This Week In Imports: Bravely Default Returns With Attack On Titan

By Spencer . December 2, 2013 . 4:30pm

image Bravely Default returns for Japan with Bravely Default: For the Sequel, which is basically the "International version" of Square Enix’s RPG since it has all of the upgrades in the Western version. Nintendo will release Bravely Default in Europe this week too.

Spike Chunsoft’s Attack on Titan game and the latest entry in the Inazuma Eleven series are scheduled for Thursday as well. With so many major 3DS games coming out at the same time what does this mean for Gaist Crusher, a new IP developed by Capcom and Sin & Punishment developer Treasure? Capcom said this IP is a big deal since it’s more than just a game.

This will be a bravely month for JPN/EU. US….not so much, I hope you guys enjoy your SMT4 :)

    • GH56734

      Australia, Europe and Japan, actually.
Only Nintendo of America delayed the game.

    • Kaetsu

It sucks that NA gets it later but it’s two days after my birthday so I don’t mind :D

  • Neophoton

*eagerly awaits copy of BDFS in the mail*

I told myself I wouldn’t buy the retail copy and just get the digital expansion, but that boxart is so lovely… And I just prefer physical copies in general. :p

    • ishyg

Will it have English language? I will buy it if it does, and just play it on my brother’s Japanese 3DS.

      • British_Otaku

It was confirmed to have all languages (Japanese, English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish) that the European version has ages ago in a case very similar to Pokemon.

Here is an article about For the Sequel when we didn’t know about it getting localised for sure yet:

        • ishyg

Thanks. I’ve read the article before, but I wanted to ask just in case I’ve misunderstood what has been said. BD tomorrow then, I just hope the local shop doesn’t run out of copies.

      • Neophoton

It does, as British Otaku has mentioned.

        • ishyg

Will there be English language on the Japanese version?

  • TheExile285

Huge week for 3DS. I wonder which will do better. Gaist Crusher or AoT 3DS.

    • British_Otaku

Hoping we get a title like “Attack on Gaist” or “Titan Crusher” in the next This Week In Sales nodding to them, there is a lot of competition though.

    Key European Releases
    Bravely Default (3DS)
    Gran Turismo 6 (PS3)

    Key Domestic Releases
    Gran Turismo 6 (PS3)
    Br-NOOOOOOOOO!!!! I can’t wait until my birthday.

  • Jero

I love the black boxes but to be honest I prefer white because the majority games here are white and having a bunch of games with the white box and others with the black box just… *grinds teeth*

  • Gaist Crusher same week as IE, Shingeki, BD and Yugioh. Well then, Capcom~

    • British_Otaku

The whole October to December period for the 3DS has been pretty packed, at the very least the anime had 10 episodes or something to make a mark along with the demo. >_>

      • True enough, I just think this is an especially bad week for this kind of game to release orz

Also need to get back to the show, from what I’ve seen so far it’s amusing but feels extremely simple.

        • British_Otaku

My point was that every week was a bad week, no one would get Gaist Crusher over One Piece, Toriko, Pokemon, Yokai Watch (which charted for the longest time ever), Sentouchu, Metal Max 4, Medarot, Kamen Rider, Monster Hunter and so on. Here, Gaist Crusher is prepared for a spanking at least a little bit.

I put off Gaist Crusher at Episode 3 to watch something with more “weight” for contrast, I sorta forgot I started till now. >_> The anime is okayish…

          • Oh I forgot about One Piece and Toriko! Well yeah I see your point then. This is overall a bad time to release an anime game when there are a whole bunch of high popularity anime games released at the same time orz

Yeah I stopped at episode 3 as well. I want to like it more, since I like the designs and all, but it’s really really simple xD

  • James Enk

Bravely Default coming soon and today i learned that i will also get an artbook with it:)

  • TrueDefault

Yakuza 5 the best edition also comes out this week! But since it’s a re-release, makes sense it ain’t up here.

  • Kaetsu

Liberation Maiden got a sequel? Or is it just a port of the 3DS game?

    • Tom_Phoenix

It’s a sequel. A…visual novel sequel. Don’t ask how that makes any sense; we don’t know either.

  • FitzpatrickPhillips

    I wish AoT had a demo…

  • British_Otaku

Please be good Attack on Titan… Please have a demo on Wednesday Attack on Titan…

Somewhat off topic, but Phosphorescent Lanze is coming out December 4th for the 3DS eShop (1000yen) and looks pretty cool:

Hoping the few J3DS here don’t forget in their scramble to import unproven licensed games.

  • hazelnut1112

Wouldn’t mind importing Revengeance since it has English everything and it’s only $20.
So damn cheap for an import game.

  • It’ll be interesting to see how Gaist Crusher does, especially with some of those other titles against it.

  • HansKaosu

Cant wait til Friday :D so hyped for Bravely Default.

  • Göran Isacson

Holy hell it is actually out this week. I do not think I know how to handle this revelation. Nor does my wallet. I haven’t even started playing Phoenix Wright 5 yet!

  • Mrgrgr and Unacceptable World

    That 3DS software rains.O_o

  • Region locking on the 3ds and Wii U needs to die.
