Final Fantasy XV Is Already Getting A Play Arts Kai Noctis Figure

It’ll be a while until we can get our hands on Final Fantasy XV, but it looks like we might be getting character figures soon, as Square Enix merchandise manager Hidemi Matsuzaka recently tweeted a look at the game’s protagonist, Noctis Lucis Caelum, in prototype-figure form.

While we probably won’t be seeing a Tetsuya Nomura figure in his likeness with Noctis’ costume 9similar to Hideo Kojima’s very own action figure),  what makes this interesting is that Play Arts Kai character figures tend to be made after the games are released, but it appears as though we’ll be getting the Noctis figure prior to the game’s release.

Final Fantasy XV is currently in development for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Wow. I can’t get over it I mean just look at those guys.

    • Kaetsu

      They all look very douchey.

      • Byron Kerrison II

The one on the far left, maybe.
But they look like a mix of class and ready-for-action.

        • Kaetsu

What about the guy on the far right? Also the main character looks out place next to the other guys. He looks like if someone were to cosplay an FF protagonist and then went into a hipster club.

The one on the far left looks douchey. Really douchey.

Far Right looks classy to me… Maybe button up his shirt.

            Sorry, one sec.

          • EX+

            These are the new designs.

  • Alex Morales

For a second I thought the screenshot was the figure

  • EX+

Well, it’ll look nice when it’s painted.
2014 for the figure. 2015 for the game.

    • Samsara09

20XV,lol.At least the figurine is good, yeah?

    • Monterossa

must be very easy to paint this one, only need one bottle of black color.

  • Godmars

    “Already”?

Character designs have been known for years. Guess Square’s focus on XIII and Lightning held up anything for XV till now.

    • Herok♞

well when it says “Already”, they could mean that its before the game is out

  • Randgriz

Well this is way less pretentious then Noctis’ Perfume Square was touting before.. i approve of this

    OR WILL IT!?

What if the figure is being made already because they’re planning on releasing soon? Lots of wishful thinking, but maybe…

    • OathkeeperSoraXIII

agreed, the Lightning Returns figure was at this stage just before E3 I think. With a bit of luck, FFXV will be released in 2014 in Japan and early 2015 elsewhere.

      • EX+

        Hopefully.

    • Shady Shariest

…Or because they gave Play Asia a deadline that is 7 years to the future?
…And this is just a very basic concept of the finished model…
      …Which will shoot lasers…
      …From its nipples…

Nothing “already” about this since these characters and concepts have been around since 2006.

Anything but the game eh SE?

  • Final Aura

A must buy! This figure will be beyond epic!!!

  • echokanon

Well, one music from the game is already included in a music collection way back then when the game is still Versus…

Why am I feeling SE is making more goods than than games nowadays…

  • Ouch My Head Said Dionysus

you can make your own adventure! you’ll have to.

  • NimbusStev

I don’t understand the appeal of buying memorabilia for games that haven’t been released yet. We don’t even know for sure that we’re going to like the game or the characters!

Imagine the poor sucker who bought a Red Steel figure thinking that would look nice on his shelf.

  • Firekitty

Maybe they’re planning to bundle one with an LE of the game?
