I hope they make it into TV series. Basara anime was very nice.

    • Sardorim

      Still waiting on Season 3.

      • urbanscholar

The movie is covers SB3. Unless you mean a season based off SB 4 which may or may not happen given it’s an alternative universe

        • AAa

Considering there will be anime cutscene in SB4, Don’t think SB4 anime will be necessary now. :P

  • Sardorim

Interesting main character choice. Perhaps they’ll be play up the brotherly bonds between Yukimura/Nobuyuki and Nobuyuki’s relationship with Inahime?

  • DanielGearSolid

    Hopefully it airs on Crunchyroll

  • Masa

about time, still confused as to how they haven’t made a dynasty warriors anime seeing how huge the game series is in Japan.

    • Lelouch Vi Britannia

      googd point there.

    • DaiRaiOh

It makes sense why they wouldn’t. It’s a huge multi-sided story with no clear villian once Dong Zhuo goes. An anime of it would just be a mess if it even tried to focus on half the characters. More so considering so many of them would just be dying left and right throughout the series

      • Masa

It could focus on Liu Bei, Sun Quan and Cao Cao and most of the popular characters fighting for the land, would be easy to make into an anime and people dying here and there….nothing wrong with that, its death which is common in most animes and pretty much everything else.

        • DaiRaiOh

The problem is that a lot of the popular characters and overall main characters for the franchise actually die early on in the story a lot of the time. And as for focusing on the three of them, it would still be difficult as they all have very long and detailed back-stories themselves. Backstories that need a lot of characters and would just have the focus all over the place. Look at it this way. Souten Kouro and Sangokushi’s animes were both more focused tellings of TROTTK taking place in more contained time frames, and the focus was still very vast to the point that it was kind of pushing it. If you focus on all three kingdoms, than it’s gonna be a mess and I’m pretty sure Koei knows that

      • Rayhan PromisedGallery

technically SW anime would be more of a mess since there are a LOT more of different factions than DW’s three kingdoms….
Especially both DW and SW has no clear “protagonist” that deserves total focus if they become TV series.

        • DaiRaiOh

It had more factions but also has a lot more contained stories which is what they’re doing for this one. It’s just gonna be focused on one battle, and the manageable amount of important characters involved with it.

        • Sardorim

Easy. Make Yukimura, Nobuyuki, Ieyasu, or Masamune as Main Character.

      • Alexander Marquis Starkey

The Romance of the 3 Kingdoms TV Series seems to do it well enough.

        • DaiRaiOh

That series was very very Liu Bei focused, and also took place in a somewhat small timeframe

          • Sardorim

The Three Kingdoms live action dramas were pretty good too.

          • DaiRaiOh

That I agree with. Probably the more accurate telling of the novel there is and with how well they did it, possibly ever will be

  • sakusakusakura_nyo

I hope they bundle this anime with the western release too, assuming it comes out over here. I’ve had my PS3 for years but I still don’t have any blu-rays.

Will it have men riding TWO horses at once, and punching out an evil overlord with a rainbow colored fist of bromance/romance?

If not then inferior product to Sengoku Basara, do not collect go or collect 200 Yen.

I would say I’m joking but honestly I kinda wonder what they CAN bring to the table that would make people compare it favorably to it’s rival franchise… more lady characters?

    • Rayhan PromisedGallery

GTFO, don’t compare this to a series that make Sengoku Era totally complete joke of bromance and gundam.

      • Göran Isacson

Yes, because the franchise which crossed over with Dynasty Warriors and had them fight a giant snake god and whose latest installment features what appears to be little girls massacring faceless goons in the hundreds people with pelota rackets really capture the ESSENCE of that dark, grim time in Japanese history.

They’re both over the top action games, that’s what I’m saying: how will this be over the top in a different way from Sengoku Basara?

  • AuraGuyChris

    Dammit. I can’t see Kanetsugu without a Kadabra/Alakazam.

  • Mordina

Interesting! Something I never thought would happen. I wonder if we will see Kunoichi crush on Yukimura.

    • Sardorim

She should as she’s his love interest. Kunoichi is interesting as she seems to stand in for Akihime and the Ten Sanada Braves. She also hangs out with Shingen to take the place of her master Chiyome.

Besides, wouldn’t be fair to Yukimura at all if only his brother Nobuyuki gets a romance sub-plot. By that Nobuyuki’s involves Inahime who was the “Light of his life”.
