Bravely Default developers Silicon Studio have just released a new smartphone card game called Diabolos: Tears of Sorrow. This card-based dark fantasy RPG sees players pick from one of three shrine maidens such as Mika to fight alongside with to destroy the demons plaguing the land.

We’re not sure how it works out, but in order to control the deck of creatures you’ll also need to become a demon yourself. Such is the price you’ll pay, but in return you’ll gain considerable power, able to take on the madness that walks the realm and protect your chosen heroine.

As you travel across the world smacking demons and making a name for yourself, you’ll have to grow your relationship with your chosen shrine maiden, who will be able to change her costume and this will eventually affect her mannerisms towards you apparently. There are raids which will use BP (Battle Points) as well as Guild Battles.

LOOK! A GREAT CONCEPT OF GAME MADE BY COMPETENT DEVS WITH GREAT ARTWORK AND GOOD MUSIC

that is also a card game for smartphones that will never have one line of text translated into english

    • GH56734

      This is… inhuman.

  • Chrystofax

The background story kinda reminds me of Demon’s Souls, I’d like to try it out if it was in english…ah well. Oh and I’d probably pick the Silver haired maiden myself.

  • M’iau M’iaut

Please do keep the discussion on the topic of this title and not go down routes previously traveled in other mobile game threads. We are kind of done with the foolishness. Thanks.

    • Kaitsu

But can we talk about the boobies? They’re very prominent in this game.

      • M’iau M’iaut

Well according to some of your fellow posters here. The art doesn’t make them as prominent as they should be. Demon six packs also seem to have importance, too.

I could easily envision this game developed for the 3DS (whether as a retail title or download exclusive), with the cards appearing on the touch screen, and the rest of the game on top.

Anyway, this seems quite similar to the Department Heaven series, though with a Fire Emblem-esque twist, and of course, Touhou-style girls.

    • Kumiko Akimoto

It’s pretty much the same thing

  • Crazy_O

I played valkyria crusade and devil maker tokyo and that’s only because I liked the illustrations of cute girls. I see monsters and guys. Not for me.

  • revenent hell

Ok seriously, I cant be the only one who expected to see nipples for the girl in the top first pic to the left….. That’s awful clothing design right there….

    • FlyingPony

It just you, I can see it from miles that those two is not bare boobs but cloth.. the color of her face and dress is not the same for a hint.

      • revenent hell

No it looks the same to me. There’s no difference between the skin color and the cloth color. That’s the problem .

  • SetzerGabbiani

I’m liking the art direction…of the demons.

    • Bigabu Beaze

      Buahahahaha!

  • alfare

    Hmmm. Shrine maidens.

    Hmmm….

  • Nameless App 1989

How do I download this? I don’t even see it on the Japanese site.

  • Cody

My strategy is definitely going to be to pick the chicks with the biggest breasteses, just sayin.
