the first vid because I didn’t wanna spoil too much, but from what I did watch it only strengthened my want for it lol

  • Anime10121

Wants this but knows no one will ever localize it :(

  • Learii

bring to the west Gungho I have fate in you guys

  • Red Antares

I just imported this but maybe I should have waited to see if they will bring it to the west, I really wanted to play this game, anyone know if I can finish it without knowing a lot of japanese?

    • IV-n

Well I played the first one without knowing too much japanese and only got stuck at one point (used a Japanese FAQ), so I think you shouldn’t have too much trouble playing this.

  • TheExile285

    Gungho, I want it!

    • DyLaN

      Along with it MIND 0!

  • Oltheros

If they’re looking for an audience, I’d buy it.

  • Kornelious

Sucks this game isn’t made by one of NISA’s usual companies. This would be right up their alley :(

    • Renaldi Saputra

but will NISA take a part to handle the localization of this?

  • Loli Summoner

So if I have a girl, will they show a yuri kissing scene? Anyway this game…and no offense to the people that think it looks good, this is my “opinion” but this game looks….boring, repetitive and grindy, just doesn’t look very good to me.A shame to because I always wanted to play a anime sandbox/open world game. Now I know I shouldn’t judge a book by it’s cover, but just by looking at the gameplay it looks meh.Its a pass for me.Btw it was funny how they were using their whole hand to play on the phone lol.

  • cram261444

I kinda really want this game

  • Kudoshinichi12

I think I’ve seen enough to know that I’d probably enjoy playing this game. I loved Yakuza because beating the crap out of people in the streets was just funny to me. Furthermore, this game seems to have quite a bit of quirky charm to it, as well.

Yeah. I’d buy it. Games like this are what serve to diversify the selection amongst different systems. I think it’d be a good candidate for localization.

  • AkiraScare

Please Sandy Claws bring this to the west (^_^)

  • Anthony Birken

I can’t express how addicted I am to that battle track~

  • s07195

I guess I’m glad you start out with the three punch combo, at least. >.>
That was annoying in the first game, needing to buy a battle book just to figure out that you can whack a person twice in a row with an umbrella.

  • Romancer Ecclesia

I despise my culture but it’s one of those rare times where I’m thankful to understand Mandarin when it’s getting localized in that language. >_<

  • Yan Zhao

    Them “Oryah’s”, lol.

  • http://www.falgram.com/ Falmung

Where do I sign up Gungho? I’ll buy both games if you localize both versions. I’ll spread the word like a religion.
