Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies DLC Episode Coming Next Week

By Ishaan . November 13, 2013 . 9:45am

Ace Attorney: Dual Destinies is getting a downloadable sixth episode in North America and Europe soon. This case will take place prior to ending of the game, and will feature Phoenix Wright’s first case since reacquiring his attorney’s badge.

The episode is titled “Turnabout Reclaim” and involves a client named Sasha Buckler, who is allegedly a pirate. Sasha wants the Wright Anything Agency to help defend her orca—a killer whale, if you must know—against a murder charge.

Turnabout Buckler will allow you to use all investigation and interrogation techniques from the main game, including Athena’s Mood Matrix and Phoenix’s Psyche-Lock system. Additionally, Pearl Fey will be returning to assist Phoenix with his case.

Turnabout Reclaim will be available for download on Thursday, 21st November for $5.99 / £3.99 / €4.99.

Hmm, 6 bucks? I’ll likely be picking this up, hoping it’s worth it. Guess I’m a bit spoiled from Nintendo’s recent Pikmin 3 DLC offerings.

  • AuraGuyChris

Hopefully this case will be as long as Rise from the Ashes. DON’T TELL ME THE ANSWER, PLEASE.
What’s up with the mysterious red “t” with a link in the article?

    • Jesse

That’s a link to a Facebook page announcing the DLC. ^^

    • Aoshi00

let’s just say it’s a pretty long case and would be worth $6 (sometimes you don’t want a case to drag out too long though).. in Jpn the promo price was 400 yen, after the 1st month it was 800 yen, I was hoping this to be $4 guess they just set 1 price at the middle.. this is actually one of my favorite cases, maybe better than case 1-3..

  • Xaltmas

She can shiver my timber any day.

    • Brandonmkii

      With or without the mustache?

      • Göran Isacson

With, man. If you’re gonna get with a lady pirate you’re already swimming in some freaky waters, you might just as well take the dive all the way to the deepest depths.

  • $5.99? Crap I only bought a $35 card to buy the game. I’m $0.99 short. :(

  • Audie Bakerson

Over 14+ years on the bench he has seen (spoilers!)

A dead woman assist the defense, the cross examination of a parrot, a witness testify by walkie talkie, a man lose his hair from “losing” a court battle, himself being cross examined in his own court out of session where his own testimony revealed is revealed to be nothing more than him hearing a balloon pop, the “pendulum corpse” explanation, a murder committed by a dead woman, an exorcism, an attempt to smuggle goods so they can be sold to a chief justice, a murder committed years prior to anyone dying and evidence traveling back in time.

But an animal killing someone? THAT is absurd.

    • That… pretty much covers all of them, doesn’t it? Good old Udgey. You can tell he’s a lot more open-minded in Dual Destinies, though. He doesn’t seem as shocked by crazy things any more, and he seems more willing to accept crazy solutions, and actively asks the defense for them.

    • MrTyrant

Cross examination of a parrot I think it did happen in my country….Suddenly Ace Attorney isn’t so unrealistic.

      • GH56734

In the original GBA versions of the first three games you only got one and exactly one chance to get the cases right, just like in real life (almost).
If you quit to save, that save is temporary, and WILL be erased when you continue the game.

I really wish they kept it somehow. Now the iOS version made save scumming even more easy than the DS/Wii ones.

    • GH56734

You forgot that one case in the second game with the gravity-defying cape that fly upwards then wraps in an 180° angle around some object. And somehow Franziska suddenly doesn’t object!

And AAI 2 has its share of wackiness as well. The final boss in that game was mauled by animals during his breakdown so there’s some kind of precedent.

      • Audie Bakerson

“You forgot that one case in the second game ”

        I wish.

    • new_tradition

“a murder committed years prior to anyone dying”

When was this? My memory is fuzzy, but I recognize all the other examples xD

      • Audie Bakerson

    • darkbartz

“a trial halted by the defendant’s in court suicide”
To be fair, this wasn’t actually his case. I would substitute it with “defendant vanishing into thin air” and “your own prosecutor below is guilty, TWICE”.

      • Audie Bakerson

Right, not sure how I made that mistake.

  • Dexward

Oh why? Booby ninjas tomorrow, then this and Zelda next week.

    • Shippoyasha

Too much life. Needs some more Hometown!

    • Slayven19

Yes that is tomorrow isn’t it.

  • My bet is on the dolphin, who jumped ship (and game) and made its new home in Soul Hackers. *Squeak squeeeeak*

    (God that boss annoyed me…)

    • Zero_Destiny

Funny enough I got beat up bad since I wasn’t prepared and the only reason I won was because he ran out of MP and couldn’t do much else. XD

So it was a long drawn out battle of me just attacking and him just sitting there and taking it (he locked out all my magic lol).

      • InfectedAI

Haha, yeah that boss was a pain. I took the gimmick to beating him as the opposite of what you were supposed to do so I stood no chance. I accidentally ran into a post online about how to beat him and was like really? After that he was fairly easy.

  • mockturtle

I can see that even in the screenshots they release to the press, they have spellcheck issues. In the first Blackquill screenshot, he says her name is “Ora,” but then in the one with the girl and the orca, she says “Orla.” So either there’s an Ora and an Orla, or Capcom has once again showed that they do not hire proofreaders.

Still gonna buy, though, just saying.

    • Audie Bakerson

Or it is stated wrong in-game.

      • mockturtle

Perhaps, but after seeing the numerous spelling and grammatical errors in the game, I think my hypothesis is valid for the time being.

  • SupaPhly

so, the second ep definitely isnt being translated?

by the way, has capcom usa said how many copies they sold?

  • Dianatos

    *Does Starbuck’s fist pump!*

  • Guest

That mustache, i have seen it before…
    King Bradley, that thou?

  • コルセット

Capcom, please keep pumping out these cases. I will buy them all!

  • 6$ isn’t all that bad. I’ll bite.

  • new_tradition

So no promo pricing for the DLC case, eh? I’ll still buy it asap because I’m jonesing for my AA fix, but still…

The orca is gonna be interesting because I hope they make some mention of a fish tank accommodation in court xD

  • Göran Isacson

Oooh, think I can buy this and the DLC-case in that case and have it all ready for my sisters birthday! Because I’m just a gentle and caring and philantropic soul like that and she is not going to get that 3DS for like the whole time it takes me to clear the game. :)

  • Yan Zhao

I know its supposed to be goofy and all, but how does an Orca get charged with Murder nad taken to court? I mean, dangerous wildlife killing humans is kind of a normal occurrence.

  • Fox

    DLC episodes? AWESOME.

Anyone know if there will be more than just the one? I can never get too much Ace Attorney.
